Fried rice

Had high hopes for momotaro but I have to say it was definitely not my favorite. We loved the fried rice but it was the only star. With so much to offer in Nashville we probably won't be back but I'd consider it a fun one time experience.

We came here to celebrate a birthday after hearing so many good things about this new spot in the Wedgewood area. One of my friends has a gluten intolerance and right away they asked if anyone had food allergies. They were able to provide her with a gluten-free menu, which she read about in the other locations. Our table shared a few appetizers, including the shishito peppers, edamame, and octopus. Everything was great except the second order of shishito peppers came out without the sauce because it contained soy. The manager Blake, came over to apologize, along with our server, Emily, and even the food runner. Emily had made a note about the allergy, and they all genuinely cared about making it right. They kept checking in on us, and their customer service really stood out. My other friendhad the Nashville Hot Mapo, and Emily suggested adding a side of rice, which was definitely the right call because the portion was huge. I opted and tried the Una-Kyu and Momo Maki rolls. They were both tasty but one of the rolls fell apart a bit. The restaurant has a really modern vibe, the bathrooms are shared with the other two restaurants and are unisex, they even had a bathroom attendant. The service was top-notch I'd definitely come back, not only because I still want to check out the cocktail bar next door, but because they made us feel genuinely taken care of. That's the kind of service you don't forget. Shoutout to the manager and team!

This is an Asian fusion restaurant in the hip Weho neighborhood. I am usually weary of trying sushi in Nashville but decided to give this place a try. Parking is a task and most often paid in this part of town. The decor is modern, minimalist yet comfortable. I was seated at the bar almost immediately. The staff were kind enough to make some suggestions. I got the a salmon avocado roll and the Mishima skirt skewers. Loved the skewers, very juicy and flavorful. The roll was nothing to write home about...for all the descriptors used in the menu it just tasted flat and not something I would ever order again.

Unagi

A mixed bag - I'll start with the positive (as there are many). Food is outstanding - no question about it, really great meal. We had the Duck Bao starter and dived directly into sushi after that. Some Unagi and Toro nigiri to follow. Then a trifecta of some of the best according to our lovely server Shayla. Spicy Tuna, A5, and Snow Crab/Shrimp. All were delectable and well presented. Cocktails were knockouts as well. Cutlery and presentation were excellent. Service service service. The FOH experience is pretty poor I must say. We had a reservation for 7:45 and waited almost 20 minutes for a table. In that time we were encouraged to sit in their "lounge" and or grab a drink at the bar. We're rolling with it, let's grab a drink at the bar. I'm not sure if they just didn't stagger the reservations or what, but an absolutely awful experience trying to get a drink at a full service bar. If you're going to pawn people off to the bar staff because you're not turning tables as quickly as expected I'd at least like that to be an enjoyable experience and it was not. There's not a good spot to get a drink, you're standing over people who are full service dining, really uncomfortable and not great. Then - the kicker - after waiting almost 30 minutes for a table we reserved we were told that it would be faster if they sat us at the sushi counter, or we could continue to wait for a table. We obviously took the counter but that's a pretty bad consolation considering we had reserved a table and by 9PM they were seating couples at 4 tops. Additionally, they have a really lovely dessert menu with wine and after dinner drink pairings, and the wine we ordered with dessert didn't even come out. As a knit pick, they list coffee on this drink menu as well and when I ordered offered me an Americano, small thing, but that should be noted. Lastly, it shares a bathroom with whatever gaudy monstrosity is next door and that's just poor layout design for a restaurant of this size. Long lines. Overall, really standout food and table service. Front of House was a real letdown and the overall vibe screams "we have a Chicago location and this is too big to fail." Lots of things on the menu I'd try, but not sure I'd return.

Allie D.

It is lovely inside, decorated well and you can tell they pay close attention to training. We had a smorgasbord of food, it all was presented well and tasted good. I'd get this burger again, no doubt!

