Monarch Burger is back! For some bizarre reason I missed the first go around in the late 2010s. Located on popular busy Main St, this is one smash burger you must try! The restaurant is definitely a 'hole in the wall' type of look, but don't be fooled. The Dirty Burger is the one! Excellent taste of an ol skool Smash Burger. The fries were a surprise delight as well with added black pepper - which I usually avoid in meals - it tends to tickle my throat. The menu is simple - burgers & fries. No milkshakes nor salads. However, you can get Poutine. Mornarch Burger motto - no stunt burgers! It's patio season so come down when it's sunny.

Solid. Smash burger. Crispy and cool veggies. Also has nachos, poutine, Mario's gelato and Batch next door serving booze and non alcoholic drinks. Cozy outdoor seating overlooking the pool and ocean. Great service, four starts because... Bun is delicious and toasted but too much for the burger (maybe double might work), and would benefit from some sort of sauce. Reasonably priced, didn't love the wines at Batch next door but they have beer and cocktails (everything in cans). Washrooms on site and dog friendly.

Had to return to sample the renowned burger. Very good! Bun browned on the grill. Tasty sauce, just right, not dripping to the elbow, but oozy. This burger is a two-handed deal. Crispy iceberg lettuce, substantial slice of ripe tomato makes this burger juicy and tasty. And it smells really good! Patio dining is under cover, picnic tables for two, and larger tables for groups. Great people watching here.

Great place to stop for a snack when riding the skytrain. Quirky little place with a nice vibe,…read moresuper friendly staff and the owner is a pretty cool dude. Great dips, killer fries, delectable poutine sauce A solid choice that has never disappointed

I was outvoted and dragged here kicking and screaming. Then they promised I could order "The Gaucho…read moreCowboy". Now I'm intrigued. Have to go. This could be the greatest staff in all of Southern BC. Patient, kind, humorous. Not only can they explain the different items and their ingredients, they can describe exactly how it all tastes. To which they are 100% accurate! The six of us played community food, but what's the point here? All the poutine was awesome. Oh well, it's fun to share. Yes, get The Gaucho "Cowboy", but also try the Butter Chicken, Vegetarian Chili and my favourite, the Le Montreal. ALL the poutines rocked! The burgers are juicy and full of flavour. This group has found a way to marry all the flavours so they complement each other all through the meal until the end. Portion size was another crazy, happy surprise. So much so that the cost no longer matters (as you may have guessed, the cost was reasonable). Still, if it's just a couple of you, you might go regular as opposed to jumbo...unless you're thinking late night leftovers. We pigged-out and didn't get a chance to reheat this food. Mistake on my part. 05/25
