We booked a room for 2 hours and then another friend booked the room for the next 2 hours. The librarian came in - Marry, and told us she CANCELED our second reservation, once we checked in for the second reservation, and told us we had to leave, because another group had the room... We were not being disruptive and were simply studying when she interrupted and was so RUDE. She really must have been having a bad day and took it out on three 20-something-year-olds. Extremely rude and unkind. Do not go here waste of your time and not even a great space! AND you have to bring your own HDMI cord... weirdd

I went to the Starbucks in Barnes and Noble in Holmdel this morning and I felt like I should write…read morethis review. I was there when they opened April 24. I bought a cappuccino. After starting to drink it... I realized that this is the one of the worst cups of coffee I had ever attempted to consume. The barista had over over over frothed the milk and it literally tasted like butter. It was gross and not drinkable. I waited in line again and I said "this coffee isn't very good. May I please have a black iced coffee instead?" (This is the simplest easiest drink I could think of. I didn't want to trouble her.). She replies... "what's wrong with it?" Me... "it tastes like a stick of butter" Her..."it's supposed to taste that way. It's frothed milk." Me... "No it's not. I have made and drank many cappuccinos and they are not supposed to taste like a stick of butter. I literally can not drink this." Her... "whatever sir... they are supposed to taste like that...but if you want something else, I'll have to give to you a refund." Me... "the iced coffee and the cappuccino are the same price... does that matter?" Her..."sir. Don't be rude. I'm trying to help you." Then she mumbles under her breath... "I'm not dealing with this shit today." Me... "ma'am why are you being so rude? I can obviously hear you mumbling." Her...again..."I'm trying to help you sir. Go wait over there" Then... she mumbles under her breath more... Makes me an iced coffee with so much ice she can't even put the lid on... and basically throws it at me. I am a regular customer at Starbucks in Long Branch. I worked in food service for 2 decades and have owned restaurants. I am the most polite coffee customer imaginable and this woman was just an awful person to deal with in every way. The coffee was really bad too. I hope someone in charge there sees this and has a word with her.

Out of thousands of students of my school, I was fortunate to go on a trip with 20 others for…read moreBrookdale Community College's Male Minority Conference / Initiative. We were served two meals, breakfast and lunch, along with a motivational speech to start us off and the communcations / media breakout room I went to afterward that just gave helpful life times, pretty general for any medium you want to be a part of. Starting off with the breakfast I enjoyed my everything bagel, chocolate donut, and orange juice. Let me just not go with that combo of the last two again. Next, for brunch I had sausage, eggs, a muffin, bacon, and potatoes. A lot of the food itself doesn't really look appetizing, but then again, it still did taste pretty good (maybe I was just really hungry) and it was all free! And so was everything included that day. Hope to be back in the room where it happens next year. As this is a review of the college, the campus is certainly pretty nice for a community college. It definitely earns its title for best in the state. And staff hold lots of wisdom and are certainly qualified for their roles. In the communications field, the cheap access to all the equipment Brookdale has is a good reason to be in school.

The classes are all "B" able with minimal effort [some very specific program courses like very specific nursing classes etc. aside] and B+/A- able and A able with a bit of effort. You don't have to be a genius to get a 4.0 at Brookdale Community College - you just have to put in a bit of time to do the reading and memorize the stuff the professors told you to memorize. It's pretty basic. But the offerings are very limited. Some sections fill up fast and have wait lists, while the sister face to face classes stack up unfilled. The classes felt like a whole lot of busy work - not a whole lot of learning work - just busy work. The teachers basically want to see that you tried and didn't plagiarize! But that doesn't make you a true expert in the field that you checked the box for when you picked ASSOCIATES in XXXXXXXX

I usually bring a 2 yr old, 8 yr old, and 70+ yr old. ALL of us have a great time at Union Beach. Packing list for a fun day! Picnic blanket (Easy to clean or wash!) Snacks (there are no vending machines etc) Water Beach umbrella for littles (or cover up with long sleeves, hats, & sunblock) Folding chair for elderly Plastic Baskets for each person to collect shells/rocks Sand toys etc Bathrooms are only port a potties - so we never stay long enough to use bathrooms. Keep trips short to 1-2 hrs and you'll be fine!
