He handed me his business card and said he was Lou La Gatta. He started in 2007 under the name of Marin Realty Group. He apparently has not learned to deal with buyers in a more productive way in the last 14 years since I find myself so annoyed at how I was treated, that I came here to warn others. At any rate, I went to look at a home with him, but he didn't seem to know anything about it. He had to refer to the sellers disclosure paperwork a lot, as if he just got around to reading it for the first time. His attitude changed as soon as he "assumed" I was not going to make a offer and basically told me I needed to leave. Little did he know I was also using this visit, to see if he might be the right agent to help me sell my two properties. If he would have had a better attitude I would have tossed business his way. But this guy lacked basic patience, politeness and showed no interest of knowing things about the home he was supposed to be selling. I felt he was doing this as a hobby and didn't really want to put any real effort into it. My suggestion is look elsewhere for someone who is more of a "people person" who knows their inventory. Lou La Gatta unfortunately chose the wrong business for his personality.

When I went to check the breaker as instructed by PG&E, the lightbulbs in the basement had been removed and it was pitch black. While I was trying to flip my breaker on, my back was turned and Ty Harris (who doesn't live in my building) came up from behind me and physically assaulted me. He hit me, threw me into a concrete wall, put his hands all over my body ripping at my skin, and chased me up a flight of stairs... I was bleeding from multiple areas. This is a premeditated assault. Violence.. There has been no apology from structure properties, no explanation for his behavior. Why do I have to explain to human adults that unlawful violence is bad?

My father has Alzheimer's and reached a point where it was no longer medically safe for him to live independently. Their move to assisted living was not a choice -- it was a medical necessity. Despite extensive communication and documentation explaining these circumstances, the property management response was rigid, transactional, and strikingly lacking in compassion. The situation was treated purely as a contractual inconvenience rather than a human crisis involving cognitive decline and elder care. They also levied a "leasing commission" - $5500! - to re-rent the immaculately kept house that took exactly one day for them to re-rent. What was most distressing was not just the financial posture taken, but the tone: repeated legalistic arguments with no acknowledgment of my father's condition, no empathy for an elderly couple in crisis, and no effort to handle the situation with basic humanity. If you are a tenant who expects empathy, discretion, or flexibility when life takes an unexpected and serious turn, I strongly encourage you to think carefully before working with this property management company.
