We were told that the owner makes her own pastas and pesto. It sure tasted like it! Unique menu offerings and quality food, along with a full service bar and warm atmosphere, made this dining experience one of the best evenings out! And in a small town...you would never expect it! read more

Thanks to Yelp, we found this place when we were stuck in Eau Claire overnight. It's the type of place where I'd feel comfortable wearing a dress/something dressier, but we felt okay wearing jeans. The wonton shrimp was good, 6 pieces with a small salad - really nice, flavorful - a little pricey at $10, but I'd probably get it again. My husband & I weren't terribly hungry & we shared the Merlot beef. It, too, was pretty good - lots of mushrooms & tomatoes with wide egg noodles. I'd read on Yelp that they have fresh pasta - I couldn't tell if it was or not, and the menu didn't specify. The desserts looked great but we didn't have room. Very friendly waitress. I'd give it 5 stars, but it was a little bit pricey. Extensive alcohol menu. read more

Seems like a place I would take a date, although I would classify this place more of a seafood restaurant (with pizza) rather than Italian. My chicken pasta wasn't amazing but I would give this restaurant another chance and would try the pizza. As a side note, I loved the cover to their drink menu. read more

Excellent atmosphere. Cozy and elegant. Menu has variety and is tasty. The appetizers were great. Service was friendly. Clean.

Great place for appetizers or dinner. We had drinks at the comfortable couch seats while waiting for our table. Our table was nestled in a window seating. Great atmosphere. We had a blast taking photos of ourselves as Mona Lisa. read more

This place was a glorious gem of a find! Without a doubt a must stop when in Chippewa falls . Everyone in our party was beyond impressed !

Mona Lisa's is such a great restaurant! We met Lisa, the owner, she was very personable and helped us pick something delicious to eat and even made us a delicious pizza appetizer! Jess was our server and was really good at picking out a wine for each of us to enjoy and waiting on us throughout the night. Overall Jess was a fabulous server and there is delicious food! read more

Solid modern Italian style restaurant. The food is among the best in town, it's definitely modern with interesting specials but it is also familiar and filling. There's always plenty of staples on the ample menu, so everyone in your party will find something they can eat. However, it still feels somewhat over-priced to me. The decor is great, but the acoustics really amplify everyone's conversation - on a busy night you have to raise your voice to be heard. I love the fire. read more

Best I have had in the area. The board, the olives, the tortalini Rockefeller, the beats all was so good with such high quality preparations. Please come here and enjoy food and life. read more

Stop searching. Eat here. Every dish is one step better then you expect it to be, and I expected it it to really good. Sit on the patio on a nice night. read more

Yum!! Great place in Eau Claire for a dinner and the food is delicious! Let's start with the wine list, it's first class especially for being away from a big city. There are selections from around the world and prices are reasonable. They also have some phenomenal bottles if you want to indulge yourself like smoking loon. We had the baked cheese and bread which was very good and paired it with a nice South American bottle of melbec red wine. For the main course we had the gnocchi and grilled shrimp. Both were wonderful. All in all, most likely one of the best places in Eau Claire for dinner. read more

Great location, perfect seafood preparation . Very attentive , friendly staff even when swamped read more

The appetizers were absolutely to die for. I would go for apps alone! Wine was fab and my meal was good as well. A little pricey but be sure to spoil yourself with the apps!! Best restaurant Eau Claire has to offer. read more

I love Mona Lisa's and everytime I'm in town from CA I love to have dinner. The menu is very enticing and thye have a pretty good wine selection. I tried a scallop dish on my last visit and I cant wait to get to Eau Claire again to eat this dish another time. This restauarant is a must to eat at if you are either traveling or want to have both great food an an enjoyable atmosphere. read more

Great menu, solid service, nice ambience if a little noisy, probably the best food in Eau Claire. Wine selection is excellent.

Excellent staff, un-matched drink selections, great atmosphere, and fantastic food. I go there as often as I can afford.

