We switched to local AC companies and now things are much smoother. Avoid Monarch's recommended loan company GoodLeap as well. After reading numerous, and I mean really numerous, reviews about Monarch Home Services, I was apprehensive. Many reviews mentioned workers not showing up when scheduled, jobs not being done well, and the company not standing behind its work after spending a lot of money on new HVAC systems. Unfortunately, my experience matched these reviews closely. I signed a contract with them on July 11, and they didn't show up as promised. Despite talking to their friendly and reassuring phone representative, their crew still failed to show up. After several days of no-shows, I requested to cancel my contract on July 16 because they were in default. The contract states that work will begin within three days of signing, but they failed to meet this commitment. The company uses high-pressure tactics to encourage you to replace every piece of equipment in your HVAC system, including complete ductwork. They quoted me between $21,000 and $28,000, which I believe is overpriced and unnecessary unless you have a lot of money to spend unnecessarily. During the inspection to provide a replacement quote, the technician reported finding a problem where the system was bypassed. He also claimed that when opening the power cover, it fell and hit two lines that went to the main circuit board, supposedly frying it. He then stated that he wired the air conditioning system directly to run nonstop until they could deliver a replacement. This all sounded too fishy to me. Honestly, I was relieved to be let out of the contract. This is just my personal experience, but it closely matched many other reviews I found about Monarch Home Services. I called them for a tune-up on my a/c heater dual pack. After the technician took a look at it , I was told he'd have to call his supervisor to come look at it. He said there were some strange issues going on. Do he shows up sends him home and begins his sales pitch. This is going on that is going on so for the parts and service it will be almost 10 thousand or we could set you up with new system for 20 - 27 thousand . WHAT !!!. So I declined all services and now this morning I went to turn my heater on and have nothing happening. No heat no signal , nothing. Makes you think what happens when you're not exactly there watching what the technician is actually doing. I would never recommend this business to anyone. I really think they're just out for the sale and not to repair anything. read more

Try being honest Monarch was the company who put my air conditioning in for the first couple years. Everything was good then I noticed that every time a technician would come out a manager or supervisor would be with them and they're always trying to sell me something this last time they came out said I needed $14,000 worth of work which made me suspicious so I called another Air Conditioning company Balanced Comfort, who came out yesterday and told me there's nothing wrong. Monarch is by far the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I am not being dramatic. I bought a whole new unit in 2023 and every 5-8 months (on top of their regular maintenance) I have to have them come out to fix my unit. Always same issue, tried multiple of their solutions THEY presented to us and they keep saying "SHOULD do the job". However the most recent visit had me irate and had to speak with manager who was very rude. I just don't understand how I should be charged more for something I had already paid for 8 months ago to expand the air flow. I would NEVER recommend Monarch. read more

Patrick came to give me an estimate for cleaning my ductwork, he even crawled under the house and took pictures of the ducting. He showed me the pictures of the poor condition the insulation and everything that would have to be repaired first. I really appreciated his honesty, he could have just done the cleaning I asked for instead of pointing out that it would be a waste of time unless we fixed the leaks. we opted not to fix the issues since it's a very old system, but when we do replace it, we will definitely be calling Monarch. read more

Worst mistake we ever made going with Monarch services. They had someone come out and do a service check on our AC because we were having issues after they installed it about 3 months prior. Turns out the person they sent to install everything put in a part in the wrong size and they wanted to charge us thousands to have it all redone. WHAT! They put us on the phone with their sales person? who emphasized they were an engineer and knew the issue and that down the line we were going to have more serious issues. They were giving us a whole lecture as if it was our fault and we had to pay. Our AC makes a constant noise now, I don't even know what they actually f'ed up, up there but it sucks so much to spend so much money on something for them to give us such awful customer service, and to mess up the installation. I feel like this company is just taking advantage of folks in the Central Valley. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

Chris came out to give me a quote on new HVAC system & immediately rubbed me the wrong way by saying he'd like to reschedule when my husband could be present since he's the decision maker. Heads up guys, our little female brains can understand all your big boy words just fine. I don't need my husband's approval to sanction a large purchase. Costco recommended this company. At time of installation, their crew broke through into the ceiling in three different places. We have been calling to get repairs. All we get is someone will call you back from management or someone is on their way. Nobody ever calls or comes to repair! Do not do business with this company! read more

They were happy to send out a very friendly man to check out my HVAC system. After poking around my controller board for a while and showing that it did in fact work, he recommended that we replace the board and quoted me $1700 for the board alone. He then told me that he was worried that if he did that, that motor right there will go out next... and showed me a price of $1700 for that motor so actually recommended that he send over the guy that does installs of whole new systems and he wouldn't even hazard a guess as to how much that might be. After I paid the $100 diagnosis fee we found the exact board that we have in our system on Amazon for less than $200. We were also able to fix it ourselves a couple hours later without replacing the board. Don't take what these guys say as gospel. I can understand some markup... that's how business works... but come on, $1500? read more

