Stopped in while I was sitting in traffic, heading back to SFV because I realized my newer stacked piercing was disappearing into my ear... With that being said, Sam was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. She had me in and out with a longer bar for my stacked piercing and a new earring in less than 20 minutes (and saline spray as well!) Pricey, but with good service and good quality earrings (I got gold), it seemed reasonable. Thank you, Sam for being quick and friendly and making a short visit pleasant! read more

Highly recommend! I originally came in with a pretty simple (and honestly not great) snake drawing, but then I met Olee and she completely transformed it into something so much cooler and more realistic than I could've imagined. She is incredibly talented, attentive, and made me feel comfortable the entire time. She really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and never rushed me, which I appreciated so much. It felt like she genuinely cared about getting every detail just right. We even decided to go much bigger than I had originally planned, and I'm honestly so glad we did because I am absolutely in love with how it turned out. The whole process was way easier than I expected, fairly painless, and I didn't feel a thing afterward. I've gotten so many compliments on the detail and precision of the work. If you're looking for someone who listens, delivers, and elevates your vision, Olee is it. read more

Justin is amazing! My friend and I came in to get matching windmill tattoos and I'm so happy with the design, detailing and shading. Justin was super friendly and made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely be back read more

I went to Ink Monkey to get my first tattoo. When I called earlier the receptionist was very pleasant. She welcomed me and remembered my call. I spoke with the tattoo, artist Max and he put me at ease and explained the process and the consent form . He also made sure to check my Cal ID. His station was clean. He made sure to clean and sanitized everything. I showed him the design I wanted. He made different sizes and helped me choose the best part of my arm to do it. He had some really cool tattoos. He took his time to start. And he was correct it didn't hurt. The tattoo came out beautifully and the way I wanted it. Thank you Max. read more

Super kind and helpful crew - had a piercing from a different place that had gotten angry, these guys are close so I asked if they would take a look. They totally did, knew their stuff, told me what to do, and sent me home free of charge. Shop looks immaculate and clearly a very experienced and professional operation. Highly recommend, will be coming here for my next piercing! read more

i reviewed this bussn on google maps after a disease i got from them and now they say they illegally filmed me as so they film clients while without written permission no one is allowed to film their customers ... unbelieveable ... very upsetting and i will get my lawyer on this case . They are agressive and defensive while not taking responsabilities and doing illegal stuff . They defend which i understand but if u are charged like Beverly hills rates and u get what i got and look at the pictures on their website it seems like they pierced the entire homeless community in the hood for a 5star review ... very very concerning read more

I went here on Friday to get my nose re pierced. The service was quick and they were kind. The frustrating thing is I was pierced with an extra long rod for swelling which in truth does make sense but maybe they don't account for a narrow nose. Im out 5 days and the stud sticks out like crazy not to mention it gets hooked on everything. I just wish for getting a piece of jewelry it didn't look so silly. I called and they told me to leave it for 7 weeks. It's just not what I was imagining. Everyday that passes the longer and longer it sticks out it's a shame it's ugly because I was really excited. I also was not told about the extra long rod until after it was in my face. I'm sure when it comes time to get one I actually like I'll just have to pay more money for a piece I actually like. read more

I visited IMT on three different occasions and enjoy good experiences during each visit! This last visit was especially memorable for me and two family members who also got 'inked' largely due to the artist we worked with. Her name is OLEE and she was absolutely wonderful. She listened intently to what each of us wanted, she took care in preparing to do her work, as she was etching our chosen designs she kept us informed about where she was in the process! She was polite, sensitive, and all of us felt 'seen' by her. It did not feel like we were just another customer! We will return only to her ... as early as next week! read more

Today I went to Ink Monkey to get my lobes pierced and ask a question about how to approach fixing a tattoo I got when I was in my 20's. The website made it clear that piercings were done on a walk-in basis, so I went over on my lunch break. I was immediately helped, asked questions about what kind of piercing I wanted, and then taken to the piercing room. The process was almost completely painless (getting shots has hurt more) and they were very clear about what aftercare I needed to do as well as asking that I come back in five weeks to adjust the backing of the piercing since they make it large enough to account for swelling. After paying for the piercings (thank you again!) I spoke with a tattoo artist about fixing my old tattoo. I knew my options might be to either go in with white ink or to get it removed, and the artist explained that removal/cover up were really the only options. She was incredibly knowledgeable and explained that the white ink molecules are smaller than the black ink molecules, so white won't ever really cover up black ink once it all heals, so now I have a plan for how to approach fixing it. Everyone was so helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The studio was clean and calm, and I will absolutely be going back for more piercings and future tattoos! read more

