Another librarian, young woman (nose ring, combat boots, shoulder length hair) could use lessons in speaking to her elders (i'm 60 & found her to be quite condescending). When i complained about people from a healthcare company on cell phones in the QUIET/NO CELL PHONES AREA, she snarled, "GO BUY HEADPHONES!". Ummmm, how about you do your job, ask them not to be on their phones, or find them a space in an unoccupied meeting room? You're lucky to have a town job. Previously, i have been accosted by 2 librarians for moving 2 chairs together, and having one shoe off. My socked foot has a lot less germs than folks wearing flip flops, crocs, and open toed sandals !! I feel singled out because i am here almost every day. Perhaps i should be waving a sign, or wearing a shirt PROUD TO BE..... Isn't clark a stigma free community? Isn't clark a safe community? I've seen THOSE signs on the police department door, the municipal building door, a few businesses' doors, etc., yet i don't feel safe, nor welcomed, at the clark library as a straight, heterosexual, English speaking, White woman. Perhaps the westfield or scotch plains libraries are more accommodating? The acoustics are strange here. There is an open atrium from the first to the second floor. The noise travels up to the second floor quiet area. The kids' area should be in the basement instead of taking up half of the first floor. You can hear every scream, block dropped, chair moved, etc. The check out desk is behind glass. You can hear word the librarians say to the public, their phone ringing, etc.

This library was great for me today as they opened right on the dot at 9:30 am. Earlier than many…read morelibraries and I was able to find a nice and quiet corner where there were power outlets. I pretty much spent the entire day here working. This is a medium-sized branch with a good array of stacks of shelving. There is also a large children's section. Friendly, quiet, a real hidden gem. It is a small parking lot for the library but there is street parking nearby. There was plenty of room for the few patrons who were here and I was not disturbed as I popped out and ate lunch from the van before returning. Another New York Public Library in the NYPL system. Ive been to this location a few times…read morethroughout the past year and haven't had any issues. There isn't much to gloat about but they serve their purpose well. Besides the endless amounts of books you could also utilize their computers, printers, and copiers. They also have music and movies too which is pretty cool if you're looking for a cheap (free) way to expand your music collection. One thing that is nice about this location compared to others is that this library is actually really quiet and is kept that way unlike other locations which tend to be more of a hangout. This location seems to be clean but is dated and needs a facelift which a problem with most NYPL locations. There isn't much more to add. I will continue to use this location and suggest you do too!

The event I attended was the March Mocktail Mixer which we created mocktails inspired by iconic books. The co host @sushalamour who was the mixologist during the event picked great mocktails to curate such as the mockingjay mule which was based on the Hunger Games. The event was put together well and it was a fun afternoon activity. I definitely recommend checking out their events if you are looking for something to do in the Rahway area. It looks like they have events monthly.

There are multiple outlets located on top of the table as well which is great for people who bring their electronic devices. There are also a lot of small couches that can fit 2 people each with tables at each one. This library is extremely quiet and extremely clean, even the bathrooms are very clean. I feel safe there as well because they have a security guard who sits by the front door of the library and occasionally walks around the library. The staff is very nice as well. I've also had great experiences picking up a book from the holding area section. There is also a huge parking lot which is convenient. Many Staten Island libraries do not have parking lots due to the location. I really love this library and will definitely be returning to study.

I have been in this country for more than 20 years plus and I have been to libraries in west coast, mid west , south and north east , by far the rudest staff you can ever find in any library. They feel as the library is their private property and public are exploiting it. They try and make it so difficult for people to reserve and use the conference rooms. Avoid this place like a plague.

For them, I recommend Walmart in Edison.
