Passed this place many times and was curious to try. You pay for your bowl size and drink first. Our total was like $40 for one regular one large and 2 drinks. They scoop your sauce - you have a choice of: lemon juice, oyster juice, bbq juice, chili oil and garlic. Then you get to stack on however much fits in the bowl. Everything was clean and appealing. You have to let the cook know if you want noodles or rice before they automatically add noodles to your veggies. It smelled and looked good but the flavor was not it.. I don't know how this place was so popular. My plate tasted like salt water? There was no sweet or savory teriyaki type sauce. The red chili bottle on the side was the only thing that had flavor but it was spicy. I wouldn't come back here..

Large bowl for $17.95, sauces are in the clear cup, and my Fuze iced tea is in the white cup on the grey tray.

Haven't had Mongolian BBQ in a few years and was fired up to see Mong Q. This was my third time at Mong Q and each time has been excellent! Fresh offerings, quick and courteous service, so you know I'll be back!

My husband and I came here as I was craving to have some noodles. The way it works is that you pick your size of plate, veggies, meat and they cook it. I thought it was really good. The small has plenty of food. My husband has the bigger size and thought it was too big. Will consider returning again

Mong Q is a great new addition to the annex at the collection. I'm happy to see that they are plenty busy and that this is a cool new spot to come for lunch or dinner when you want something quick but filling. At Mong Q you start out with a cup of sauces that you pick which are poured for you by the cashier. Then you load up your own meats and veggies. It's nice not having to worry about the noodles, as they'll load the noodles for you themselves at the end. Appreciate this as it leaves less of a mess. However, if you are on who likes more / extra noodles, then you'll have to pay for that upfront since you can load your own noodles to your bowl. I have no issues with that as the portion size is plenty. The cashier Chris was super nice and helpful for my first time. Kudos to the nice staff that work here and make Mongolian bbq approachable. The food overall was pretty good. For the price you get a hefty portion and the flavors were good. I loved all of the vegetable options they had and that everything looked fresh and the counters were clean. At the end of the row they have sauces so you can make your own flavors at the end. I put a bit of soy sauce and sesame oil and it was very tasty. This is definitely a spot worth trying next time you are at the annex.

First time EVER having Mongolian BBQ . This spot is at the Annex food hall at The Collection in Oxnard . I chose the large bowl and packed as much goodies as I could. The pork was a little tough but the beef was cooked well. I added tofu and a ton of veggies . I think I could have done a better job at packing more in my bowl though lol! We paid and took our bowl over to the grill. The gentleman working the grill wasn't chatty at all as the cashier was but I understand he is cooking. No worries. Our bowls were cooked and we sat at a booth in The Annex which was popping on a Friday. Tons of people out enjoying the different spots there . Loved the vibes! Huge portion and I ate it all. I think next time, I would not get the lemon sauce . I didn't love the flavor. Overall, I really did enjoy my plate and had zero leftovers. I think the customer service is good for what it is :)

Didnt realize this was here in place of the waffle stick place. Definitely don't miss it when mongolian BBQ is around. Uhhhhh. quick, easy mong bbq. Regular or large bowl options. You fill your own bowl with what you want and then slide over to the cook where he take your bowl and start the sizzling. They add the noddles for you. As far as I can tell, only one type of noodle. We was great. Love this!!! Best spot in the Annex at the collection.

This is a great place to get Mongolian BBQ. You don't really see much restaurants that have this style of cooking. I usually see them in malls. It brings me back to my childhood where I would go with my dad to the mall and we would share half with each other. So this experience was pretty nostalgic. They had a lot of choices of meat, veggies, and sauces. You first pick your sauces. You can choose the amount of spice that is put in. The next part is the meat and there's a whole row of veggies after. We definitely overflowed it to get more bang for our buck. The noodles are thrown in on the side when they cook it. We got an extra side of noodles and we split the container into two for my bf and I and we were full with some left to spare! Overall, I really enjoyed the food here and it's a super convenient location from where I live at. I'll definitely be back again :)

This is the spot to hit! It was my first time trying this place so I was a little unsure of how everything worked even after the kind worker explained it. After watching others I realized all the different combos one can try. This is a great place for fresh veggies and good carbs! One of the best noddles I had in a while!

We are so happy to have Mongolian bbq in Oxnard. The one closest to us use to be at the TO mall but now we can just drive 10 mins to the collection. It was a bit salty for my taste. I think they put too much sauce. I think they can improve this. I think they're generous with their portions like noodles and allowing us to self serve the meat and veggies I do wish there were tomatoes. Service was fast. Crowd wasn't too long. Overall 4 stars!

