I enjoyed the Gil's bowl area the most. Even in a year when we have the least amount of snow, the weather kept it well. It's much better than the coastal area resorts. The lines are also shorter. This is a great family resort, may not be for the elite thrill seeking crowd but has enough for everyone to do.

Thick white towels and modern bathrooms. High quality bedding and comfortable mattresses. Special touches such as a microwave for guest use and a non-traditional vending machine with interesting snacks are a bonus. The rooftop (actually 2nd floor) pool/hot tub area is spectacular. Kids and adults alike enjoy using the space. Poolside bar and meal service is available. Staff routinely maintain the pool area, picking up stray towels and dirty dishes. The upgraded executive package is a good deal, as it includes underground parking and a breakfast voucher for the on-site restaurant. The breakfast menu has many options from pancakes to eggs Benedict, and the food is high quality and prepared to order. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Kamloops and is steps from a full-service grocery store, a large drug store, and many cafes and boutiques. I wear earplugs when sleeping, so I cannot comment on room-to-room noise. I don't feel that the noise transfer between rooms is atypical for a building of it's age/construction type. I sleep better here than at home. Overall exceptional experience. I look forward to staying here.

When we arrived the building was updated and modern. Smelled nice and it was hot that day, however the hotel was cooled to a good temp. The staff was very friendly. Went to the room and it was so-so. Not the best room, but not bad enough to go to a different hotel. The area of concern was the riff raff they allow in the hotel. The level of clientele was low. We really go to know this when we were trying to sleep. People were partying in the hallway and were very loud. We called down to the manager and they said they would take care of it. We waited and the noise came back. I called down again and management said they would be removing the loud guests shortly. The noise then stopped, however a good night's sleep was out of the question at this point. Not sure if it is the proximity to the casino, but the quality of customers was very low during our stay.

Cancellation/refund policy stated no refunds if the reservation wasn't canceled by midnight the night before. I wasn't aware of the conditions of the roads nor neighborhood before I was in town so seems pretty unfair. Called the hotel to request a refund and can't reach anyone so will be working with Expedia on this. The hotel also seems to be rundown and not kept up, definitely not what one would expect from a Wyndham owned property.

It's located downtown Kamloops. Parking is somewhat limited, just one strip close to the hotel but they have another parking spot maybe 2 blocks away. If you are like me, just passing thru and have my luggages in the car, consider bringing them down first then park your car to the distant parking spot. I was not comfortable leaving my stuff in the car and parked far away. The staff was friendly. Checkin in and out was fast and effortless. The elevator was cramped almost only for 1-2 people. It was ok in my situation. The room was clean, and comfortable. I was on the fifth floor and can see around downtown. Didn't have to wait a long time for the elevators when going out or back to my room. There was a complimentary drink, either wine or beer, when I checked in. The bar was not full and I was told there was a hockey game playing nearby. Vancouver and Calgary game was on the big screen when I came in. Breakfast was sausage, bacon, potatoes, eggs, coffee. Hot meal is always welcome!

The staff treats us like family. Premium room is worth it if you do serious cooking. Agreed: groomers are noisy and run all night. (We ask for a relatively quieter room and a village view and we use white noise). Yes, it was built in 1996, but we like the feel of it being older. We're 70+ skiers. We like that one can go right out the ski room door and ski downhill 100'ish to the Sundance lift at 8:30. A short walk across the road under the covered bridge to Morrisey can be great for first tracks when there's new snow. Access is so easy we take a mid day break in the room. You can ski all downhill to the door from the Rambler or Sunrise. (see the map). The highlight for us is the guided tours by the Sun Peaks Hosts. They'll guide you to the best areas, away from the fog, wind, ice, hardpack etc. We love the Sundance and have returned year after year since 2013. Seattle and Bellingham Washington.

We stopped by in October and stayed for only one night. It was off season at the ski resort so we got a room at a great value and it was very quiet. It's a beautiful location and I can imagine how busy it must get during the snow season because it was dead when we were there. Most of the village shops and some of the restaurants were open when we were there. We were able to get dinner at a pizza spot and breakfast, but the village was nearly deserted. The rooms are outdated and old. I did enjoy that the room was huge and big enough for a big family. There was a small kitchenette, a dining table, fireplace, and a TV. The bed was comfortable, very clean and there were no bedbugs. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and engaging she even gave us advice on where to park at.

They required full amount within 30-days of arrival, then the property manager was unwilling to work with us after our family came down with COVID over Christmas. VRBO and Air B&B offer larger (~1,000+ sq ft) accommodations with private hot tubs, and modernized ski-in/ski-out locations for the same price if not less which I wish we had done instead of working with Bear Country. We looked at their 10+ yr old videos online and saw just how itty bitty and out dated their accommodations were that average ~550 sq ft with a community hot tub. EW. We booked 3 days of lift tickets, ice-fishing trip, and horse drawn carriage ride and everyone except Bear Country worked with us to reschedule our reservations for the end of Jan 2023. Greed over Customer Service loses every time. We'll never work with Bear Country EVER again and we've shared this with the skiing community in the greater Seattle, BC, Colorado, Texas, California, and everything in-between both family and friends. Only book here if you're really hard up, and pray you don't have an issue showing up, as they will keep your money. AVOID!

We had a party of four and stayed at Crystal Forest Condos because there was a great promo of 3-for-4-nights. The condo can sleep 8 people, but that would be wayyyy too cramped. 4 was just right. 6 would be manageable I imagine. The place itself is cozy and homely. Wood furnishings. Clean. Well-equipped. It even had a small decorated Christmas tree (how seasonal!) and a fairly large selection of movies on VHS (oh the nostalgia...). I think it's these small touches that make the vacation experience more enjoyable. The hot tub is superb. A small complaint on the bouncey mattress - but perhaps I'm just spoiled. Crystal Forest is about a 10 min. walk to the lifts - a bit far, but not too bad. Overall a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate booking with them again.

The beds are a bit too soft. I like the USB charging port at the lamps, making it so convenient to charge the phones. Somehow the my AC power plug didn't work in the power outlet. Breakfast was not too bad, at least it was not just muffins and danishes. There were hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, fruits, mini muffins and DIY waffle. The staff manning the breakfast room would come around to clean and top up the food regularly.

We were here for the 2024 BC Soccer Provincials and this is our first time in Sun Peaks. A great…read moreplace to have the whole team in one place. The service is exemplary. Super friendly staff. Food from Mantles and Morrisey's are pretty good. Rooms are clean and spacious, and there's AC which is needed during the summer heat. It does get cooler at night. Our room (436) came with coffee machine (Nespresso Capsules), electric kettle, small fridge, and safe. There's a parking fee per night and it's underground parking. Parking stalls are small so some vehicles take up more than a spot. The drive to the soccer fields are long but we enjoyed the scenic drive (about 50mins each way). Don't rush the drive up or down, enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Be careful as there are wildlife on the drive up/down from Sun Peaks. We saw deer a couple of times on the side of the road and a juvenile black bear (we almost hit one) darted out of the bushes on to the road at one point. Overall, we had a great experience and glad we chose to stay here.
