My review of Nick Issa, a relator with Sotheby's International Realtors…read more I was referred to Nick by a banker. Now, at the time my family looked for our home this was a sellers' market with a ton of cash out there and we were an FHA loan : (. We looked at over 80 homes, wrote 28 offers, and finally landed a beautiful, fully updated home that we could not be happier with. Nick's number 1 strength: Communication. He is all about communication and during the home buying process; this is the number 1 asset to help keep your sanity. He is a "dot the I" and cross the" T" kind of guy that never leaves a stone unturned. He will make sure everyone in the process is executing their duties and always lets you know what is going on. He will go above and beyond for you with communication. Nick's number 2 strength: Patience I was not the easiest client. I evolved what I wanted (as will you in a sellers' market) during the process but all the time Nick was accepting and patient with me. (Abides by a code of ethics); Without telling a long story, Nick advised me multiple times not to accept terms the in negotiations (they wanted unrealistic terms and conditions) when I did not fully understand this process or when they were trying to hoodwink me by something I did not understand but would have been bad for me. After learning about the entire process (I could now teach a course), he saved me from getting into bad deals in the beginning. He was more interested in getting my family a great home we would love at a great deal than to just make money. He did this even towards the end of the process at month number 6 and offer number 24 (of 28). I was impressed. I cannot stress enough how important this is!!!! (Educator): I was ignorant to the entire process when we first went out. . Well, as the process of looking for a home began, Nick spent a lot of time educating me on the process and answered all of my questions to the fullest extent. He taught me things not to do, what to look for, how to read the MLS listings, how the process worked, the market conditions, and much, much more. (Dedicated): This guy spent 6 months looking for me. He wrote 28 offers. He took me out countless times. He did this for a client that only had an ideal target of 200k. He had other clients that had big $$$ deals going on (overheard parts of non-sensitive conversations) but he makes equal time regardless of how much your looking to spend. (Negotiating skills); if you are wondering about negotiating skill, this is not something the relator has some magical power over when in a sellers' market. You can ask for whatever you like, if they don't like it, they won't even tell you. You'll get the "dear john" email of "sorry, we accepted another offer". When negotiating comes into play Nick will do his work and position you to have leverage or negotiating pieces (I.E. closing costs, repairs, etc.) when the seller attempts to muscle you. My point, he is good. (connected); He has many contacts and connections in the industry that came in handy. He knew over 80% of the relators in the area that were the selling agent in offers we wrote. (Flexible): He'll work around your schedule and he works 7 days a week. (not opinionated); He is there for you with whatever you think you want. I had some stupid "had to have" in the beginning (I.E. pool) but he diligently did his work to make sure I would get a home we would love. Well, there might be some more strong points but I think you get the message if you read this far. If I had to say something bad, it would be saying something out of necessity to balance this review but the truth is, there is not glaring deficiency in Nick's relator practices. It is what it is.

Heather is attentive, knowledgeable, fast, professional, and seems like just an all around caring and delightful person. She was never pushy and really helped us to figure out what was best for us and did not try to push us in one way or another. We met up so many times during our search to check out condos and homes together. It was a fun and exciting process and even if something turned out to be not quite what we expected it helped us to learn what was important to us in our search. Heather never made us feel we were wasting her time or anything like that. It was all a learning experience and she also gave us so many tips around each place regarding the neighborhood and things we should check out. She was also great at helping us work through disclosure packets and helping us to make an offer. Speaking of offers she helped to edit our letter to the seller and made it so much better than we could have alone. Heather also knows a lot of other people in the industry and who she suggested for our loan was really great as well! Hope to work with you again Heather and we will invite you over after we are all moved in! Heather, you are AWESOME!

We had viewed a house over the weekend and fell in love with it but our realtor was on vacation in France. The house was also taking final offers in just 3 days. Luckily our realtor was able to refer us to Heather. Heather stepped in immediately and was such a huge help for us. She was professional, friendly, a true expert in the field, super responsive, thorough, and made the complex subject of offering on a home incredibly clear. In no time, Heather had read the disclosure documents, highlighted pertinent information for us, and offered to meet us at the home. She helped us make sure that it was physically ready for us and that it was actually the right choice for what we were looking for in a home. After the offer was submitted she was able to network extremely well with the listing agent and kept us updated almost hourly throughout the offer process. This was great as we were on the edge of our seats, checking our email every 2 seconds in anticipation. To top it all off, we didn't even have the highest offer but ours was chosen due to Heather's advice in how we structured and communicated it. Thank you so much, Heather, for getting us up to speed in such a short amount of time and ultimately helping us land our dream home at a reasonable price. It was such a pleasure working with you!

I had a very torturous short sale which few realtors are experienced in to start with, and then had to fire my original realtor when he couldn't even manage to fax two pieces of paper competently! Jennifer was there at her desk - the only one in the whole city of Tiburon I might add - and the rest is history. She was on top of the process every step of the way, took over communications with my bank, set up most documents electronically since I work 300 miles away most weeks, and made the whole transaction as smooth as it could possibly be. This agency is unprofessional. There was a theft of my designer handbags (stolen out of my closed…read morecloset doors) during an open house. The agency claimed that I was the one legally responsible for this loss because I signed the typical Realtor document which absolves them of theft liability. Legally they are right. However, this was the second time in less than 3 months that the same crime was committed during an open house hosted by an agent from Frank Howard Allen Tiburon. I asked the office manager why he did not alert his clients to this type of thefts -- since the first one was committed within walking distance from my house during one of his agent's showing. At first, the office manager denied the theft. Then I gave him the police report number, the location and date of the previous theft. He reluctantly acknowledged it happened. He once again cited the legal document I had signed and said they were not liable. When I asked him if he thought I would have left any designer handbags in my closet if I had known there was a similar theft down the street in a home that they were represented, he repeated that the agency had no liability in that crime either. I will never know if an agent in their office was stealing designer handbags or if it was a random agent who needed extra cash. (We believe it was an agent because both crimes happened during the Brokers' Open.) What I do know is that they failed to disclose this crime within their brokerage until I forced them to so and that they do not care about doing the right thing for their clients. Full disclosure, I did not fire them, but I should have. There are many professional brokers in Marin and they will take care of their customers and their customers' belongings. I recommend that you work with them, not Frank Howard Allen Tiburon. The management of this office does not care about their clients or obviously their reputation.

Adam did an amazing job selling my loft in SOMA!…read more I remembered seeing some of Adam's properties that he was selling back when I was looking to buy a loft and remembered his listings all looked beautifully staged and ready to sell. I also remembered that those properties sold pretty quickly. When it came time to sell my place it was a no brainer on who to contact. I live in Southern California and was concerned with getting my rental property in SF presentable while also timing it well with the real estate market. From the moment I called Adam, he hit the ground running getting my place move in ready and listed. He took care of EVERYTHING from start to finish ie. putting me in touch with the right people to replace the floors/carpet, finding a reliable and extremely reasonable handyman to get the place ready, staging the place, helping me coordinate with my rental tenant...etc. He literally removed all the stress from selling my place and made the process quick and easy.
