I've come in a few times over the last couple years and liked the atmosphere. Came in town from Texas and used a groupon for a deep conditioning and haircut. I told Megan I didn't want to cut it too short we agreed 1-2.5 inches. I left with 4 inches cut off, hardly any layers and unaware of if any deep conditioning had happened. I called and they said they deep conditioned after the shampoo but was not told about it. Wasn't my best experience here. read more

I bought a Groupon for a color, cut, and blow dry. Was excited to try this place because it's so close to home! William David Salon is located BEHIND the Pampas Steakhouse restaurant. It's a cottage in the back. There is ample parking & easy to get to. Alexandra, who made my appointment, even tells you so on the phone. When I got to my appointment, I was warmly greeted, checked in, and offered a drink. I took a glass of water. My stylist, Megan, then greeted me and took me to her station. I showed her a picture of the chocolate color hair that I wanted to walk out with. As for the cut I asked her for her opinion on a layered look or an A line cut. She advised to go with the layered look and I was fine with that. Off to the color room we went. The salon is divided into three rooms. After you enter you walk through the washing stations and from their you can either go left at the fork into the cut and style station, or right which is the color station. Upon sitting in the chair Megan brought me the book of lil hair color samples that all salons have. I told her I don't have much luck with picking out of the book and therefore I will leave that salon stuff to her, and all I can offer her is the picture. I mean honestly, if I'm giving you a picture of the EXACT color I want, why are you asking me to choose from a huge selection of other hair colors. I was very open with her, that I don't know the numbers or salon jargon of lifting etc. So she made the color. She mentioned that she was only going to do the top because I had some lighter hair pops of brown on the bottom from my prior balyage. I told her okay because she said it would all blend, because the color was to be the same. Usually, when you go to a salon, the stylist talks to you. Maybe a lot, maybe a little, but they USUALLY say SOMETHING to you. Megan did not talk to me at all (and I'm talking about convo talk, not the obvious salon questions of sit here, come here)!! In fact, it was a little annoying that she was interjecting herself in the stylist and client across from me. Luckily, my trusty cell phone was charged and full of insight ;). The color was applied, I waited, ding, time for rinse. Cue heavenly music:: the best part about getting your hair done, the wash. Megan did a nice job with the wash. Massaged the scalp, water was perfectly warm, and it wasn't rushed. Back to the style station. The haircut was good and the Blow dry. I was ecstatic, Except my hair was PRETTY MUCH STILL BLACK! :( She recognized this and therefore we decided I would come back so she could give me the color I went in for. She took me to Alexandra and explained that she would need to redo the color because it didn't change. When I called back Alexandra was super accommodating and scheduled me in for a Saturday which was 2 days after the 2 wk fix period. I really do appreciate her customer service. I went back, we went straight to the color station, she consulted with another hair stylist to tackle this lovely black hair. Applied, and waited. Again, no fun "salon" talk. Time to wash....I could tell something was wrong based on her "different" silence, so I straight out asked her, did it lighten? She said, "it's definitely warmer." Sigh. We went to the style station so she could blow dry it and we could confirm that I'd not end up with the chocolate color I again presented her with. She did admit that she was surprised & genuinely stumped. She then said, let's go talk to Alexandra, maybe she'll refund you, maybe get you a different stylist. I also asked her, why didn't she just use bleach if she saw that clearly, my hair can get lighter since she herself was acknowledging the bottom strands. Anyhow, we spoke to Alexandra and nothing was accomplished. Megan went and hid in the back room, which was a little annoying, kinda showed lack of care, but another stylist came out & said it's just trial and error. That was annoying too. If I want trial & error, I'll do it at home. Or, the fact that this was the SECOND visit in less than a month and still we accomplished no change, ehm, not the conclusion I was looking for. I think I'll pay the extra money and go back to Aura salon, either of their two locations, who nailed my color and cut the FIRST time. William David would've had me back if they offered a solution to their lack of ability to achieve the end result. Megan said, you had a groupon, to which I did tell her, that I already confirmed with Alexandra if I needed to pay more to achieve the look I would. I tipped Megan both times, but too bad they're not up for other hair types. All the clients with non black hair def seemed happy, so if you have "easy" hair, you'll probably be fine. I now have to go to another salon because a day later and I have patches of color in my hair. Someone asked me why I did my roots reddish! Ugh. Shame! I guess I'll go where there is a diversity in clientele. read more

