Rabble Rouser is a very cool and clean tattoo shop near Venice beach with a stable of amazing artists and so much interesting decor on the walls, it's easy to get distracted while you're getting inked, looking for all the hidden art gems. I recently got a tattoo from Alayna and gave her the direction of, "A kitten, but make it cute and angry." She did not disappoint. When I showed up for my appointment, she was ready with a page full of designs that were all so perfect, I had trouble deciding. Honestly, I would have gotten them all if I could have. I eventually chose one, and in less than an hour, she had it on my skin with perfect color and shading while chatting the entire time. To me that's the mark of a true professional, someone who is such an expert in their field, they can just do it on instinct. So ... I haven't had a tattoo for 40 years. In the days that we got our little piece of flash everyone always asked us if we were biker chicks which is really funny to me considering how body art has evolved. I love Alayna's work so much but tried to get in touch with her several times and never had any luck. Before covid she was booked up for ever. I saw that they were having a Valentine's Day flash sale and wanted to test out the waters again before I went for something bigger and bolder. I read good things about Jim Parchen and booked a little flash heart paw with him right over my ankle bone. Lol. It was easy peasy and I plan to add to it in the near future, get my old one redone and maybe get something really big and bold. I apologize for the long review but it is so worth it! Let me just say if i could give them 10 stars i would! I have gotten a tattoo before at a not so good shop in my home town, so getting a second on i really did my research. After looking around at the shops around my house in LA ( i like to keep my spending locally) i came across Rabble Rouser. Now to give you context of my situation, i messaged the shop on New Years Eve and was not expecting a response since it was a holiday but i was inquiring about the next day (New Years Day) just to see what could happen so i can get some fresh ink for the new year. After messaging the shop i got almost in immediate response saying that they will for sure look into in bc they normally are not open that day but wanted to check and see if anyone would be at the shop. Pleasantly surprised i was ecstatic by just the possibility of it happening. About and hour or so (after mid night) i got another message saying that there will be someone there and what time would i like, i chose a time and we where all set. I really appreciated the responsiveness of the inquiry and that it was such a great experience for the get go. We arrived at the shop, being the first ones there as we where early, and as we check the door Paul (the shop owner) comes up to great us and opens the shop. He was so kind, knew my name and offered us water or anything we needed. We told him to take his time as we were in no rush, and agter about 20 min already had my tattoo printed and sized (after a brief convo about placement) he got the size and style right off the bat and he re drew it, which was great. He prepped his station and showed me all the needles he was going to use which where all in sterilized medical packaging. As we start tattooing he constantly checked in with me to make sure i was ok and had great conversations. After we where all done he bandage me up (even let me pick my bandage color) and we went over care of the tattoo and he sent me home with a "after care" package. Also my tattoo is everything i wanted and more! Overall this experience was AMAZING and the attention to detail went above expectations and was by far the best experience i have ever had. I will forever be coming to this shop for any future work and i HIGHLY recommend this shop and Paul was just the best! read more

This review has been a long time coming, I just wanted to wait till my tattoos were fully healed before I wrote it~ I had been researching tattoo parlors in my area because I really was itching for a new tattoo. I had designed my axolotl tattoo and wanted someone who was clean with their lines, and good with color. I found Rabble Rouser through Yelp, and liked the photos I saw. I also went on the Rabble Rouser website to go through all the artists portfolios and liked what I saw even more! In mid October I was ready to get my tattoo done, so I had just walked in to see if there was any availability and I was lucky enough to have Luis House tattoo me that day. The studio was VERY clean, and I loved the decor inside. Luis was very easy to talk to, and very professional. I told him the basic colors I wanted, but I told him other than that he was free to do whatever with the background and shading. It turned out perfect! I love the water and little bubble details he had added to my design! The colors are so vivid, and the line art is perfect! Once my axolotl tattoo healed up, I was wanting to get another done once I heard about the Halloween flash event that they were having. When I went I saw a really cute skeleton bat design that was done by Alayna Magnan. I asked if the tattoo could be done in purple and green inks, and she said yes. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out! The colors are so vibrant and the line art is so clean. I can't thank Luis and Alayna enough. I get complimented on my tattoos all the time! So i've been getting tattoos from Alayna Magnan since March of '11. The quality of her work is impeccable. It's up there with the best work of any great artist you're gonna find. But that's just a part of the whole experience. She's so much fun and amazing as a person that the sessions just fly by. As soon as i'm done i cannot wait for our next appointment! And as a professional artist, there's no comparison. She actually listens to my ideas and suggestions and incorporates them even if it's last minute shit. But her take on the art is so incredible that i almost always defer to whatever direction or recommendation she makes because it's usually a perfect suggestion. As for the shop itself, it's clean and up to any standards. There are no bullshit panels with stupid stock tattoos all over the place. It's truly a custom shop by any definition. Ok, hats off to Louis and The whole team here! I have to say after visiting several shops and because I wasn't getting my ink done in Rome while on vacation and then walk around and Fly 11hours so I decided to wait until I got home and find a place. RRT had some good reviews and what I did was go around and check some places out and as with most places I went with my 1st. Impression and gut feeling, after all I am a great judge of character and no one else was going to make this decision for me! I walked into Rabble Rouser Tattoo and asked the general questions and then showed my image and I was asked to hold on one moment and let the receptionist (who was pleasant, smiling and super nice)to go get an artist for me. Not a minute later Luis came up introduced himself , handshake and took a look a the piece and was confident he could definitely do it and had me send it to him via email. The piece was ready to go and made into a larger format that I wanted and the placement was dead on first shot!! ( not an easy task but it' was spot on! Within 10 minutes he was set up in his station and ready to go, having had tattoos before he said still offered to go over everything and what to expect but I was ready and off we went! Now let me say this, the shoppe itself is very relaxing, cool, clean and modern but this place is not brand new, however, it is not worn and torn for being in business for the time it has been. They take care of their stuff and the place is impeccably well taken care of! Luis was personable and talked here and there while going at his craft with great skill and I was pretty amazed because tattoo etiquette usually is that the artist doesn't converse while working, which is understandable but this was different. The whole time he was asking how I was doing, took his time, I didn't feel like he was rushing through, the music was jumping and it was all in all a great experience. Once Luis got done, he went over the aftercare and cleaned it up and had me take a look in the mirror and I did everything not to jump up and act like a ape in heat it was frickin awesome! I did go crazy on my social media pages and the reactions from friends and family was the Same! Another great thing about these guys is for every $100 you spend you get these chips and at the front of the shop are 4 jars for 4 different charities and you put a chip in any of the jars and they make a donation to that charity, which is pretty kick ass, they're giving back and paying forward and making art! I can't wait to get back and get some other ink done with Luis pretty soon too. We happened upon Rabble Rouser while having dinner in the area and were immediately impressed by the interior of the shop itself. This is an incredibly well cared for space that feels both totally sterile and yet still warm and inviting. After looking through several books we landed on artist Alayna Magnan (not finding out until much later that she owns the shop and is somewhat of an ink celeb). Alayna's art is so crisp and clean, it was an immediate match. I needed to cover/upgrade an old tat on my hip, and add to one on my shoulder. Alayna took her time in listening to my needs, sketching things out, being sensitive to accuracy and my finickiness about the specifics. Because Alayna is so ridiculously dope at what she does - appointments are booked months out. We put down a deposit and scheduled for a few months out. (PS: "we" is me and my husband, he's scheduled for his in a couple of weeks) When I arrived for my appointment Alayna took time and diligence to sit and make every single detail perfect. She made me feel very comfortable to adjust tiny details and make it exactly how I wanted it, (So many ink artists push you towards what they want...) while still giving her expert advice so the tattoo would look as good as possible. The task was to do two small-ish tats in one sitting. One on my hip and the other on my shoulder. Alayna was careful, precise, and yet executed with expediency. Both tats were done in under 2 hours. After we were finished Alayna walked me through aftercare very thoroughly and I felt confident I would be able to do what was asked (her aftercare is next level future shit) More importantly than all of these logistic details that went so well, is that the ink itself looks so good it makes me laugh out loud. These are the two most beautiful, artistic, realistic pieces of art I could imagine for my body. I am over the moon with what she did and how it looks. I cannot wait to come up with another reason to get a tat from Alayna or from Rabble Rouser in general. This shop is legit, the artists are on point, and the experience is top-notch. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Rabble Rouser and Luis!! Today is the day after my 18th birthday and I decided I wanted a butterfly tattoo ASAP.
