Ordered gyoza, spicy kani salad, spicy tonkotsu, and kids chicken ramen. The spicy tonkotsu was the only real negative. Had a weird raw garlic after taste. The chicken ramen is a show stopper! Go here and get chicken ramen. Really that good. I might go back and try the regular tonkotsu too. Service was ok. I would stop having staff (owner?) sit at the front as you walk in. I don't think sushi should be their thing either. Just my two cents...

We came here after coming back from Hawaii two days ago. We were pleasantly surprised…read more The BBQ short ribs were tender and juicy. The flavor was salty and sweet. The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

We came in on a Sunday around 2 PM, and there were only one or two other tables in the restaurant. The menu is expansive, it was difficult to decide what to get! I settled on Ramen, and my friend had some pork buns, and a sushi roll. The Ramen was decently good, nothing I would seek out again. My friend liked the pork buns, but said the roll was just all right. The atmosphere here is larger inside than I expected, with nicer decor than I expected in a strip mall like this. Upfront there appears to be an ordering table where you can pick up to go items, order a drink, etc. This place was fine for grabbing a bite to eat, nothing I would seek out again personally.

Next time, I want to try more things, because there were so many options! There were very few things I wasn't a fan off, but it's up to preference. I cleared almost everything on all of my plates. I cant wait to go again!! You know it's good food when you're in the middle of eating it, and are you are already planning the next time you're coming back. I missed it before I even finished eating it. They have the options of hotpot, buffet, and ramen! You can do more than one too! 100/10! Exceeded my expectations! Ambiance/environment was okay. The chairs on our booth were very wobbly and would move every time we moved, which wasn't great, but the food made up for it. We really enjoyed the yellowtail jalapeño app. The yuzu sauce was so delicious and paired so well with the fish. We ordered the bluefin paradise sampler and the waitress was so informative. She described each of the various options and let us know which one was which when the order was ready. Our specialty rolls were also really good. Everything was refreshing and didn't feel overly filling as most sushi spots can be in America. I think they did the sushi in a very tasteful way without overloading and going crazy on all the rolls. Give this place a try for a high quality sit down sushi spot! In my opinion, it's not a takeout only option, but worth the trip :)

They simply stared and casually commented, "Oh man, haha. It must've dug a hole." I'm sorry, but seeing a mouse inside a restaurant is already alarming enough. Watching the staff respond so casually, without any sense of urgency or concern, made the experience that much worse. We had ordered a sushi roll, two entrees, and multiple drinks, and by that point, I was completely disgusted and no longer comfortable eating there. It's unfortunate because we genuinely thought the food was good, but food quality means very little when you're left questioning the cleanliness of the establishment. The staff's response was especially disappointing and did nothing to reassure us. This experience completely changed our impression of Takumi, and I would have a hard time returning under current management.

Their special the day we went was interesting so that's what I got. The special that night (forgot what it's called) but it was with glass noodles and brisket of sorts. What pleasantly surprised me was some of the ingredient choices as they felt familiar with my mother's cooking. The glass noodles were a little difficult to separate into one bite without making a mess. My fiancee got a vege ramen of sorts which she liked. The service was a little slow but to be fair, they were quite busy when we went. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience for us. I'll have to come back and try their Tonkotsu ramen as that is a staple for any ramen joint.

They said the restaurant was very crowded and we wouldnt be able to finish a meal in a hour. Instead, we opted for takeout. Even after being told takeout was a faster option we still waited 45 min for our food. They do have some good deals for lunch specials and an extensive regular menu. Additionally, they now serve ramen. I got a Bento box for lunch and it was delicious as well as being a fairly generous portion. The box had shrimp and vegetable tempura, 4 pieces of California roll, 2 dumplings, white or fried rice, and salad or miso soup. I was only able to finish half for lunch. I also tried their scallion pancakes, and they were top notch. Candidly, I did not see past the entryway, but the restaurant seemed clean and cozy. The staff was friendly, but did seem a bit overwhelmed with the lunch rush. Would I go back? Absolutely, but only if I wasn't in any kind of hurry or time crunch. If you're looking for takeout, I recommend calling ahead then going to pick it up. Ambiance: 3/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Value: 4/5