I've lived right down the street on and off for the past several years and unfortunately, never knew it was there. I recently (despite my horrific experiences with Groupon deals) purchased a Groupon for a haircut. The girl that works up front is very warm and genuinely nice. That alone made up for their computer glitch, which caused me to have to push my appointment out two hours. She was very apologetic and said she'd make sure I received a conditioning treatment on the house. Granted, I had to remind the stylist, but no big deal. When I scheduled my cut I told them I wanted someone that was experienced, especially with thick hair. They recommended Tamara and I'm happy with the results. She listened to my concerns and offered suggestions that made sense. She wasn't pushy about what she thought was right for me. She was very upfront with how much length she was going to take off and assured me I wouldn't be able to tell. I mentioned that I wished my hair was wavy because there's so much more you can do with it and the hairstyles I wanted looked better with some waves. She started heating up her flat iron and did her magic. I will be sad when my hair goes back to its natural state. She's very personable and funny. I had a nice, big ol' glass of wine and we chatted away. She gave me a hug before I left and then I hung out and finished my wine. There's a nice, cozy waiting area and I could've stayed there for hours. I felt so much better when I left, as I've had quite the stressful week. read more

What can I say, overall, this salon was amazing. I have only been once and only had one person work on my hair, but just had such an awesome experience I had to review them. Stylist: Elliot. She's fantastic. She not only gave me an amazing cut and color, with stunning balayage highlights, but she was a hoot to talk to. I would say, if you are like me and super picky about your hair but equally picky about your stylist being fun, book with her and you'll have awesome hair and an awesome time. She also gave me some really beautiful blow dry with the voluminous curls at the end which made me feel oh so glam. Experience: So I came on a holiday weekend when they had a few little popup shops and some fun drinks, so it was super fun. That said, it is a lovely place and I think regardless of events, this salon is just beautiful. They have all the luxe boxes checked, free drinks, kind staff, fresh flowers, etc. It's also in a house, so it feels so charming and cozy. A real fun experience I must say. Products: I am actually very sensitive and I had ZERO reaction to the hair care and hair color. Usually I have really bad allergies due to the smell of the color and even after they wash my hair it smells so bad I can't deal with it for a week. Even at Aveda and other "natrual" salons. Here, none of that. Overall, I'm super happy I found this place and am actually looking forward doing my hair in 6 weeks! I will update this as I go more but for now, just awesome. read more

As my first experience at a professional Salon I must say, it was fantastic!! Megan turned my hair from dark brown and ugly orange to a gorgeous faded Balayage(check before and after pictures). I really appreciate that Megan stayed AFTER HOURS just to do my hair and she took her time even when she didn't have to, I never felt rushed or pressured to leave. Megan even offered to do my PROM HAIR!! I wasn't able to come in unfortunately due to my tight schedule that day but they were willing to work with me to figure something out which I thought was so sweet of them. I will continue to come into this Salon also because it's so clean and everyone is so friendly, greeting me and offering something to drink as soon as I walked in the door and frequently asking how you are doing making sure that everything is going well with your hair. I have an issue with my hair color. If a particular brand/conditioner is not used, it will bleed into my sheets. I've dealt with this for years. My colorist in the state I relocated from found the solution, but, regrettably, not many salons carry it. I was recommended to this salon by a friend. They used a Groupon and suggested I do, too. I called this location three times. I talked to a colorist and they said they'd be able to accommodate me. When I called to make the appointment, I was told she no longer worked there. So, I spoke to the Manager (more than once) and was told they would order the color and conditioner if I went in for a consultation. I did. The stylist asked me if I would try theirs and I told them I really couldn't. I was afraid. So, the manager bought it. I went to my appointment and the salon is absolutely gorgeous. The people are nice and I had a colorist and an apprentice do my color/shampoo/cut/blow dry. I spent more time with the apprentice which made me wonder why I had to come in for a consultation. I later found out that this apprentice didn't get a share of the stylist tip, so, I felt that I had to tip her as well. I did find out that day that the manager tried to call me but, they could not order the conditioner, but, they had something very comparable and I thought it'd be fine because I thought it was more about the color than anything else. I was wrong. My sheets (pillow sham) were RUINED. I called very upset within 10 minutes of waking up (who wouldn't be? I trusted them and I got really #$%ed!). I spent about $80 on the groupon, $30 for the 'special conditioner' they used on me instead of the brand they said they would order for me and tipped both people ($30 for both). I spent a grand total of $140. I got a call three days later and I finally spoke to the salon a day after that. The Manager is on vacation for 2 weeks, but, she asked someone to call and tell me that since they spent $30 on the color (no conditioner) they would not refund me for the 'special conditioner' or my sham. I told them that I spent $140 on this appointment and now I have to replace my sham. If you won't make good on this, there is no motivation for me to come back. Lesson learned - Something (a location, a stylist, et al) that is beautiful and expensive does not make it superior. read more

