The customer service here is deplorable. I had an appointment I made a week ago at 11:30. It didn't get taken in until 12:10 because the workers were too busy bitching about their job In the waiting room we could hear them screaming, swearing, complaining about their job, complaining about their company. So I FINALLY get in the bay. Does it start? Nope. The mechanic is coming to talk to his friend who is now a customer about something else. The others in the waiting room also had appointments at Noon and yet they were sitting, waiting, watching the workers freak out and chat. It was very uncomfortable hearing them rant about us. Hearing one guy say he doesn't care anymore, they can fire him, that this place is going down the drain, fu*k it he doesn't even care, etc. I get you are a busy business. But why take appointments if they will not be honored. We don't need to hear that. I was there 90 min for a scheduled oil change. I then made an appointment for the next week for my inspection. I showed up on time. Noone in the waiting room, 2 mechanics talking in bays. After 5 min he comes in, tells me they cannot honor my appointment as they are too busy. Why no one calls to warn me? I made an appointment online to bring my car in for an inspection of my exhaust. My mechanic had told me that the clips holding it had broken off and I needed to find a place that could do so. I made an appointment and asked for it to be looked at and to be given a repair estimate. I dropped my car off at approximately 9:30 am then got a call around 5 pm saying it was ready. I was handed my keys and offered no explanation to what was wrong or anything. Just that I was all set. I do not believe my car even moved all day. It was in the same spot I left it and it appeared as if no one even entered my vehicle. I am extremely disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I brought my car there against my better judgement for an emergency brake repair. We called first, they said they could fix it. After it being on the lift for about an hour, they couldn't fix it. So, I had to tow it to my mechanic. Also, they left the ignition the whole time, and killed my new battery. read more

1) I had a confirmed appointment for a state inspection at 12:30. I arrived at 12:20. A walk-in needing tire repair arrived at the same time. They took that car first and left me waiting until that was done. Why give out appts if they're not going to honor them? 2) My car failed for front brakes and rotors. All well and good. Until they quoted me $950 for parts and labor. Four years ago, I had the same work done at a dealer for around $450. I know inflation is up but really? So I said I would shop around and the first place I called (another well known auto shop) quoted less than $500! 3) I had my brakes and rotors replaced and went back to Monro where I was told the state inspection guy was out sick and I'd need to return another day. 4) Finally, my car was given a sticker. The inspector scraped off the old sticker and left an entire sticker's worth of sticky residue. Then placed the new sticker ABOVE the residue, not in the lower corner where it belongs. This was the worst autoshop experience I've ever had. Between trying to overcharge me by 100s of dollars to just plain poor workmanship, I would never recommend this location to anyone. read more

This became my go-to for tire repairs when I worked across the street and had four flats in a year. It's easy to schedule an appointment online and there's always plenty of availability. Staff is polite, friendly and professional. Even though I no longer work nearby, I returned today to have a leaky tire checked. As always, they repaired it in no time and explained to me exactly what they found. I was back on the road in no time after a short time in the sunny waiting area. I like this location because they are close to me. Even better, they are friendly, provide great service and are extremely affordable. The oil changes never have any hidden costs and I like that. Being a woman, it is easy to get taken advantage of in a car shop. However, unknown to most, I practically grew up in a garage so I know a thing or two. These guys have never tried to take advantage of me and I've had the manager tell me if the job was worth the money or if I could just do it myself. I like that honesty, it's really hard to come by. They will have my business forever! Although they take walk ins it's encouraged that you call for an appointment because then you are guaranteed to not wait as long. I have called before and they have told me to come in that day or I can schedule for the next day. Being open on the weekends is a big plus too. read more

