Shaay really listened to what I wanted and understood exactly what I was trying to accomplish. She clearly knows how to cut hair well because even the stylist who does my color commented on what a great haircut I had--which is always a great sign! The only thing I would mention is that the Dyson Airwrap felt a little too hot on my hair, so I asked Shaay to use the large round brush instead to avoid putting excess heat on my hair. She was very accommodating. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. Shaay was attentive, understood what I wanted, and gave me a really great cut. I would definitely recommend her!

I went to Serena at Dolce Cabello with very specific, clearly communicated goals for my hair. I…read moreprovided both photos and written notes outlining exactly what I wanted: soft, cool-toned gray blending with fine highlights, to make it easier for root grow out, lighter overall color, and absolutely no red or brassy tones. My natural hair pulls warm, so I emphasized multiple times that I needed ash/cool tones only. I even shared photos of a previous gray blending result that I had done and loved. Her comment was most people just let me do what I want. First photo is my hair and what I requested. The next 2 is what I got. Instead, my hair was colored a dark red/brassy tone--completely opposite of what I requested. When I reached out to have it corrected, the experience became even more concerning. At my follow-up appointment, the stylist was short, stating she didn't have much time to fix it, and became argumentative when I referenced the photos I had originally provided. She also did not disclose to me that she did not charge the same as the website pricing but rather by the hour including the time needed for processing. The situation escalated to the point where she told me to leave and repeatedly said she was calling the police while I was gathering my belongings. I understand that not every color turns out perfectly, but what matters is how it is handled afterward. In this case, she clearly had no intentions of fixing my hair and a complete lack of professionalism. Based on both the result and the experience, I would not recommend.

I could've ended up at Supercuts under those circumstances, but Jamie must've had a cancellation because she had one open appointment yesterday afternoon. (PS: I love being able to schedule online!) As soon as I entered the salon (which is beautiful, by the way), Jamie warmly greeted me at the door; she has an amazing, positive energy, and I trusted her with my locks right away. We talked about what I wanted (non-grandma, low maintenance, incorporate my wacky inelegant natural wave, a hint of edginess so I can trick people into thinking I'm cool and stylish, etc.) and looked at some pictures together, and I could tell she "got me." After a shampoo and fabulous head massage, we returned to the chair so she could work her magic. She styled me using just a blow dryer with a diffuser (Noice - thank you for that!), so I knew I wouldn't have to do a lot to maintain it, and when I saw the final product, I knew I'd found my spirit stylist. I. LOVE. MY. HAIR. (And this is not something I say often.) She upped my style game significantly without breaking the bank. (And if you've visited a stylist in Atlanta, you know it can happen!) Her rate is very reasonable when you consider the epic service she provides. I wasn't feeling photo-ready since I dragged my post-yoga self to the salon without a smidge of makeup, so I'm posting a pic here. Thank you, Jamie!
