I am so happy to have found Brian. I was able to take a few pictures and he had me measure the square feet of the area/room that needed stretching. (The length and width of the entire room, multiply together to get the square feet. Brian got back to me quickly with a fair quote. Based on scheduling, we agreed on Friday morning from 830-9am. He was prompt and polite and showed up on time. I asked him to walk through the areas that needed stretching to make sure the agreed upon quote was still accurate. He got his tools and put booties on his shoes and began to work promptly. Now I know why he had me measure the entire square feet because the "ENTIRE" area needs stretched and not just the part with the bump. Brian is personable and I was able to able to find out that he has been doing carpet since he was 18 years old. He has over 40 years of experience! With his tools, he was able to stretch the carpet without moving too much. Homeowners beware. Floorgate, Inc. installed LVP flooring over a damaged subfloor with clear signs…read moreof termite and water damage that predated the job. I was never informed of these issues before installation, and I would have paid to fix them if given the opportunity. I didn't realize the problem until after the work was done, when soft, spongy areas began showing up. When I raised concerns, I received only verbal reassurances, no inspection report, no photos, no documentation at all to prove the subfloor had been properly assessed. Floorgate's crew was difficult to communicate with, and it's unclear whether they were even instructed to inspect the subfloor. Professional contractors document their work and this crew did not. Don't assume they'll flag issues that can affect your flooring long-term. If you choose to work with Floorgate, get everything in writing and confirm inspections yourself. It may look pretty after installation, but you don't know what problems may lie underneath