Friday evening reservation for ! Food -5/5 - we had the spicy tuna roll, ramen, two skewer options (chicken and lamb), chicken fried rice and the hamachi app. Everything came out as it was ready and nothing was disappointing. Service-5/5- so many folks checked on us and made sure we were okay. They ran the food out as soon as it was ready Ambiance-4/5- Aesthetically pleasing but really loud. The music needed to be turned down about three notches. There were a lot of different vibes going on across tables as well, including one that kept screaming without follow up.

Came to try this new location, and it exceeded my expectations. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and every dish we ordered was made with high-quality ingredients and prepared beautifully. I always forget to write down everything I eat, but we tried a little bit of everything, and my absolute favorite was the salmon belly, it was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. The cocktails were excellent, and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that made the experience even better. The restaurant has a luxurious, intimate atmosphere that feels private, making it a perfect spot for a date night or a special occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I'll definitely be coming back.

We're new to the area and have been exploring local restaurants to find favorites worth revisiting…read more We celebrated my birthday with Sunday brunch at Noko, noting the occasion on our OpenTable reservation. The food and service were excellent. The Noko All-Star breakfast offered a satisfying mix of classic favorites, while the burnt-ends rice bowl was outstanding. The Brussels had perfectly charred edges and a flavorful sesame dressing, and the brisket French dip featured tender, delicious brisket. Our server also surprised me with a Dole Whip for my birthday--a creamy, refreshing treat and the perfect finishing touch. What truly set Noko apart happened a couple of days later, when someone from the restaurant called to thank me for dining with them and ask whether I had enjoyed my birthday celebration. I've dined at countless restaurants, but I've never experienced such thoughtful personal follow-up. That gesture speaks volumes about Noko's hospitality and moved it straight to the top of our list of Nashville favorites. Noko, thank you for making my birthday feel special--even days later!

We started with a few cocktails and all of them were really good. For appetizers, we got the burrata with peach jam and grilled peaches, which was recommended by Farron. The burrata was super creamy, and the peach jam added a nice hint of sweetness. The hamachi crudo was also good. The spicy tuna crispy rice was one of the better ones I've had. The rice was crispy on the outside and soft inside without being mushy. For our mains, we decided to get the burnt end bowl but couldn't decide on another dish. Farron suggested the beef brisket sandwich, and I'm glad he did. The brisket was succulent and fatty, served on soft, fluffy bread that soaked up all the au jus. The au jus reminded me of a beefier pho broth. The burnt ends were sweet and salty but paired really well with the rice, fresh carrots and pickles. The Dole Whip soft serve was also excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they also gave us a scoop of ube ice cream. It was super creamy and rich. I wasn't planning on ordering it, so I'm glad I got to try it because it was really good. Everything was really good, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

The restaurant is on the smaller side with a mix of table seating and counter seats overlooking the kitchen. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation because it filled up quickly. Even though the restaurant was packed, the noise level was perfect--we could still have a conversation without shouting. The bar service for drinks was a little slow, but the staff kept us updated throughout and were incredibly friendly. Everyone was hustling--they handled check-ins, took orders, ran food, and kept everything moving despite how busy they were. The food completely exceeded my expectations. The ahi toast and seared yellowtail were absolute must-orders. Both had incredible flavor, and the fish practically melted in your mouth. The cucumber salad was fresh, flavorful, and a great appetizer while we waited for our drinks. The dumplings took quite a while to come out (they actually arrived after our hot pot), and while they were tasty, they weren't nearly as memorable as everything else we ordered. The shabu shabu was outstanding. We chose the miso broth with the NY strip, and the portion was huge! There was more than enough food for the three of us to happily share, and everything was fresh and delicious. Our cocktails were excellent and well worth the wait. Overall, Kosho delivered a fantastic dining experience with amazing food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

