It is so well managed now! They make each guest feel like they are happy you are here. The pool is great and open most of the day each day. They have laundry facilities and free showers. There is a store conveniently stocked with a lot of "Ooops, we forgot to bring..." items. The campground itself is treed and the gardens have beautiful flowers. There is also a Koi pond. They also offer a playground for the little ones. The sites are fairly spacious and can accommodate most campers/rvs. It is located just minutes from Salmon Arm city centre. We find we love the location, the customer service and the overall camping experience! We will continue to plan our annual vacation at Salmon Arm Campground and Resort.

Our stay at the Jade Mountain hotel was interesting. We checked in around 7pm and we had to ring…read morethe doorbell to the convenience store since everything was closed. However it said that the hotel check in closed at 8pm. A man answered the doorbell and was really friendly. He had us checked in and gave us a key. He then told us the best place to park, opened up the room for us, showed us the tv remotes, and the heater. The room was cozy and pretty clean for the most part. The towels did look very old and worn out. I also found that the toilet was dirty even though it had one of those clean seals on it. The hotel was right by the lake which was beautiful and they have a kids play area as well in their "courtyard". Ok now for the fun part, I stayed up until 10pm watching a movie and the people staying next to our room were extremely loud. The walls are paper thin since I could hear the conversation the lady was having on the phone. The person next to us kept walking back and forth throughout the room until probably 2am. Then when I finally was able to go to sleep the people upstairs woke up early in the morning and I could hear their footsteps going back and forth as well. It was definitely a rough night with little sleep. This hotel has no bed bugs and it is right off the road so it's convenient if you want to stop by somewhere to sleep. However, your quality of sleep all depends on the people around you and how much noise their making at later hours of the night.

This particular highway 'Rest Stop' has become a familiar stop for us during our travels east to…read moreHope and beyond. The continuation of Lougheed Highway = Highway #7, is a right turn at the junction of Harrison Hot Springs and Agassiz, and a left turn at the junction with the highway off to the right into Agassiz, BC, continues on to Hope. A lovely scenic route that we have enjoyed often. The rest stop itself, is located off to the left of the highway, about 3/4 of the way to Hope. It's a large pull off area, that can accommodate several large and smaller-sized vehicles, and offers washrooms, and a row of nicely-spaced picnic tables, for those who wish to get out of their vehicles for a while. For us last week, it was the perfect spot for a stop to get out of the car, move around a little, use the washrooms, and sit and enjoy a cold drink before heading on to Manning Provincial Park. As before via other stops, we found the location very well-maintained -- the large and spacious washrooms equipped and clean, the site, and its tables neat and tidy.

I still go to hotels,…read moredon't get me wrong, but in this case I ended up in a classy comfortable ground level condo that I could ski out and ski back in. So cool (sorry this is first for me - many may already know the thrill of that). This is a roomy two-bedroom condo with two bathrooms/pull out couch - heated floors at entrance and in the loos; a stocked kitchen (if you like to cook and have access to spices, utensils, sparkling pots the kitchen is nice); a BBQ on the patio which is also where the jetted hot tub is (and I never had to worry about the tub as it seemed that the maintenance people came by regularly over the 3 days and checked on it - nice). Enough TV screens (my guy loves his hockey) and good wireless connections (essential for me). A gas fireplace, comfy furniture, uncluttered but totally comfortable - even small touches like robes in the bedroom. And plenty of hooks. Parking underground. And the 15 minute scroll to the cute Sun Peaks village was through tree-lined pathways with that clean squeaky snow under your feet.

Book early, we lucked out due to a cancellation, but they keep their six rooms full all summer long. If planning to stay in the area, don't miss this place. Definately a 5 star property.
