Didn't now about Moni's in this area until I seen it mention on the net. Decided to give it a try for ourselves even though there were many negative reviews. The place was clean, the waitress was pleasant, but only 3 others in the restaurant. Didn't take long for the food to arrive. My husband ordered the cod. There were only four small and very, very thin pieces for $9.00. Not very good he said. He gets better at Joe-Jo's all you can eat on Wednesday and Friday's for $10.99 and they are large pieces and as many as you want. So he wasn't impressed. I thought since there was good reviews on the breakfast I'd try the 2 for 2. My scrambled eggs were cold, my bacon I asked for crispy and wasn't, my hash browns were cold and just lightly cooked. That was ok because I don't like them cooked hard, but I do like my food HOT. Toast was soaked with margarine and I don't like margarine. That was my fault I should of asked if they use butter or margarine. In all for $22.00 with tip for one dinner, one breakfast, a coffee and a tea it was not that good and will not go again. I look at reviews, but also like to try it myself even if there are bad reviews because it could just be a bad day for cook and staff. Now I'll add my review of our experience and there are to many other restaurants with better food and served hot to go to around here. Ordered a Ruben and there was like one slice of meat balled up in the center of the bread. My wife ordered a coney and I sampled it with a fry and it was awful. Not likely to go back for dinner, maybe breakfast is better. read more

Good prices but Rice was sticky and no flavor, tomato sauce heavily spiced and put freely on stuffed peppers and rice side, too strong for our tastes. Stir fry only edible. Pass. read more

Went there for breakfast and not good. 1st order for a vegi omelette came with some type of gyro meat in it. 2nd order for a meat lovers omelette was lacking. The egg was so thin you could not even taste it. The best part was the frozen hash browns which they took back and put in a microwave to heat up while the rest of the food sat and got cold. If you cannot even cook hash-browns correctly then maybe the restaurant business is not what you should be doing. read more

A hidden gem! Excellent breakfast selection, clean, fast and friendly service. Went at 10 am and were seated immediately. The only thing that would've made it better is the addition of a mimosa or Bloody Mary. read more

The food is mediocre. The atmosphere is somewhat full of tension. I was a waiter at this restaurant six months ago and witnessed something very disturbing. The cook wiggled his way out the kitchen and was stealing tips from the tables and robbing my fellow waitress coworkers. Cheap assholes. read more

I and my family have been eating here since they opened. We were worried that they wouldn't survive the road reconstruction on 24 Mile Road that took forever...but they did thankfully. Owners and waitresses are friendly and very family oriented. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner and all are good. The service is fast and prices reasonable. Food is high quality and well prepared and good quantity. We like the various breakfast selections....the 2 by 2 with two eggs, choice of meat, toast, jelly, pancakes is my favorite. The French toast is popular too. We all like the strawberry/lettuce salad with grilled chicken for lunch, we like that instead of fries with lunch you can opt for a nice salad. My wife and I have had most of the dinner selections although we really like the homemade stuffed green peppers, get there early as they go quick. It is kept very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. Note that the description of the city they are located in is wrong...it is in Macomb Twp. which is next to Shelby. It is between Romeo Plank and Hayes on 24 Mile Rd. One nice extra they have is free fast WIFI available for patrons. There are a few other nice restaurants in the area but Moni's stand out for quality of food, service and price. read more

That was the most horrible dining experience I've encountered. My mom and I were seated for nearly 10 minutes before her coffee came. We ordered our omelettes which arrived promptly (actually so quickly that it made me suspect that the egg "patties" I'll call them were precooked and just thawed out to be served), but were HORRIBLE. I ordered a cheese one which was basically eggs cooked and a piece of American cheese thrown in at the end of cooking so it was hardly melted. Then, I asked the waitress if she could please take back my omelette. I was expecting her to return with egg and cheese all mixed/stirred in a bowl and cooked together as an omelette. NOPE. She returned with my exact same plate of food (as evidenced by the missing bites I had taken prior) with some cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and microwaved. I knew it was microwaved because my plate was hot!! I want to know how many health code violations they broke by bringing my food plate back into their kitchen to reheat instead of just doing me the courtesy of making me a new omelette. So I told the waitress I just simply didn't want this breakfast anymore and she could take it all back. She returned with our check and my meal was still on there! After an experience like that, you'd expect them to do the fair thing and take my meal off the bill. So we went up to the register to pay, and asked the man if he could subtract that portion as we did not eat it. He went over to the cook to "verify" that I had returned that food and he came back and said he was only going to subtract HALF! I firmly explained that no, we would not be paying for any of it. In the most patronizing tone of voice, he said "Okay honey calm down." So after I pulled out my phone and calculated exactly how much change I ought to be getting back, he counted it out, handed it to me and said, "Okay, you good now?" (Again very patronizing and flat out disrespectful) Then had the audacity to lift up the bowl of suckers and ask me if I would like one....as if I were a toddler!! The waitress tried to tell us to have a nice day as we left and said she hopes to be seeing us again soon, and we said "Well don't worry...you won't." That was the worst food, worst customer service, and overall worst restaurant experience I've had. I will be filing a complaint later on this afternoon. read more
