This was our first stop on our trip to Banff and I'm glad we chose this hotel. We were looking what town to overnight as its our first time in these parts of the woods and took a chance on Prestige in Salmon Arm. Loved it! Our first time staying at a Prestige Resort and we will be checking for them more for our trips. Located on the water, check in was a breeze and has many shops around. Free parking. There's an outdoor hot tub, & an indoor/outdoor pool. As you hang out in the hot tub, there's a birds nest you can just got lost in watching. The gym is nicely sized and has some really nice expensive gym equipment. I met a local in the hot tub and she says the hotel sells memberships to the locals for the hotel amenities. Real cool! The hotel also has bikes for rent, games on the lawn, chairs to sunbathe and a quick walk to the docks. Our room was standard sized with 2 queen beds. It felt clean, and welcoming. I loved the bathroom! Standard room comes with a tub and a shower. Lovely luxury surprise. The beds were really comfortable. There's a mini fridge, coffee maker, ice bucket and microwave. It's a beautiful updated luxury property in a small town surrounded by water and nature.

Other customers came and went; Mira always quickly and efficiently served everyone. There is a bar, pool tables, outdoor deck with tables and umbrellas. We didn't eat there but the food is fast-food type. The hotel is located across the street from the tavern. We didn't spend the night, but I'm eager to go back and do just that. It looks quite homey. 2 stories, white with columns and a huge front porch. The tavern is very close to the boat dock. The locals boat to the boat dock and relax and enjoy a beer. Very small town, tiny in fact, but don't let that put you off. This little slice of heaven is well worth the drive. There is no phone signal but internet phones work fine. Mira allowed me to borrow her phone. If you're looking for something different, adventurous and off the grid sort of, this is it!

Perhaps we were in the middle of nowhere overlooking beautiful countryside, but it is worth it. We spent 2 weeks traveling from Salt Lake City to Armstrong BC. We stopped and ate a variety of restaurants (and wineries) along the way through Walla Walla and returning back through Island Park, ID. This restaurant was by far our favorite. The venue is original, the service, drinks, and food are excellent. Plus, the experience extraordinary. So much so, we ate there for dinner one night and returned the next day to eat lunch. Truly a special farm to table experience and for a reasonable price.

Then we had the summer garden salad with prawns added, which is as close to the salad we were hoping for as we could get and it did not disappoint.
