I'm unfortunately disappointed with my recent experiences at Emme Beauty. I want to be clear that…read morethis review is not a reflection of my nail tech or the quality of her work, which I have always appreciated. My concern is specifically with the salon's communication and customer service. Last week, I called to ask if I could walk in for a quick nail trim and was given a time to come in. When I called back to confirm I was on my way, I was then told not to come because the salon was fully booked. Today, I arrived for my scheduled appointment at 1:30 and waited approximately 22 minutes without anyone acknowledging the delay or communicating how much longer the wait would be. I ultimately asked to reschedule. What was most disappointing was that rather than receiving an acknowledgment or apology for the lack of communication, I was made to feel as though my request to reschedule was an inconvenience. I completely understand that salons run behind and schedules change. My issue is not the wait itself, but how both situations were handled. A simple acknowledgment, update, or apology would have gone a long way. I really enjoy my nail tech and her work, which is why it's disappointing that the overall salon experience and lack of professional communication have left me feeling this way.

"Check Out my Cute Nails"…read more While browsing Instagram one afternoon, I came across photos of some highly decorated, Pinterest worthy, I want to be their NEXT Nail MODEL nails. As an avid nail art lover, I was enamored by the designs created, as well as the level of detail within the pictures on Ryan's Nails Instagram page. Don't get me wrong, San Antonio does have an assortment of talented nail technicians, but these babies had me scrolling into the wee hours of the morning looking for my next selection and Ryan has amassed a humble 62.5 K Instagram followers... (Not To Shabby Ryan... Not to Shabby). I took screen shot after screen shot and without haste, made my way to the salon that weekend with my screen shots in hand. The salon was located about 20 minutes from my home and was a quick ride up 1604. Nestled in a small shopping complex, I entered the salon promptly at 1000 A.M. and was greeted with a smile by Jenny. The salon was very clean, modest in size and already had a few patrons getting beautified inside. Jenny and I discussed my options and I went all in and treated myself to a spa pedicure, as well as showed Jenny my Instagram designs. She offered me a cold drink and began to work her magic on my little piggies. She finished my pedicure and presented me with some complimentary colors that would accentuate my nails. We chose a soft rose to make my toes pop and escorted me to Lori, my nail technician, who was finishing up another customer's nails. I switched seats with the exiting customer and showed my photos to Lori. She quickly analyzed the photos and we decided on a version that she said was also known as wedding nails (please see photo posted). The price was higher than what I've normally paid in San Antonio, but I'll add you get what you pay for. The price definitely reflected the level of detail I received and rivaled salon photos of trendy salons I follow in Hollywood and around the United States. Ryan introduced himself to me and I knew that I had a new Nail Salon to show off my "Customized Cute Nails". Highly Recommended and Closed on Sundays!

I entered, did the normal check in and then was asked to wash my hands before picking out my polish color. Sitting down, it looked like every other seat was available for use so there was plenty of spacing. When I was looking around, I also noticed each station had sanitizing wipes. Every nail technician was wearing a mask and unless someone was drinking every customer was also (I'm not sure if they require customers to wear a mask). Wendy was the person who did my pedicure ($40 for a base pedi) and she spent so much time making such my toes looked great. All other nail salons I've been to have always used a plastic covering for the foot bath. The gentleman who did my pedicure (who's name has escaped me at the moment, my apologies.) cut my toenails TOO short and rounded them out too much, I asked for a squared clip with the edges filed down a bit so it wouldn't be sharp. It caused me to get a further ingrown toenail that I had asked him to remove, but he didn't really seem to know how. it's now infected and in mighty pain and I have to wait for the toenail to grow out a bit before I can do anything about it. I wouldn't really recommend this place sadly, It seemed promising when I walked in, but the price was too high for the quality of service I received. Thank you for your time but I won't be returning.
