2nd visit here. I have enjoyed both visits. Food is good and the staff are friendly. Nothing to complain about. We'll be back.

Daughter and I enjoyed the variety of the menu amd the food was good. Well be back for sure!read more

This old school Greek Diner in Defiance is a worthwhile stop for a very good meal. Located in an…read moreeast side commercial area in a standalone building on the corner of a strip plaza, it's not difficult to find. The exterior looks nice enough and the spacious interior is comfortable and pleasant though not elaborate. We were seated right away and our server attended to us quickly. She did a very good job during our entire visit as she was efficient and attentive but not intrusive. We had our 3-year-old granddaughter with us and they were able to accommodate her with no problem, which was greatly appreciated. The menu offered plenty of options. They seemed at the core to be a Greek Diner with several characteristic offerings you'd expect from such a place. But they also featured plenty of American Midwest-style comfort food as well. My wife tried the Beef and Noodles special that took us back to the type of thing we ate as kids. She ordered that in part because it was something our granddaughter would eat, but she also enjoyed it as well given her proclivities toward such dishes. I opted for the Greek portion of their menu with a Famous Gyro Salad. It was also a very solid choice with good Gyro meat and fresh vegetables accompanied by equally fresh pita. It was all very good. I'll also note that the coffee was decent, which I can't always say for these types of diners. The prices were very reasonable. Overall with food, drinks, tax and tip, we were able to stay at about $14 - $15 per adult. This is not bad at all for dinner by today's standards and I was quite happy with the value. We would not hesitate to try this place again should the opportunity arise.

Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night munchies, the full-service menu genuinely has something for everyone, from classic omelets to more adventurous options like pork brain. The ambience is part of the charm--it still has that same old flair, giving the space a nostalgic, welcoming feel that reflects its long history without feeling dated. I especially loved the little touches, like the coat and purse holders on the wall--if you blink, you might miss them (they were hidden under garland, lol). I had the Sizzling Boys Steak Hoagie with light onions and mushrooms, plus a side of Cheddar Cheese Curds--all excellent. Halfway through my meal, I couldn't resist stealing my partner's bacon and adding it to my hoagie... OMG, it took the flavor to the next level. Highly recommend that upgrade. Jake went with two French toasts, eggs, bacon, and waffle fries (subbed for home fries) and was just as impressed. The food was delicious across the board, and our waiter--whose name I unfortunately don't remember--was amazing and incredibly attentive. Great service, great food, and a timeless atmosphere--Kissner's absolutely lives up to its reputation.

Passing through. Absolutely best food decision make. Just go and enjoy. beautiful Main Streetread more

This was an issue as we had someone in our group that was obviously hurt and had a cane. We had to wait for a different table. We got our food and drinks ordered fairly quickly. Appetizer came out half cooked. The cheese in mozzarella sticks was not soft and hard for kids to eat. We watched more than three staff walk by and not pick up the dirty dish, including the waitress that had to move it to place the food down. We waited a long time for our food. Almost everything was overcooked. My food looked nothing like the picture. The potatoes were bland and had no garlic. My mother-in-law order a mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. Hers came out with no mushrooms, barely any sauce and had onion rings. Oldest boy had the ranch chicken sandwhich with onion rings. Had no sauce and fries. Youngest boy ordered kids cheeseburger plain with an extra al a carte burger (we checked and she said they could do it). 2 kidsburger meals came out. They tried to charge for the extra fries they had to bring and an extra kids meal. Not to mention that we never really saw our waitress again. We were never offered refills on drinks. When the manager came out she blamed the new cook. They gave a 15% discount but honestly it should have been more. There was not a single meal right, the waitress just disappeared, they never cleared the dirty dishes, the manager blamed the new cook. In the end another waitress came out and took the blame saying our waitress was new. The waitress never came back and never apologized. Was a very rough meal.
