This salon was recommended to my daughter and myself by our regular salon which is temporarily closed for renovations. The salon itself is really lovely and elegant. The staff was also very nice. We both got pedicures, mine wasn't very good, the massage part is my favorite and it's why I chose the $48 coconut pedicure. There was no massage, just lightly gliding her hands on my feet. It was disappointing. We were both charged $10 extra to remove existing gel polish, even though we both were already paying for pedicures. Then, my nails. They wanted to charge me $5 more to shorten them. I said no thank you. They also charged my daughter an extra $10 to take off her gel polish on her hands even though she was getting gel. So already that's $30 extra for basic services that we don't get charged for at other salons. Now on to my nails which if I could give no stars I would. My natural nails are long and I love them. The very next day after getting them done 2 have broken off. I was doing my dishes and wiping my counters so nothing out of the ordinary. Not even 24 hours later! I'm so upset and angry about how much we were charged and now I have to go and get them redone. This salon was about 30 minutes away and had it not been a recommendation we would never had tried it out. I do not recommend this salon. They over charge, charge extra for things that should be included in the service, and the work was awful. It makes no sense, $5 to trim your nail while you're already getting them done? $10 extra to remove polish even though you're getting them done? And I think he said they charge $20 extra for gel or shellac on your toes. To clarify, yes we were informed about the additional charges but as we had already started our pedicures we just said okay but that still doesn't make it right. I saw the owners comment, I've had long nails for over 10 years now and this has never happened before. So it's not the length, it's the poor quality of the work done.

I asked for an almond shape full set of nails. She did what I asked her to do, but the shaping of the nails needed more shaping, and the acrylic was laid down very thick. When she was finished, I mentioned to her that I did not like the way the nails came out that they needed to be thinned out and re-shaped. It looked as if I needed a fill before I left. She told me that if I wanted for it to look new then I need to pay additional for that. I told her that I had to leave and would not pay anything extra. She told me if I did not like my nails to come back on Tuesday because they were closed on Monday and she would fix it. I didn't make it out until Thursday, but before I went to the salon, I called and spoke with her and she told me to come in at a certain time and that she would fix it. Once I got there, she looked at my hands and she said everything was fine and that if I wanted any additional services I would have to pay for them. She recommended that I would get a fill, and if I wanted them to be thinned out, they would charge me to take them off and charge me for a brand new set to be placed back on. I find it ridiculous and sad that a long time customer has to go look for another nail salon because she did not want to fix what she had done. Unfortunately, I have acrylic all on the sides of my nail onto the skin and she still would not fix that. The shape is not the same for all nails and they are not even. She was very quick to try to get me to sit down and offer services to me but at full price. I understand this is a business, and everyone wants to make money, but the service you provide does matter. If the customer is not happy with the services you provided, then the nail tech should fix the work that was done. She was quick to argue with me, but still wanted me to sit down and get services done at full price. It's really sad because I am a loyal customer and have been going there for so many years, but to pay as much as they're charging and not be satisfied or not even mediocre happy for that matter is totally not worth it. There are a ton of nail salons all down Culebra where anyone can just move on as I have done now. If you do go to the nail salon, I would suggest you use Tommy or the other male gentleman and if neither one of them are available, don't settle for anyone else.

I asked if I could borrow a charger and he said they didn't have one in the whole store but when I went last month, they had one it was really weird and then he threw me out before my polish dried. I've never had such disrespect. I am a 60 year old woman with money to spend. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
