They installed the heating and AC at our DR Horton home. First year heater was plugged with something they forgot to remove from installation and wouldn't turn on. Bought the house in summer time. They never tested it upon installation. We have a room we never used but now we have a baby and it's her room. It's winter and it's time for the baby to move into her room from the bassinet. Wow the air doesn't come out of that vent! I call them to come fix their problem yet again and now they want to charge because their labor is over a year old. Sure that's fine but your labor obviously didn't test the system so as far as I'm concerned the job is still incomplete. So my 1 year warranty hasn't started. Until you guys test all areas of the system and guarantee they are working perfectly the job isn't complete. I know 100% fact this system was never tested by the installers. I'd love to see who signed off on that paperwork illegally. It's not that fact that it's under warranty, it's the fact that they are a terrible company with zero accountability for their shitty work. Here is a concept that never crossed their minds. When you come to the house or place of business to fix something, how's about you go to every room and make sure it's doing its job perfectly in every room. Car mechanics do that. You go in for an oil change and they want to change breaks, tires, hoses. Anything that looks like it is bad or going bad. This company replaces something has you sign off on it that they replaced it and leave they don't test their work. They don't verify it is working perfectly. If I owned an old house I would want to know if my ducting needed cleaned or replaced. These guys wouldn't bother to test it or tell you. 0 stars. read more

This is a 5 star review for PETE. He installed our unit 12 years ago. He is thorough, efficient and respectful. However, the person answering the telephone on most days, not the other lady, is not very pleasant, not very professional, and borderline rude. This person does not identify herself, so I do not have her name. Expect to get a very rudely delivered verbal notice that "It will be $95.00 for the technician to show up at the door, and $85.00 per hour thereafter". I am perfectly aware that it will cost money... just polish up the way the company is being represented. Why? Why write this on a Yelp review? It's important that the community knows what to expect. Yes. I will call them again for A/C tune-up, yearly service, yes I will. Just hoping that I hear a FRIENDLY voice next time. Unit is running flawlessly. THANKS PETE!!! read more

My thermostat went bad and I wanted it swapped out (since it's still under warranty per manufacture), but company wants to charge me $95 for sending a representative out even though we already identified the problem. Ridiculous. Refuses for me to go exchange it in person/ship it to me. Avoid this company at all cost. read more

I've been in my new construction home for over 3 years and have had multiple issues with the AC. My builder referred Central Heating & Cooling in Tulare because they installed the AC Unit. Each time they came out we would have cold air for a year or so and then the AC would blow warm. They never really fixed the issue which was an evap coil leak that was covered for 5 years, but the labor wasn't. They came out and quoted me over $1,500.00. in Labor to fix the AC. I decided to call another AC repair co for a 2nd quote and they told me parts and Labor were covered 100% because they had an agreement with Lennox, the maker of the AC unit. The funny thing is that Central Heating and Cooling said they also had an agreement with Lennox, which makes me wonder if they are getting paid from Lennox and the homeowner for labor. Also, the little bit of service I received was not good. A few days after the service tech came out I happened to notice that he took out the big fuse plug by my AC unit but never put it back in. He also didn't properly close the the entrance to my attic. Customer service was not great either as it took multiple attempts on my part to receive a call back or to get a quote (which took 10 days). read more

They are quick to get your business but refuse to fix their horrible installation. Technicians install but do a poor job. Owner is horrible to work with and rude and staff do not return calls. Home builder tried to see if they could help after a brand new build and they refused to only put it on the warranty. Central Heating and Cooling installed a unit in my mother's 100 year old home. Patrick and his crew planned and accomplished a great feat!!! My mother would not allow any extra holes in her ceiling or walls, so he had to work with what was there. They did a wonderful job. They were kind, thoughtful, and cleaned up when they had to enlarge the ducts. I had difficulty getting the app working on my phone and Beto came back to help me later that afternoon. Our home builder apparently uses this company for their warranty work so Jessica called me to schedule and appointment. They gave me a window of 10am-1pm. At 1:30 when no one had called or showed, I called Jessica and told her I hadn't seen or heard from anyone. She said " I don't know but maybe they are on another job that is running late. They should be there soon." She offered no apology nor to call the repair person and ask where they were. Needless to say, they never showed up at all and never called. The next morning I called and spoke with Erica and explained the situation to her. She also offered no apology but just wanted my address. I gave it to her and she scheduled another appointment for the next week. It remains to be seen if they will show up on time or at all. It's amazing that in this day and age businesses who don't care at all about customer service can survive. Well if you care, may I suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more

My air conditioner stopped working on July 25th. I have been a customer of First American Home Warranty for years. I called them on July 25th and they scheduled a repair appointment with Standlee Heating and A/C. Standlee showed up on July 26 AFTER DARK, at 8:40pm. "Josh" climbed on the roof and REMOVED the condensing fan motor then disappeared into thin air. NEVER heard from him again even though I left him AND the owner, Jack plenty of messages. Fast forward 5 days. CARLOS SAVED THE DAY. He graciously offered to have one of his technicians, FERNANDO, come to my home and repair the air conditioner. (so kind!) I would highly recommend Carlos, owner of Central Heating and COOLING, as the BEST A/C repair company in the valley!!!! They did a GREAT job!!! Carlos even called the next day to make sure that everything was working. (who does THAT these days? Hardly anybody.) We used Jose Medrano from Central Air and paid him for units and materials. He stole our money and never finished the job or gave us the units or materials. I would NEVER recommend this company because of Jose Medrano. He has continued to lie over and over. After many attempts to get our money and materials back with no success we will be taking legal action. If Central Air has not fired him they should! read more

On Sunday my unit went out and I called Central Heating and Cooling, they had representatives out on Monday and told me that they could fix it and get me up and running, but that the unit was old and that I would continue to have problems. By Tuesday morning they were at my house first thing and had a new unit up running. Everyone I dealt with, from one of the owners to the service techs were polite, respectful and professional.