The service they provided was all new duct work in our attic as well as a whole new unit up top in the furnace. They installed a new fan in our outside unit all back in April. Now the hottest day of the summer so far and our AC is not working. We have spent thousands of dollars with this company and it is poor quality. we noticed one of our vent covers still has the balloon they blew up to test the unit underneath the cover. How unprofessional... I'm sure they could see the balloon there as they were installing the cover. They bent some of the vent covers and we had to call them back out to replace them since they're brand new. The crew of employees had to come out several days in a row to complete the job because of inaccurate parts ordered. They failed to arrive at scheduled times on numerous occasions and had to reschedule for later dates prolonging our installation and inconveniencing my family. Today we are sitting in a hot house and paid thousands of dollars for a unit that does not work. We were told they are not going to come out until sometime possibly tomorrow. We are very dissatisfied with Monarch services and hopeful that our unit will be up and running tomorrow before the hottest part of the day. read more

We received a complimentary A/C Maintenace on our unit and the technician (Bill) was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained his process and even changed out my filter. He showed me the condition of my unit and informed me possible work that needs to be repaired. His Supervisor (Mario) also stopped by and reiterated all information already stated by his technician, and further explained the necessary work that needs to be completed. I mentioned I have a home warranty and will use them for any repairs for the home and he continued to let me know what should be repaired to the system. I would definitely use this company for any repairs needed for my unit if I didn't have a home warranty, as both persons that visited my home and thoroughly explained the system and problems. I did read the not so good comments about the company, and in my experience, I did not see any of the same issues as they were upfront with their pricing and kept their scheduled time for service. read more

Fail! Monarch sold me an entirely new HVAC System at a grand cost of $30, 748.00. 8 months later I noticed it wasn't blowing cold air. A Technician came out in good time & found a leak. He repaired the leak & the system cooled for me all summer, but was leaking water from a catch tray into my ceiling the whole time! I didn't know this until my smoke detectors went off at midnight & I called the fire department, thinking there might be Carbon Monoxide in the house. Turns out water from the leaking tray went into the ceiling, a light fixture & 1 smoke detector which then activated. At the same time, the AC quit altogether! By this time, the HVAC System Monarch installed was just 14 months old. We scheduled another Technician, who found the leaking tray, a water soaked ceiling & a burned out blower. I had to turn off my AC & sleep in an uncomfortably warm house while we wait for warranty parts. The weather turned comfortable for a short time but is now is turning cold. The warranty parts have been on order for a full month, rain & colder weather are in the forecast. I called today and the only word was, "parts are still on order." FAIL! I might add, the system that came w my house lasted 13 years. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Costco HVAC Contractor, Monarch Heating & Air. read more

Our AC went out in June! We didn't think we could afford repairs or replacement so we purchased 2 window AC units at our local home improvement store to get us by until we saved up. We were approached in Costco from Monarch with a free estimate. They scheduled our appointment for 2 days later and found that we could make payments. They came out the Next day and within about 4 hours we now have a bigger better AC, Heater and new ductwork! We could not be happier with this team. Thank you! read more

This company is a JOKE!! I'm so fed up with the disgraceful service we have experienced here. First of all, I received NUMEROUS calls, emails, and texts to confirm my appointment for today all of which I confirmed, and guess who never showed up today?! You guessed it, Monarch Home Services! They were supposed to show up this morning but never did. We called them and they said they were behind on another job and that they would be there shortly after. Ten minutes later we got another call from the technician saying the exact same thing, these people do not communicate amongst themselves. Hours go by so we call again at 4pm when we were told they actually won't be able to come today at all. Then they proceed to tell us THE NEXT AVAILABLE TIME THEY CAN COME IS JUNE 21! WHAT. A. JOKE. So because you were slow and behind we have to wait WEEKS for you to grace us with your presence?! I literally cannot wait to cancel my membership with this joke of a company. God knows how you people are still in business after the hell you put your customers through. I would love to hear from management about why you insist of sending over 10 confirmation texts, emails, and calls and then fail to show up. I even called the company to ask you to stop sending me confirmation messages after I've confirmed over and over and over, but that didn't stop you! These people are a rip off. They came out to service my AC system. The technician then told me he didn't have the Freon to charge my system. They were told in advance that I believed the Freon was low. He told me I could call a small mom and pop and they might be able to do it, but his company does not install R 22. The technician looked at my AC and heating unit and then went to his truck and came back with six different estimates from $900-$6000 to fix my unit. I called another company because I was concerned after they came out and was told nothing was wrong with my system. these guys are scammers. They've called me multiple times to get my business back. Today I finally talked to Trinity who is one of their sales consultant who wanted to know how they could earn my business back and become a five star company. I told her give me my money back for the service call that was a fraud. A few hours later I was notified That my refund was denied and there was nothing they could do. Do not call these people. They are crooks. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

My disabled husband just came home from having his foot amputated and our AC went out. I called several companies but none serviced where we live in the mountains but when I called monarch they had my appt set for right away and also used texting to confirm and keep me informed until the work was done. the technician was awesome and did a great job! it was the best experience with a home repair 0 BS! read more
