However it said that the hotel check in closed at 8pm. A man answered the doorbell and was really friendly. He had us checked in and gave us a key. He then told us the best place to park, opened up the room for us, showed us the tv remotes, and the heater. The room was cozy and pretty clean for the most part. The towels did look very old and worn out. I also found that the toilet was dirty even though it had one of those clean seals on it. The hotel was right by the lake which was beautiful and they have a kids play area as well in their "courtyard". Ok now for the fun part, I stayed up until 10pm watching a movie and the people staying next to our room were extremely loud. The walls are paper thin since I could hear the conversation the lady was having on the phone. The person next to us kept walking back and forth throughout the room until probably 2am. Then when I finally was able to go to sleep the people upstairs woke up early in the morning and I could hear their footsteps going back and forth as well. It was definitely a rough night with little sleep. This hotel has no bed bugs and it is right off the road so it's convenient if you want to stop by somewhere to sleep. However, your quality of sleep all depends on the people around you and how much noise their making at later hours of the night.

It is so well managed now! They replaced the entire broken septic system, grounds look beautiful now with a private beach across the street and they have brought in great amenities and onsite businesses. We were in Kamloops looking online for a place to spend the night and we found the rate quite enticing, considering it's the same rate as some of the budget hotels just off the hwy. This location is just off the hwy near Chase. We reserved over the phone and headed straight over. It was nice to stay on the lakefront and we even built a campfire! Blaire is the lovely woman who runs it, she is a great host to chat with & makes killer pancakes! This is an HI hostel so if you have a membership you get a discount. We traveled during the pandemic so lucky for us we had a whole caboose to ourselves - we are a couple. Normally they sleep up to 6 (there are 4 cabooses) dorm style. There are 3 bunks in each (well ours anyways), kitchen, toilet and sink, large lockers, sitting area, and each caboose has it's own outdoor picnic table & bbq. The bunk bed is a very comfy single size mattress. I had a great sleep! Showers are in a building close by. You can pay a bit extra for pancake breakfast with coffee or tea, well worth it! The trainwagon is now used as dorm with view of the lake. What i liked: - definitely unique accomodation (kids will love it) - view over the lake - included is use of the canadian canoe - basic, very good priced accomodation - friendly and helpful staff ( even though i arrived well before check in time, i still could check in and got loads of tips). Even though the highway is next to the hostel, it did not really bother me. I slept very well. Tip: you will need a car to get here. It is idealy located between whistler and the rocky mountains, so good stop over on a roadtrip Very reasonable pricing.

Rob and Jody took care of every detail so all we had to do was select our beverages and pay the bill. Jody and Rob are so knowledgable, they made recommendations, and we had endless options when it came to what we could pour from the truck. It's also not just about the truck showing up and pouring drinks, Rob and Jody made sure our guests always had a drink in their hand, they engaged with our guests about the truck as people wanted to know all about it. People are still talking about the Tapped Truck at the party a year later and we would not hesitate to hire them again in the future.

So helpful in making sure our weekend went smoothly and drinks were flowing the whole time for our guests. They were very helpful in all aspects of the planning from drink and mix ideas to the details of the special events permit. Book early, we lucked out due to a cancellation, but they keep their six rooms full all summer long. If planning to stay in the area, don't miss this place. Definately a 5 star property.
