After a long day of driving was ready for a bite to eat and came to Monical's to grab some pizza to go. I've really only seen their name on the highway food/restaurants signs, and those restaurants I feel like tend to be a little meh so my expectations were dampened. BUT all the reviews here were so high I didn't know what to expect. Didn't realize I was going to have one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten before. We ordered the Rams Special which is like a supreme pizza but with bacon which makes it the best supreme pizza I've had. We demolished that pizza. Besides that we ordered at the counter and they were very quick with the order, I feel like we didn't have to wait very long for the pizza, especially considering this is a sit down restaurant as well. We camped at Lake Shelbyville Illinois, for nine years now. Monical's are great, they deliver within 20-30 min. There is others deliveries pizza places we went through them all. We found Monical's crust and toppings are more desirables. We order a 10" deep dish with 3-4 topping's along with best club-sub all are delivered nice and hot. It's worth a nice tip to the delivery person to eat a nice hot Monical's pizza a sandwiches at the camp fire. Keep up these campground deliveries. Thank you. read more

Let me begin by stating that I did not step inside this establishment. I was lodging at the White Tail Crossings Cabins with my boyfriend and his family and decided we did not want to cook dinner and in our internet search we came upon Monical's. We were a little disappointed that we fell outside of their delivery zone so we drove. I was happy that they had a no dairy or meat specialty pizza on the menu, that in itself got me excited to try Monical's. To me it was the perfect mix of soft and crunchy dough, fresh toppings and tasty sauce. If I ever return to the area I will definitely visit again! read more

This place is wonderful and actually my families favorite for pizza! I really love that Monical's pizza has a gluten free pizza crust and take precautions when you inform them of your allergy. I'm celiac and have not gotten sick at this location. Finding somewhere I can eat in Shelbyville is very hard while visiting. Solid choice for pizza in the Shelbyville area. Love that they have both thin and pan crust so everyone can be happy! I got a personal pan cheese and my boyfriend and friend got Rams special. The pizza was so good that my boyfriend ate cold leftovers the next day and he normally hates cold pizza! Our service was also great! Back in my hometown area for the first time in 15 years and their pizza tasted just like it did back then. Even better. As a chef that has worked in the best restaurants across this country I can tell you that their pizza isn't like everyone else's. It's not New York Style, it's not Chicago style, it's Monical's style. Thin crust packed with juicy ingredients that make you so happy. The cracker thin crust that is both light but has enough tooth to it to give you some pull to it. We ordered 6 pizzas at the cabins by the lake and they all were spot on. We had a dairy free pizza with no cheese which was still juicy, salty, savory; flavorful and fulfilling. Thank you Monical's for delivering on proven recipes that work extremely well. Thank you for making my whole trip up from New Orleans to see my family in my old stomping grounds worth the trip.
