The place itself was cool with colorful lights & fun graffiti-like walls, but the aesthetic was let down by the lack of people. We enjoyed the free popcorn & I really liked my drink, the downside up, although I realize it's probably too sweet for most. Unfortunately, the cocktail & popcorn didn't make up for the dead atmosphere & we left pretty quickly. I would be interested in going again & seeing what it would be like when it's lively; I imagine it would be a fun spot when the dance floor is full!

Within the first 15 minutes the bartender also set off the fire alarms with a flaming drink so we had to wait outside for a bit until the fire department shut off the smoke alarms. I've been to several Tiki Bars in California and other locations, this one is pretty low on the Tiki Pole for me unfortunately. If it wasn't so far of a drive I would give them another chance but at this point I would rather just go to Nashville or Indianapolis for my Tiki Fix.

That ended up working perfectly because it was so hot outside that my friends and I wanted as much AC as we could get. We got in and there were few people there. It ended picking up a little after an hour there. My friends and I sat at a large table(there were 6 of us) and played Uno for two hours. We shared some fries and fried pickles. Both were very good and came out hot and fresh, although the fries could have used some salt. The drinks are just what you would expect. The bartenders are always friendly and quick to get or make a drink. Dana's is a great neighborhood bar and a cheap and easy place to go on any night.

It looked a little better downstairs. No food was orderable from upstairs. The bar tender didn't know how to make amaretto sours correctly. My wife had 2 and they both tasted drastically different. They have a small parking lot but we got in. They have an outside patio I guess you can eat and drink there. I can't imagine going there if you had nothing to do with Xavier University.
