I went to Ink Monkey to get my first tattoo. When I called earlier the receptionist was very pleasant. She welcomed me and remembered my call. I spoke with the tattoo, artist Max and he put me at ease and explained the process and the consent form . He also made sure to check my Cal ID. His station was clean. He made sure to clean and sanitized everything. I showed him the design I wanted. He made different sizes and helped me choose the best part of my arm to do it. He had some really cool tattoos. I went here on Friday to get my nose re pierced. The service was quick and they were kind. The frustrating thing is I was pierced with an extra long rod for swelling which in truth does make sense but maybe they don't account for a narrow nose. Im out 5 days and the stud sticks out like crazy not to mention it gets hooked on everything. I just wish for getting a piece of jewelry it didn't look so silly. I called and they told me to leave it for 7 weeks. It's just not what I was imagining. Everyday that passes the longer and longer it sticks out it's a shame it's ugly because I was really excited. I also was not told about the extra long rod until after it was in my face. I'm sure when it comes time to get one I actually like I'll just have to pay more money for a piece I actually like. read more

I went in 2 days after initially coming in for a jewelry change for my ear piercing. I initially asked to exchange the jewelry, since I genuinely can't get it in and out, never a refund. They said no which I understand, but after, 3 people total talked to me. I asked multiple times if there was anything they could do- not ONCE did they offer to help change the jewelry, which I only took out for the MRI. Only after I asked if they could help put it back in, they said, yes, for $20. This is when they told me "I have to eat." I understand the need to earn a living- but I genuinely couldn't figure out the jewelry. To me you would want your customer to be satisfied. I also came in 2 days later, genuinely thinking they'd be willing to help me out. They did NOT offer to help me. Mind you- the price increased $10 from what I initially paid. I would've paid $10 since I couldn't get it back in- I literally drove there because nobody I knew could do it-but yes I was unwilling to have the price increase to $20? Today I went to Ink Monkey to get my lobes pierced and ask a question about how to approach fixing a tattoo I got when I was in my 20's. The website made it clear that piercings were done on a walk-in basis, so I went over on my lunch break. I was immediately helped, asked questions about what kind of piercing I wanted, and then taken to the piercing room. The process was almost completely painless (getting shots has hurt more) and they were very clear about what aftercare I needed to do as well as asking that I come back in five weeks to adjust the backing of the piercing since they make it large enough to account for swelling. After paying for the piercings (thank you again!) I spoke with a tattoo artist about fixing my old tattoo. I knew my options might be to either go in with white ink or to get it removed, and the artist explained that removal/cover up were really the only options. She was incredibly knowledgeable and explained that the white ink molecules are smaller than the black ink molecules, so white won't ever really cover up black ink once it all heals, so now I have a plan for how to approach fixing it. Everyone was so helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The studio was clean and calm, and I will absolutely be going back for more piercings and future tattoos! read more

We flew in from out of state to come back to our hometown and my husband was so excited for us to get tattoos at the first place he got tattooed while we were living here. We set time aside from our crammed travel schedule (this is not a vacation) to come to this specific spot. We made an appointment with Shady Thursday/Friday prior to a Sunday appointment. We sent in the images and our desired adjustments as well as size and location, with him responding. We paid our $50 deposit ($52.50 after taxes). We arrived 15 minutes early to him working on not one but two walk-ins that were slotted ahead of us. We sat our entire scheduled appointment and then some, silently. Finally, after having sat for almost 2 hours, he calls us over and shows us a print out of the references we sent. No sketch, no mock up, just a print out like he intends to trace the entire thing as line art. I hope the woman I spoke to had a good conversation with him about his professionalism, or lack there-of. I asked for and received my deposit of $50 in cash even though it said on the form it wasn't refundable, and it was honestly the correct thing for them to do. Incredibly disappointing, I'll have to find another spot if we can even find one at all after losing our afternoon here. For a shop that has "no whining" and "actions speak louder than words" plastered everywhere, I'm surprised they put their clients though such a terrible time. read more

I was able to stop in and swap my new piercings out with their really awesome resident piercer now TWO HAWKS for the smaller sizes and just have everything checked out. and I can confidently say that I went from feeling like my piercings were potentially all infected or just not healing well to now not only is my Monroe, but my dermal which dermals are tricky but two other piercings I have are now doing all really well, and I got much more informative advice on how to properly clean them which I was told not to do so you really have to becautious and smart about who you go to and who you trust and listen to about piercings and I really can tell you that Two -hawks knows what he's doing so if you're gonna go get pierced read more

I came into Inkmonkey as a first time walk-in customer. I wasn't sure if they were crazy busy but I took my chances and walked in. It was on a Friday afternoon and hardly no customers were there. In fact, I was their first customer of the day, so I got lucky with how quick the process took. Marcus and Giuseppe were the guys who made my vision come to life. They did such a phenomenal job and I can't thank them enough for doing such an outstanding job on me. Marcus did the sketching on his sketch pad. The outline was above and beyond what I had expected. He had an appointment he needed to attend to with another customer right when he was about to work on me, so Giuseppe took over and worked his magic with the ink. I am in awe of how clean the image looks on my skin. Guiseppe is so talented and the intricate work he's done on mines tells you his craft is well perfected. I went there to get a tattoo and red ink on my neck when I left the tattoo place it was dark red the second day after I got it the tattoo and ink had completely faded to wear the word wasn't recognizable and I'm literally looked like nothing was there if you know that the ink is going to lighten up then you should tell the customer that before they get a tattoo or better yet as a tattoo artist just switch to a better grade of ink cost me $250 this is the second time it's happened at the shop I'm so completely pissed Pink monkey sucks don't ever f****** go there it's ridiculous that they know the ink fades like that they don't switch to a better ink and yet they don't tell the customer and they charge an outward just price they should be shut down read more