This is definitely more of a high-end salon, you are greeted with a glass of wine upon your visit- can't complain! I've been looking for a new salon for about a year now...and changing hair stylists is stressful! You never know what you're gonna get. Well, look no more. I've found my new place. Niajee was the stylist assigned to me when I made my last-minute appointment for a Saturday afternoon. I knew nothing about her, so I went in completely blindly. Two and a half hours later I walked out with a great cut, beautiful highlights and a big smile on my face. I'm now her biggest fan. The salon has a different feel than those I've been to in the past. It's located in what looks like an old remodeled house, and it still kinda feels like that inside. The only negative for me was the room where the stylists apply color is a little awkward. There's a large table in the middle and the clients are kinda sitting around the table while the color is being applied. It was just a little weird to be sitting facing people you don't know, but not a huge deal. If you're shopping for a new stylist - give Niajee a try. Let her work her magic. She's very friendly, but doesn't ramble incessantly about nothing the whole time which I love. read more

I made an appointment for 3 pm. At 215 I get a call asking where I am and was told they changed my appointment to 2 because someone else needed the 3 pm. They tried to call and tell me but my voicemail was full. Since I was late, I was going to reschedule because they just couldn't (wouldn't) squeeze me in even though I was on time for the appointment I made! I was somehow supposed to know that they had changed my appointment and I was supposed to rearrange my schedule to accommodate their decision. Rude and unprofessional! read more

Curly girls stay away! If you are going natural and following the curly girl method then this salon is not for you. They have no idea what they are doing. I had my appointment booked for highlights and went ahead after they assured me that they have worked with curly hair. I was extremely disappointed with the outcome. The highlights were okay but still did not cover on my curls like how I wanted. But the styling- hell no!!! They don't know how to work with a diffuser. The two stars are only for the highlights. Nicole is the very best! I have medium brown hair and have had such a hard time finding someone who can lighten it without turning it yellow/orange. I was always told that I would need to go through the yellow/orange phase to get to the neutral blonde/light brown that I was going for UNTIL I came to see Nicole. She lightened it to the exact shade I wanted at the first appointment with no damage to my hair. Every time I've seen her, I've gone home with my hair looking exactly like the photo I showed her. William David is minutes from my home. I am a new convert! The place is adorable and the customer service is fabulous. Noelle, the owner makes you feel right at home. Shawna was my stylist/colorist. She is amazing. I only need a single process, but she covered every single grey I had. I'm used to having a colorist and a stylist so this was a bit of a switch, but she is so talented at both. WARNING!!!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!! If I could give this negative 5 stars, I would. My first and last visit to this disaster of a hair salon...Get ready to get ripped off!!! There are no mirrors so the surprise comes at the end, when your hair has been stripped and is a lovely shade of white gray. Forget about telling William David anything you want, because it will be disregarded for their signature gray streaks. I got a punk rocker 80's hair cut with it (he insisted on cutting my hair even though I didn't want it so he said he'd just "touch up the ends". Well, 3-4" falling to the ground total hack job, with bangs! to the tune of $418.00 at the register. This was in Dec. It is now March, and I am still having to deal with it. My hair was only in good enough shape 2 weeks ago to hold color without breaking off. The cut will take another several months to grow out. Did I mention, that I only went in for a base color touch up, because I was happy with my hair? I asked for half of the money back, and he refused. Also wouldn't take back the $80 bottle of conditioner that was thrown in with my total. Did I also mention, that this guy has a reputation in the hair world for ruining people's hair - like an entire subdivision down the road from his new salon? I found that out too late. Did I mention that the new guy I now go to has had 4 women come to him that got their hair ruined by William David, and this hair dresser is located an hour away? I came in with really low expectations. I had only been to one salon in atlanya prior and had a horrendous experience which made me wait over a year to go find another salon. However when I walked in here I was blown away by what a cute little place this was. It's a very welcoming atmosphere and I believe the girl in the fronts name is Ali, she's fantastic!!!! He has such a great attitude and such a positive vibe about her that I started to feel more comfortable. I got there early because I'm usually on Cuban time and I didn't wanna be late and was so excited to finally get my hair done. I was offered wine, soda tea or coffee and I had some diet coke. Neejia was my hair dresser and I showed her what I wanted from an old picture of myself. She got the concept right away and got to it. She chopped off my hair expertly and I knew she wasn't done yet however I still lived it even though she wasn't done cutting. This woman has talent!!!! Then she moves me to the color room and we get some color on my hair to match my natural hair color and everything was fine and dandy. This woman gives one hell of a scalp massage!!!! After my hair was washed we went back to the cutting chair and she cut it to what I wanted and gave me everything I wanted and was not expecting!!! She is so great. I walked in there looking a mess with box red hair and walked out of there unrecognizable!!!! I'm really happy with what she did for me and I will continue to schedule my appointments with her. (btw everyone there was really nice and not like fake nice like oh this is my job so I have to be nice but like really nice that they mean it that you can tell they are nice people) I love this salon and I'm happy to say I found a home for my hair here!!!!