If you have any questions, they're happy to answer! You get to watch the chefs make each one right in front of you. The servers and the rest of the crew are absolutely amazing!!! Attentive without being smothering. Honestly, some of the best dining service in Nashville. Every single bite is thoughtfully prepared and put together perfectly! That…read moreis not what I expected walking into a counter with fourteen seats and a chef standing three feet in front of me. We came for my partner's birthday, which felt like a gamble for a place this small and this structured. It was the right call. The space is low lit and built out of dark wood and a playlist underneath that leans R&B and hip hop. It sounds like a contradiction and it absolutely works. Personally, I was reliving my 90s childhood and loving it. Everyone faces forward, so there is no table of strangers across from you and no lull you have to fill. You are next to people rather than opposite them. The experience is fourteen courses in ninety minutes, $75. My favorite of the lineup was the zuke maguro, the leanest cut of tuna they served, sourced from Spain. Clean and lean where so much of omakase leans rich, and the marinade does the work without covering up the fish. The salmon caviar was the other standout, those little bursts of salt and brine. Then the A5 wagyu. Its marbling is a different category of eating. Rich and fatty, which was a nice break from the line up of fish. Around course 9, they come around and ask if you want to revisit anything or order additional add on items off their menu. This is an extreme value. You get your money's worth and then some, especially measured against what a tasting menu this long costs anywhere else in town. Practical notes: Reservations release on OpenTable at midnight, six weeks out, every single night. Three seatings at 5:30, 7:00 and 8:30, and they start promptly, so arrive a little early. They cannot accommodate vegetarians or fish allergies. Parking is a small shared lot with some street parking nearby. The four seat cocktail bar next door is walk up only and is, fittingly, the smallest bar in Tennessee. Let me be honest about this one. Four seats is a harder room than fourteen. If you are the type to feel exposed standing in a space that small, skip the pre-dinner drink and go straight to the counter. One more thing worth knowing. Kase donates one percent of net profits to the Nashville Children's Alliance, which provides services at no cost to children in Davidson County who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse. Restaurants run on thin margins as it is. A place this small choosing to give a cut of that away says something about how they operate, and it is a cause worth supporting (beyond the fantastic meal you also get).

The three different onigiri were all delicious and different but our favorite was the yaki since the grilled rice added such a depth of flavor with the cod roe. The seasoning they serve on the side is great too. My chirashi bowl even though it was "mini" ate like a full meal. They really put a good amount of rice and salmon. Very well seasoned and everything tasted fresh. The curry rice was a very large portion and the curry tasted homemade. OutSTANDING Japanese izakaya. WOW! YUM!…read more The place is quaint and classy, and the staff are incredibly poised yet friendly. Here is what we tried: -Hiramasa crudo: 10/10 - Amazing bite, and blew me out of the park. There was no fishy aftertaste, and yet the fish was fresh and flavorful. Paired with the cherry tomatoes and whatever magical sauce, it was a rich and subtle bite of heaven. -Tuna toast: 6.5/10 - To be honest, not my favorite. It wasn't bad, by any means, and the tuna had a lovely flavor and texture to it. It was clearly good quality. However, I felt as though I wasn't tasting enough of the wagyu fat aioli, or even the seaweed bread. -Squid ink pasta: 9/10 - I would describe this as a spicy sausage bolognese with squid. Divine, frankly. The noodles were thick and chewy and the depth of flavor to the sauce was perfection. -Wagyu Burger: 9/10 - I am not normally a burger girl but this one was STELLAR. It was OH SO moist and the cheese, the caramelized onions, the sauce, the sesame seeds... UGH. Yummmmm. My date said this was better than most burgers at burger week. -Hojicha Tiramisu: 9/10 - Jeez louise I am also not normally a tiramisu girl but the chocolate and cream and cake on this one paired so beautifully together. And add the miso soft serve and you honestly have a sin. -Miso Soft Serve: 7/10 - So, I was really excited about this. The soft serve itself was pretty good, though I wanted more savoriness to it, almost. More miso punch. The thing that threw me off the most was the peanut caramel.