In town on business, at Mona Lisa for dinner...again! Finally found the outdoor patio which was a very welcomed surprise. We started off with a unique bottle of wine, followed by dinner, then dessert. Consequently had drinks and apps at their sister spot- Stella Blue (high marks too). Dinner, service and ambiance was as expected- fantastic. We had the sausage pasta, salmon, scallops and I'm sorry Emily- didn't even see what you had because you Literally inhaled it, but it looked like a warm bowl of comforting pasta. Coming in from Chicago, it's a welcomed break from the "usual" overpriced and often overcrowded restaurants I frequent. Kudos to the warm hearted staff for reseating us (mid meal) from the dining room to the garden out back. Looking for another excuse to come back to town and enjoy what in my humble opinion is one of the Midwest's most enjoyable spots. read more

Great service, drink selection, and menu. I struggled to choose just one entree! The Bourbon Scallops were beautifully cooked, though the sauce was a touch sweet for my taste. Would definitely recommend and return! read more

Excellent. We stopped here while traveling from Oshkosh to Minneapolis. It is not too far off the highway and worth the detour. Great service from Rachel and wonderful Italian food. We started with a basket of three types of bread and a cheesy spread. We both had pasta dishes and both were great. Serving sizes are generous but not excessive. We ended dinner with a chocolate torte. If we pass this way again we will plan to stop at Mona Lisa's. read more

This is by far the best restaurant I have been to in a while. We have been to this restaurant twice within the past 2 months and both times we had an excellent dinning experience. The owner and staff are very friendly and even made our 22month old daughter happy. We had the brussel sprouts and baked feta as an appetizer, for entrees: mushroom ravioli, short ribs and spicy shrimp pasta dish. All items were excellent and enjoyed by all. We look forward to returning in the near future. read more

From the moment we walked in the door Lisa made sure we were well aware that we were an imposition. Showing up with a group of 8, although we had made online reservations, made a note that there were more than 6 of us, left a voice mail asking to make sure it was ok, and having received a text back saying it was fine. Her demeanor from the start was terse and impatient. We shrugged it off and went ahead with dinner, sitting at two separate tables to accommodate the Covid restrictions. Dinner was fine, our waitstaff was friendly. Took about two hours for them to serve bread, entree, and dessert. Five minutes after our bill was paid, Lisa showed up at our table, demanding we leave to open up the table because she was operating at limited capacity. As I stood at the front door waiting for an opportunity to confront her about her attitude, I realized that all she had waiting was three other tables, one of whom was 15 minutes early for their reservation. Hardly a line out the door.... One iota of patience on her part would have left us with a good experience and no real problems. When I did confront her about her attitude, she responded rudely to that as well, ultimately, the best she could come up with was "well you don't need to come back." Don't worry, we won't. This place would be far better off keeping Lisa in the back of the house, and not letting her interact with customers. When you drop $400 at a place, you don't expect to be asked to leave, and you certainly don't expect to be told not to come back. read more

Love the food and atmosphere! Always consistent with quality and great wine selection too.

Lovely place! The calamari and pizzas are excellent, as well as many of the other menu choices. The perfect place for a date, and it is not expensive. The atmosphere is very nice, although some of the seating is a little too close and crowded depending on where you sit. Friendly staff! Have come back here many times since my first visit. read more

This place is better than an outback steakhouse - with double the cost and no parking and its loud in there. I do think it would be a good place to bring a date or have apps and a bottle of wine. Its definatelly a late 90's type of "hip" - like a post grunge coffee shop with college artwork on the walls. and someone reading at the bar. There was a buzz about this place when it first opened but that is over now. - and I see some other reviewers agree with me. read more

Excellent food, truly fabulous experience highly reccomended . Great service and worth the money spent.