Trash. I spent 15-18 months here as a consistent customer and all I found was ridiculously unprofessional (even worse than what you think of for a mechanic). The manager here is a fricking joke bashing his own co workers, taking a shop and running it like it's his own business, etc. Dude. Place is not yours SIT DOWN. Monro has rules and regulations for a reason -follow them. Then there's the actual work... I went in for a basic oil change where they have a few things that every shop checks on for you to be sure YOU are safe driving in the vehicle. Two weeks later I am told that my brakes are worn down to the pads and I quite literally am endangering my own life by driving -is this a joke? Then a host of other things that are wrong with the car after the fact. People who have been coming to this shop for years now avoid it because of him. You might be really happy upfront because you think you're getting a great deal just look closer it's not even good work. Forget his flirting with customers (saw not experienced). Manager sits behind desk more interested in finishing his chicken fingers than assisting customers. This place charges $120.00 hr for labor. New Management! Completely New and Positive Experience! I have been a frequent customer at Monroe Muffler Woonsocket for awhile now, mostly because it is really a convenient location for me, mostly for oil changes. I have always sorta secretly dreaded going there, however, because the atmosphere was always really bad. The customer service was terrible and the service center itself was sorta dirty. I always felt like I was a bother when I called to ask for an appointment, that's how rude the customer service was. NOT ANYMORE! I called today to ask about some prices on a new battery for my car and a wonderfully polite gentleman by the name of Paul, the new general manager of the location, answered the phone. He gave me a quick price for the battery and when I asked him if I could come in later that very same day he said of course and was very flexible, I could tell he was more concerned with what time was most convenient for me, rather than just getting me to fit their schedule, which was nice. I came in and the service center looked much nicer! A lot of the grease and clutter which was once there, was now gone and everything looked as though it were operating much better. They got my car right in and I was out in about 25 minutes. Paul was very kind to me from the phone call to the end of my service. I really appreciated it. If you have gone and had a bad experience at Monroe Woonsocket, I suggest you give them another shot! Thieves, Thieves, Thieves!! There is a HUGE sign out in the front of the building that says "Oil Changes $21.99 Includes FREE tire rotation". I proceeded to go inside where they did my oil change. I declined the tire rotation because I had just put brand new tires on my truck. When they finished the oil change, my bill was $36.53. I undersand RI sales tax but where did the other $13 and change come from? When I asked the manager "Rocky", he simply tells me that "nothing in this world comes without hidden charges. If you go to Stop and Shop, the sign might say $9.99 for coffee but they will always charge you more for tax." Yes, this is a direct quotation from Rocky! So, in short, my oil change price was almost doubled due to their hidden charges and fees. Buyer BEWARE!! read more

Had it towed to a different shop that does handicapped conversions and found out that the axle had NOT been fixed. The emergency brake was NOT connected. The wrong parts were used. This place is one of the most unprofessional places that I have ever done business with! I would have given it zero stars if I could have. I would not let the so called manager Mike Vargas manage a go cart track, let alone a service facility representing a well known service chain. He is nothing short of an unprofessional ripoff artist. You get quoted one price, & when you go to pick up your vehicle, the price is more than twice what you were quoted. Not only that, but I called to make an appointment one day for the following day for an oil change & a state inspection, & when I arrived for my appointment, I was told by Mike Vargas that the state inspector technician does not work on that day of the week! So needless to say, after setting up alternative transportation so that I could leave my vehicle for service & inconveniencing my friend for a ride & myself, it was all a waste of my time. The response that I received from Mr. Vargas was " Oh well, I can do the oil change for you" If you decide to do business with this facility, make sure that you get everything in writing & definitely don't count on anything that you are told over the phone, including what they can do & when they can do it! There are many service facilities around where you can have your vehicle serviced, do yourself a favor & save yourself the aggravation & stay away from this place!! I brought my car in on New Years day because the heat was no longer blowing out of vents. I was told I needed a new blower motor, and that I also needed new front brakes, rear brakes, and repairs to the tire rod and alignment! I was quoted a price of approx $1400 for all of the work. I needed to hold of on getting the rear brakes done which was about $600, but scheduled the rest of the work for a few days later when they would have the parts. The manager quoted me $162 for the blower motor, he said he didn't know the exact price but he would make sure the approx $800 quoted would be what I paid that day, and he even placed my invoice on the wall so he would remember for when I came back. I dropped my car off a few days later right at 8am (going into work 2 hours late, using my vacation time). An hour later as I'm driving to work I get a call saying the blower motor is actually $475 so instead of paying $800 I'll be paying $1200. I said $400 is a HUGE jump in price and I was told $800 would be what I would pay. The man on the phone said they price they quoted was wrong and they couldn't charge me $800 or they'd lose money. He said the lowest they could go was $1100. I called my husband, who called the shop. Apparently they told my husband they could lower the price to $1000. So apparently for a man the price CAN get a little lower??!! I told them not to touch the blower motor and just do the front brakes, tire rod and alignment. I left work early to pick up the car (using more vacation time), and when my husband, 7 month old baby and I got there at 5:30pm the car still wasn't ready!!! I had to wait around until almost 7 for the car. After picking up the car it started making a horrible noise, squealing and whirring, a noise it never made before. It sounds like something is stuck in the tire or the tire is flat. I brought it to another place to have the blower motor repaired. They quoted me a price for that and the rear brakes that was $500 LESS than what Monro quoted me, and also gave me a rental car free of charge. While working on the car they discovered that the blower motor didn't need to be repaired after all, it was something totally different. I wonder if Monro was going to fix the blower motor, charge me for that, and then tell me something else was wrong and then charge me for that too? And they still can't figure out why my car is suddenly making this noise that it never made before. Anyway as you can see I had a horrible experience, I brought my car in for no heat and suddenly I was out $800 and my car is making a horrible noise and I still had no heat!!! Then they tried to raise the price on me by $400! I will never go to Monro again, not even if they are the only place open on a holiday. read more
