Books they don't have, you can often borrow from other libraries in the network. All of the librarians have always been friendly and helpful. Also there have been many times when my home printer wasn't working and it was a lifesaver to be able to come here and print my documents at a cheap price. My nieces have been…read moregoing here for years to check out their summer books - we have a summer residence in SSP, and Upper Shores is a short car ride (or bike ride) away. Recently, we spent some time here on a rainy day to just read and chill out. First, if you're an avid reader, Upper Shores has a great selection (both in person and online) of books. The library does appear a bit on the small side, but don't let that fool you! In addition, the staff will be happy to order you a book on loan from another library and they're usually there within a day or so. Their loan time on Libby (which you should all download for e-books and audiobooks) is 21 days which is better than my local library at 14 days. The app is also a coinvent way to look up and place a hold on desired books so they can be ready for pickup. As I mentioned, I also spent a wonderful afternoon here with my nieces. We parked ourselves in some comfy chairs and read for a few hours. There is plenty of space to do just that - and I was pleasantly surprised with the free phone charger locker that fast-charged my phone in a matter of minutes. I also know they have a great selection of programs available for kids throughout the summer, too! One thing I will say: it is very difficult to get a library card here. Only tax-paying residents that show proof of address can get a card here. Therefore, my parents are entitled to a card but I (as a member of their household) am not. The same goes for my nieces - even though they are in elementary school, they are not entitled to a card as a member of their parents' household. So I registered my mom for a card and am using her number to take out books. The staff kindly but firmly talked me through this whole process. I understand why, however - there are so many transients in the area, I can see a vacationer borrow books and never give them back. You are entitled to a guest card for 10 dollars if you aren't a taxpayer, however it's only good for four weeks. Regardless, library are important cornerstones of communities, and I am very happy to use / support Upper Shores!

When i booked the venue, the website described the smaller room as the Norwood room which was complete with a working kitchen. Shortly after I booked, the website was updated and the room was renamed to the Greta Van Brut room which only had a warming kitchen - which does not include a range. This was never mentioned to me or brought to my attention. I had hired a caterer who was planning on cooking at the event which is why I booked this particular space. When we arrived, there was nobody there to greet us, the walkway was absolutely COVERED in leaves and they were even inside the room. There was two kitchens in the room and the caterer was extremely confused as to which was meant for use. It turns out that the warming kitchen was the only option. He was unable to cook 3/4th of the menu and I had no food for my event. We spoke to the owner that night and she told me contractually, there was nothing that could be done. This translated to "you paid less for the smaller room so you're out of luck." The baby shower going on next door was full of drunk guests and kids running around everywhere. The guests of the other party decided to have a photo shoot on top of my car without my permission and some girl and her girlfriend tried to fight my mother over a parking spot. There was nobody on site to oversee what was taking place or to assist with any issues. The next door parties music was so loud it could be heard in our room. I paid $750 for this venue and regret every cent that was spent. The owners ignored my emails and concerns when I emailed them the following morning because they know they updated the site well after I booked. I am extremely disappointed and regret trusting them with my event. Please do not waste your time or money here. I will be filing complaints with the city and the BBB

There is a free parking. A pavilion is available that sells snacks and has clean restrooms. Cons: $10 beach tag (okay..not so bad since you don't have to pay to park). Through a Facebook post from Longstreet Farms and The Associated Humane Society of Tinton Falls now I know. Recently a pig named Elmo was rescued from the slaughterhouse in Marlboro. He was sold off when he was no longer needed by the farm. This is not a place I will be bringing my kids to any longer. This is a living history museum. There is no reason for these animals to be bred/sold at any point. This is not a for profit farm. It is a place to learn about historical farming practices. I always thought it was a sanctuary for the animals there. If they cannot care for the animals then they should not be there. Plenty of other ways to teach the community about farms without using live animals for entertainment.