UPDATE: Owner got my number, and called with the intention of yelling at me? I tried to have a conversation and it was extremely unproductive and I literally had to hang up... all this over a yelp review? are you guys okay? Also understandably, please don't contact me Just want to clarify my weird experience- they WILL BOOST PRICES IF THE STORE IS BUSIER, read what they wrote. I went in 2 days after initially coming in for a jewelry change for my ear piercing. I initially asked to exchange the jewelry, since I genuinely can't get it in and out, never a refund. They said no which I understand, but after, 3 people total talked to me. I asked multiple times if there was anything they could do- not ONCE did they offer to help change the jewelry, which I only took out for the MRI. Only after I asked if they could help put it back in, they said, yes, for $20. This is when they told me "I have to eat." I understand the need to earn a living- but I genuinely couldn't figure out the jewelry. To me you would want your customer to be satisfied. I also came in 2 days later, genuinely thinking they'd be willing to help me out. They did NOT offer to help me. Mind you- the price increased $10 from what I initially paid. I would've paid $10 since I couldn't get it back in- I literally drove there because nobody I knew could do it-but yes I was unwilling to have the price increase to $20? They've now tripled down on their poor customer service- don't come here. You can read their response to me yourself, Extremely weird. read more

While visiting home I got the urge for some new ink. I already had in mind the design, placement, etc. I just needed a talented artist to bring my vision to life. Especially something as personal and significant as this design. The reviews for this shop were great and I loved the art that was posted. Everyone was super nice and professional. Second tattoo here by two separate artist. And I am still digging both of them. You honestly can't go wrong with an artist at this spot. This piece was a micro tattoo and he did a fantastic job! Plus he was cute. Always nice when ya got a cute guy touching ya lol and involved in your conversations. This place was busy. Lots of appointments, lots of walk-ins. For both art and piercings. Went in for jewelry shortening and consultation. I was a walk in and the service was prompt and friendly

We flew in from out of state to come back to our hometown and my husband was so excited for us to get tattoos at the first place he got tattooed while we were living here. We set time aside from our crammed travel schedule (this is not a vacation) to come to this specific spot. We made an appointment with Shady Thursday/Friday prior to a Sunday appointment. We sent in the images and our desired adjustments as well as size and location, with him responding. We paid our $50 deposit ($52.50 after taxes). We arrived 15 minutes early to him working on not one but two walk-ins that were slotted ahead of us. We sat our entire scheduled appointment and then some, silently. Finally, after having sat for almost 2 hours, he calls us over and shows us a print out of the references we sent. No sketch, no mock up, just a print out like he intends to trace the entire thing as line art. I hope the woman I spoke to had a good conversation with him about his professionalism, or lack there-of. I asked for and received my deposit of $50 in cash even though it said on the form it wasn't refundable, and it was honestly the correct thing for them to do. Incredibly disappointing, I'll have to find another spot if we can even find one at all after losing our afternoon here. For a shop that has "no whining" and "actions speak louder than words" plastered everywhere, I'm surprised they put their clients though such a terrible time. read more

Got my belly button pierced here and absolutely loved it! I had some fears about the health and wellness of some recent piercings I had gotten at a different tattoo shop in Hollywood but I've always known ink monkey to be a very reputable place in LA. . I was able to stop in and swap my new piercings out with their really awesome resident piercer now TWO HAWKS for the smaller sizes and just have everything checked out. and I can confidently say that I went from feeling like my piercings were potentially all infected or just not healing well to now not only is my Monroe, but my dermal which dermals are tricky but two other piercings I have are now doing all really well, and I got much more informative advice on how to properly clean them which I was told not to do so you really have to becautious and smart about who you go to and who you trust and listen to about piercings and I really can tell you that Two -hawks knows what he's doing so if you're gonna go get pierced read more

I came in as a walk-in after my nose ring fell out and was in and out within 10 minutes. Their piercer Two Hawks had just come back from grabbing lunch and he was kind enough to assist me before his break. The staff was extremely cool, kind and calm. The actual piercing took less than a couple minutes and was painless. Everything was clean, sanitary and well organized. Two Hawks is a very calm, cool guy and I felt comfortable unlike some tattoo or piercing shops can be intimidating for a woman. The selection of jewelry is incredible; they have so many pretty pieces that are up to date, original and not things you see at every other shop. There was more than enough parking in the back despite being on a busy road. Overall this is the place to go in Venice for piercings, and from what I saw in their art books in the lobby, it's the place to find a really cool tattoo also! Thanks everyone, you guys rock. read more