Recently came in on Monday about 15 minutes after they opened and was surprised to see the lunch rush starting already! Portion sizes were solid and they know it seeing that it's cooked and served right into a togo container. I had visited one other time in the evening and while there was no line, I did feel the food was much saltier. Luckily for lunch, it was seasoned just right. Seating and vibe was typical of The Annex and I was able to find a seat, but I can imagine how this might be more difficult after 12pm.

I don't know why this place has bad reviews. The veggies were all super fresh. It's the best Mongolian because they let you stuff your bowl and it included noodles separately so you don't have to stuff those in!!! The only one thing that would make this place better is having sesame seeds to put on top. But their spicy hot sauce is 10/10. Staff was super nice including the cook!

A piece of glass in my meal

We frequent this spot. You get a good amount of food for a decent price. The staff is always chill and friendly. However, as I was eating my meal this past week, I started crunching on something really hard! Like break a tooth hard. It was a piece of glass!!!! I'm not sure how it got in there but obviously Thai is very dangerous. Glad I actually chew my food slowly otherwise this could've ended up bad.

This is our first time eating at this place. They're inside The Annex in The Collection Oxnard. We paid for the Large bowl; the cashier asked me if I want spicy or mild. I chose mild since spicy and my stomach do not get along. Normally when we go to a Mongolian restaurant, we piled up the bowl with all the ingredients and then we top it off with noodles. Here at Mong Q, we just needed to pile it with everything but the noodles. The noddles is the same amount whether you buy a small bowl or a big bowl which I think is wrong. If I wanted more noodles, I could pay $3 extra. What???!!! The way they cook is they keep flipping the food around this big grill pan. Unfortunately for me, the food in front of mine had a spicy sauce so my food got spicy too. I ended up having peppers in my food. It was an interesting experience but for me it is good for 1x visit only.

5/5 -- A Hidden Treasure in Oxnard!…read more If you're hunting for a true comfort-food haven this winter, Ozeki Noodle is the little gem you'll want to keep all to yourself... but it's way too good not to share. The ambience is calm, clean, and quietly inviting--like Oxnard's own little pocket of Japan. The service? Warm, attentive, and wonderfully efficient. You know what truly makes this place? The authentic food. Every dish feels crafted with care. I love being able to sit down with a steaming cup of hot green tea, the most delicious tempura, a spicy tuna hand roll that never misses, and a bright, refreshing seaweed salad--without having to wait forever for seating or service. If you're starving, this is where you want to land for fast, delicious comfort. And the star of the show: the chicken bowl. I promise you will not find a chicken bowl this good anywhere else. Tender, flavorful, and so satisfying it deserves its own fan club. The tempura? Feathery, crisp perfection--easily the best in Ventura County. No exaggeration needed. Their miso is a warm winter hug, and the combo with the chicken bowl + rice + a large bowl of udon is the definition of cozy luxury. The broth is rich, the noodles are plush and filling, and you'll leave full with leftovers to smile at later. If you want authentic Japanese comfort, fast service, and food that feels like it was made just for you, Ozeki Noodle is your new cold-weather sanctuary.

The slices of galbi are pretty thin but I liked the way it tasted. The portion of the whole order was just right as well. I would definitely order again for a quick lunch order.

I am basing my review on 1 visit, during lunch. There wasn't…read morea line so I was able to be seated immediately. Ambiance- seating inside is generally small tables close together and the dining area is on the smaller side. An open kitchen area is behind the counter, but they also have more kitchen space behind in the back. They layout really reminded me of Tokyo Ramen houses that are designed for solo single eaters (as a lot of Tokyo casual dining is). During my meal, the majority of us at tables were solo eaters, only 1 other table had 2 diners. So I imagine if you're a larger party it, it may be hard to get seating at busier times due to smaller number of tables. Ordered- Tokatsu ShuShu ramen. The noodles were springy and bouncy. The broth is creamy and tasty. I still think I really enjoy Silverlake Ramen's Tonkatsu broth (I don't know what their secret ingredient is that makes it unique) but URamen's is still satisfying. I had 4 pieces of Chashu, 1/2 of a seasoned soft boiled egg. The yolk is seasoned in a very sweet sauce- interesting taste. They add a wonton crisp which is unusual for Ramen bowl! I would've like nori crisp but that's ok. Service- One server was taking care of the lunch crowd. The owners are Thai, and I believe the server is also Thai. She was quite polite. Usually I think most Thai restaurants offer that super kind, and humble service to customers. (I say this as Korean Ame, it's noticeably different than immigrant run Korean or Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants) I do prefer the taste of Silverlake Ramen, BUT they have even more limited seating. The parking and access here is easier and quicker than going to the Collection Annex, so I think this is another solid Ramen place. Note- They are closed on Mondays, and closed between 3-5pm everyday. The first time I came, was during their closed time.

