The "artist" clearly did not go deep enough as my skin takes to ink very easily (I have dozens of tattoos including my hands and this has never happened). During the tattoo the artist even admitted to being very light handed, which should have been the first red flag. After reaching out to Erik, his only option is for me to fly across the country again or to offer another artist advise on how to touch it up, after I pay for that too. They dropped the ball with this one and won't do anything to make it right. it looks horrible and to make it worse there is so much sentimental value behind the tattoo that you could never put a price tag on. DO NOT recommend.

We were able to set up an appointment over Instagram DMs, but there's a Facebook booking tool as well, which is super convenient! We came into the shop expecting just a consult, but DeShawn and Don Louie were available to tattoo us on the spot! The whole process was not only super comfortable, but we felt a warm, extravagant welcome from start to finish. Both artists' prices were *extremely* fair, and the tattoos look GREAT. Urban Ink Gallery will absolutely be our new go-to spot for all of our tattoo needs! I want to note that the space was super clean and upscale while still being very home-y and welcoming. The art on the walls and throughout the shop is absolutely gorgeous. We even got to talk about music quite extensively (check out the AMAZING mural of Black musical legends right next to the door). So I turned to Yelp -- which definitely came in handy as an Elite member -- and that's how I found Mason. From the very beginning, the communication was easy and comfortable. He listened to my preferences, understood that it had been years since my last tattoo, and made sure I felt at ease the entire time. Not once did I feel uncomfortable. Mason not only has a light hand (which I truly appreciated!), but he also went the extra mile and even played my song music request during the session lol. I was able to capture a few photos and videos, and overall the experience was just great. We've completed session one and have one more session to go -- and I'm already looking forward to it.
