Every town has a public library and Long Branch has one of the oldest libraries in the county. I…read moreremember coming in here before they had computers. This library has added a couple of additions throughout the years. It's large and very clean. The staff is very friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable. There are three main floors to the library and computers abound, various reading rooms and a large conference room for private meetings. ESL meets twice a week to help people learn English as a second language. It's a free course throughout the year. Other civic events take place during any particular month, but are too numerous to mention. Restrooms are gender neutral. Most nights the library is open until 8PM. Read something, knowledge is good!!!

Great local library! I have been coming here many years and I love it. I am an avid reader and the…read morelibrary and it's resources like Hoopla and Stella have saved me $1000s in book and audiobook purchases. Books they don't have, you can often borrow from other libraries in the network. All of the librarians have always been friendly and helpful. Also there have been many times when my home printer wasn't working and it was a lifesaver to be able to come here and print my documents at a cheap price. It's also a relaxing place to just sit and read a book!

I borrowed a book from Matawan Library, and it was a wonderful experience. The library is very…read moreclean, well-organized, and has a peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to stay and read. The staff were amazing -- very friendly and helpful. They guided me to the section I needed, helped me find and even hold the exact book I was looking for, and answered all my questions with a smile. Everything in the library worked perfectly, from the checkout process to the seating areas. The vibe of the library is calm and welcoming -- a perfect place to read, study, or just spend some quiet time.

i love this library and i've come here since i was a kid…read more they have a bunch of video games for switch, ps5, xbox, and ps4. when i was a kid they had wii games i'd rent they have a lot of different stuff even more niche stuff like a bunch of manga series and more they have an event calendar for different events at the library for stuff like interactive programs, stuff for black history month, themed activities like learning different art skills and crafts, stuff for pride month, etc. i've never been to any of the events but there's a bunch you can go to. they just added a "sensory space" which is a room upstairs you can fidget around and lay around in and it's pretty cool, the downside is a staff member has to stand in the room while you're in there to make sure nothing goes wrong which is awkward, so i don't go in. the teen section is nice i just wish they didnt get rid of the couch they have dvds, movies, all stuff like that you can rent being able to use the computers and printers is cool, and they just added a kiosk thing recently where you can check out a macbook air or a windows laptop by using your library card which is really cool if you wanna use a laptop. the worst part, which isn't the library's fault; every single time i've ever come in here, which is dozens and dozens of times over my whole life, there is ALWAYS a kid screaming and crying. every time i come, eventually while i'm there some kid starts having a meltdown while their parents let them and it's obnoxious, and the staff does nothing about it. if you actually need to study that might make it hard, but it's usually only one kid and they're usually downstairs in the kid area away from the study/work areas upstairs so at least you can tune it out.

Wall Library is a branch of the Monmouth County public library system. It has been a staple for me…read morefor over 20 years. The place is spacious with plenty of nooks to grab a desk and get into a stack of books/newspapers/magazines or the Internet. One can book a room to have a meeting with the library's approval. What a gem this place is for kids! I admit, I never considered bringing my toddlers to the library…read morebecause I assumed they weren't allowed to make noise there. Who knew this library has a large kids room with baby toys, coloring, little tables, a touch screen computer with learning software, audio books, and hand puppets. Plus they have weekly free classes for kids which were better than the classes I used to pay for elsewhere. My kids had a blast here. This will be my new hangout spot. Plus, the staff were so friendly & helpful.

Crackhead central. Sorry, but so true. I've been to a couple public libraries in the city and this…read moreis perhaps one of the worst. Unfortunately, it is not the staff but it's patrons. I suppose a public place like this attracts all the crowds but this one seems to be a beacon for the unruly. As much as I hate to admit it, I do come here quite a bit to get some monthly reading and occasional writing done. Parking is on the street, so it can be pretty tight since it's near the commercial center of Rockaway Park. If your lucky you'll find some residential street parking or if you are come via train, its the next block over. The staff are alright. I've had minimal interaction and it has usually been hassle-free, so no complaints there. They have a nice little collection of fiction reads and advertisement for local Queens Library Programs on display. The space is small but for the most part clean. They have about half a dozen computers for public use, with the standard 30 minute session. Depending on what time of the day, you will have to wait for usage and it's like the Hunger Games if you go in the evening. I've met all sorts of characters shouting obscenities or ones that just straight up mean mug you. My trips here are brief. Overall, if I don't have to go here I won't, I rather go to the one at Broad Channel for a more peaceful environment.