Had an enjoyable date night with my husband tonight, and had EXCEPTIONAL service with TAYLOR~great waiter...conscientious, knew his menu, quick and personal. The restaurant was crowded for a Wednesday, early Christmas parties maybe? We had to be in and out quick, and Taylor made it happen. A must to ask for on your future visits... read more

We took the advice of other Yelpers and tried this restaurant before seeing a show (we're from Minneapolis & were just visiting). We loved everything about this place! Highly recommended! read more

An extraordinary meal. The perfect conclusion to a nostalgic day returning to ny university, along with my daughter also a graduate and my granddaughter a prospective student. I had the most amazing Bourbon scallops. The best scallops I've ever had. The others had different pastas and all raved at their quality and flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very large menu wonderful service inviting environment. Located on historic Water Street, actually across the street from where my wife and I am 51 years ago had our first apartment as I finished my undergraduate work. Viva Mona Lisa. read more

So disappointed... Drove down for date on Saturday and they wouldn't let us sit out on patio We were really looking forward to wine and great pizza on patio...left and went elsewhere... read more

I was in town for work and discovered this gem of a restaurant. The decor is great, the food amazing, and the service was outstanding! I was blessed to have Lisa, the owner, working at the bar (my colleague and I sat at the bar instead of moving to the dining room after our cocktails, because Lisa was so friendly and we were enjoying our conversation with her). My only disappointment is that I didn't find it until my last night in town. I'd have eaten here every night. I will definitely be back next time I am in Eau Claire. You definitely can't go wrong choosing Mona Lisa's. read more

This was my first experience at Mona Lisa's. My husband and I have been wanting to try it for quite awhile. Knowing it was described more as a romantic, adult restaurant we waited for date night. Our reservation was for 6:15 and the restaurant was pretty sparse when we arrived. Our waitress was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our dinner and the food was fabulous! While we were there the restaurant quickly filled up. It went from quiet and romantic to very loud and hard to hold a conversation quickly. This was disappointing. I was also surprised that our water glasses were plastic. They seemed out of place with the rest of the place setting. Not a great first impression, not sure that we'd return. read more

Amazing drinks, amazing food. Great service. Awesome decor. Wish I lived closer, I'd be here every night.

I had three girlfriends who had not been to this fabulous restaurant. They are still raving about the meal! We drove an hour to get there and will be returning with the spouses. Thank-you to the terrific chefs and staff for an unforgettable dining experience!!! read more

Very disappointed in the service and lack of selection. I was really excited to try this place based on the reviews but my husband and I will not be going back. read more

Had the pasta Rockefeller and it was delicious! The staff were friendly but it was a little pricey. Will definitely come again.

Our very resturant in Eau Claire( our home town). Love the atmosphere. The wine and the Sangria in the summer is my favorite. Another great drink is the Mona Margarita. Many fantastic and beautifully prepared meals....Our favorite include seasonal dishes Walleye with smashed potatoes, mushroom ravioli, island chicken, and calamari. Also love the sea bass when on the menu. Love the Greek salad, roasted garlic soup and the BEST fresh tasting gazpacho in the summer. Excellent service! Ask for Jay at the bar or Brian or Managua for your server. We are rarely dissapointed by anything and often eat here. For dessert the chocolate pecan torte is amazing and my husband loves the good lattes. Always an enjoyable experience that we love to share with friends. read more

They do NOT make there own pasta fresh. I know I worked here. If you knew what went on in the kitchen, you would feel ripped off. Pretentious snobby, and for the price, I would expect WAY more. She thinks very highly of herself, yet knows very little about true fine dining. Save your money, go to Dragonettes. read more

I have visited Mona Lisa's several times. We went there last week with friends to celebrate out anniversary. Unless the sound atmosphere is improved, this was our LAST visit. I have always been pleased with the culinary choices, but it always was a bit noisy. This week it was over the top! We could not carry on a conversation at out table. I wish you would do something about this. It does NOT fit with your fine dining offerings - in my opinion! read more

Mona Lisa's Restaurant is one of the greatest restaurants I have ever experienced. The environment is welcoming and warm with great interior design. The food was exquisite along with a wide assortment of wines, which are equally as wonderful. The servers have been delightful each time I have eaten at Mona Lisa's. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in a more fancy night out with family or friends. The prices are a little expensive, but the whole experience make it worth it! read more

Fabulous local restaurant with nice ambiance, attentive staff and terrific food. The rigatoni with Italian sausage was first rate.