We drove down from SLO and I was craving hotpot since there's not much asian food where I'm at. The server working on Saturday afternoon was so friendly and helpful! He was the only one working but he got us everything we needed and even bussed all the tables himself. I was really impressed that he could handle the whole store himself and still keep up a really positive attitude!! The food was really good! Compared to SoCal, it might be considered average, but when you compare it to anything in the central coast (esp north) it's really tasty!! We talked about coming back any time we have some business out here! It was relatively quiet and peaceful. I think we went in during a slow time, but I'm glad we did!

It also doesn't provide that traditional hotpot experience which I find much more enjoyable. However in VC options are limited, so when I saw Tasty Pot recently opened I was quite ecstatic! There were 12 different pots and 5 spicy levels to choose from. Pot numbers 1-7 were smaller size and numbers 8-12 were larger size pots. Except for the Healthy Veggie pot, all the soup base was pork broth. Most of the pots also had very similar ingredients, the difference I could see were the main protein choice and soup flavor. They also have another menu for rice and noodle options if you didn't want to do the personal pots. We got the Taiwanese Supreme in mild and the Seafood Lobster in medium. We also got a side of quail eggs. The pots arrived with a candle of some sort below to keep it hot. Both pots were of the larger size and filled with lots of food. The mild was the perfect level of spicy for me, a hint of spice that does not overpower the original flavor of the ingredients, rather it enhanced each one and made it more tasty. Service was good, our server came by frequently to check on us and to refill the soup. At one point the flame under the pot had already gone out but we hadn't cook the noodles so we requested another flame. We were told they had to bring the pot back to the kitchen to heat it up. So I guess the flame was there to just keep the pot warm rather than actually cooking. Although this cannot compare to the traditional hotpot, this personal hotpot is still a very good option and helps to satisfy my craving.

Edit update: I had a minor missing item in my online order, and there's a link if you want to…read morecontact the company. I mentioned it, and did not expect a full refund, but they offered that. Unnecessary but appreciated. I returned and ordered my usual Classic Tokatsu, and maybe there is a different broth for Blaze version. This time Classic broth tasted closer to what I happily remember. I also opted for grilled chicken option, and you get much more quantity chicken compared to chashu pork. This makes sense as chashu pork is labor intense. I'm raising back to 4.5 stars (even if I can't show that extra .5) I still place Silverlake and then URamen as my fave local options. I think this location primarily operates as take-out restaurant. There are maybe 5-6 tables available for dining there. There are surprisingly limited # of general tables to eat inside the Annex; may have better luck eating takeout at outside tables. Silverlake's tables are reserved only for those dining in, you can not sit at a table if you're waiting for your takeout order. I ordered the Blaze (tonkatsu broth) ramen. It didn't have that same special taste I remembered. Today my seasoned egg was missing, but that is not the reason for lowering a star. Overall, from what I remember, the broth does not have that same unique flavor; the noodles were still good and fresh tasting. I also had a chicken bao snack, and it did not have a freshly cooked taste; nothing stood out in the flavors. I expected it to have more punch with kimchi inside, but it was kind of flat. Ramen is packed very well for takeout; they have a great system of separating the broth, noodles and making it easy to re-heat ramen at home and mix it together in the larger noodles/ sides bowl. Still good ramen, but maybe the flavors and some quality has become more muted. * Note: I did not realize this until I saw the prices at the counter, but if you order online, prices are approx. 10% higher, probably to cover costs of takeout containers etc. Generally I have not seen higher prices for ordering ahead. It may be more cost-effective to order counter take out if you don't mind waiting in longer lines.

The noodles have the perfect texture and soak up all that incredible flavor. It's the kind of bowl you crave long after you've finished it. Full honesty, the location itself isn't ideal. There's rarely enough room, and the seating arrangement is weak. If you plan to dine in, there has to be an open seat available before you can even order. You have to wait for space to open up first, and only then can you place your order and sit down. It can definitely be inconvenient. The prices are also on the higher side. I'd love to see some occasional specials or slight price adjustments to make it more accessible. That said, I keep coming back anyway. The Garlic Truffle Ramen is just that good. For me, it's worth working around the tight space every single time.
