If I could leave zero stars I would. I've also reported them to OSHA and the AZ dept. Of health. The ultrasound technician was rude and had no personality. The staff are unorganized lazy and rude. We walked in to an empty waiting room with Journey Whitesnake and REO Speedwagon blaring over the speakers. Sat unattended for almost 10 minutes until an employee walked in the front door and asked if we'd been helped. After the ultrasound we were placed in a room and were told it would be 10 to 20 minutes for the provider to come speak to us. We waited almost an hour without a single person coming to check on us or provide an update. When I tried to find someone all I could find was the phlebotomist who was more concerned with her phone than helping me. The exam rooms are filthy. Black sticky spots all over the tile. Paint peeling from walls. Trash on the floors. If they cared as much about professionalism and patient care as they do about getting that insurance information it would be a great place. My wife and I would give birth in the back of a van before letting them near us. Run don't walk far away from Mom Doc. The best way I can describe it is think like you're at the DMV only instead of renewing your tags they're delivering your child. read more

Hi Momdoc, here is some constructive suggestions: 1. It's cool that you don't have to stand in line to check in when you walk into the office. BUT the nurses shouldn't be sitting on the most comfortable couch in the room. They should get up and let the pregnant lady have the couch (and not make her sit on the chair). 2. When a nurse says she will call you back with your test results, she should in fact call you back. When you call back 1 week later and leave a message, she should return the message. 3. The triage nurses need more empathy. If I call in at 8:30am and say my chest is hurting, I have asthma and I would like to come in today, they should say "honey, you need to go to emergency if it's that bad." NOT "Sorry we don't have any appts for today at your location. Anything else?" 4. It shouldn't take over 5 min for the operator to answer the phone. If you are that busy, hire a second person. read more

My wife saw Dr. Guzman in the hospital at CRMC and had a clinic follow up today. He has, without a doubt, one of the best bed side manners we have ever seen. As medical professionals ourselves, we highly value a provider who not only gives you the time you deserve, but treats you with respect. He is phenomenal! Why did I opt to switch practices halfway through a chaotic third trimester? And double the travel time for my twice-a-week appointments? Because I freaking love Tiffany Jackson. I met her halfway through my first pregnancy when she joined her previous practice. She ended up delivering my son, and the experience was nothing short of perfect. So when I found out she accepted a new position with MomDoc Midwives, it was a no-brainer decision to follow her there to continue my care. I'll be honest. I was pretty nervous about moving to a new place this late in the game. All the paperwork, new location, new people, etc. But so far, my experience has been nothing short of stellar. As soon as I found out Tiffany was moving, I called to schedule an appointment. They were able to get me in soon enough to pick up right where I'd left off at the previous practice (pleasant surprise, sometimes doctors offices have a wait period for brand new patients). Tiffany was not yet on the schedule on the day I needed to come in, so I saw another midwife, Monica Reno. She is a doll! It was obvious that she'd spent time reviewing my records, because she came in and was familiar with my health history and knew exactly what the "game plan" was for this pregnancy. I had a few health questions and concerns that I brought up and she addressed them thoroughly and compassionately. The appointment didn't feel rushed at all, which earned huge bonus points with me. I should also mention Ramona Joseph. I saw her for pre-natal care during my first pregnancy (before she moved to MomDoc). I absolutely adore Ramona. She is genuinely kind and very easy to talk to. Her reassurance and encouragement was a huge help to me during my first pregnancy. I remember my very first appointment with her... I walked in completely terrified and nervous... and left feeling totally confident and excited. (Thank you, Ramona!) Also worth mentioning is the GORGEOUS office. You walk in and the waiting area looks like a comfortable living room. In fact, so comfortable, that I'm a little bummed the wait times aren't longer. The exam rooms are adorable, too. They are happy and cheerful, they don't feel all "medically" AT ALL. I got to do my NST monitoring while sitting in a plush leather rocker, which was a million times more comfortable than trying to relax on an exam table... oh my gosh, it's totally the little things. So far I think Dr. Guzman is great! Don't see Dr. Russell though, she will just call you in for useless appointments over and over so she can collect more $$ and then refer you to someone else! My problem is with the staff who are supposed to be scheduling surgeries! I waited 5-7 business days as instructed but received no response (this is the second surgery I've had issues with). I have made multiple phone calls (at least 5) to the surgical department trying to get my surgery scheduled. I also complained twice to the front desk. I have waited 13 business days now but haven't heard a word. They've sent me to offices all over Phoenix even though I live in Maricopa. I am in pain and need this surgery ASAP! Don't expect the office to care, they don't! This is one of the worst offices I've ever dealt with! read more

Do not trust this clinic with the health of you or your baby. I was just notified last week that Dr. Guzman never received my medical records and is unaware of all my history, labs, genetic testing, and conditions. The office manager told me they were unsuccessful in obtaining my records in March, and no one mentioned it. So after 2 weeks of having UTI symptoms with the pain now traveling to my back, the staff is telling me it's normal. They didn't input their own test results for me, and they are unaware of my kidney history because they don't have my records and never communicated that they couldn't get them. I'm 22 weeks and have met with this office multiple times without knowing that they know nothing about me or my child. Find a new doctor . read more

I switched over to MomDoc because Tiffany Jackson is the bomb! I'm 32 weeks along and nearly went into pre-term labor when I found out she was leaving the practice I had been seeing her at. :) But thankfully MomDoc accepts my insurance. Even though the drive is further than the office I had been seen at, it was an easy choice to switch. The office was able to schedule my appointment with no problem, so my care was uninterrupted. The office is beautiful! The exam rooms are comfortable and the staff is so nice! I have nothing but good things to say about the previous practice I had been seen at. DO NOT GO HERE. I've paid so much money for tests i never got results on. I've been overcharged on multiple occasions. They change you providers whenever they feel like it. And sometimes, they like to cancel your appointments for no reason whatsoever. They do cervical checks with long acrylic nails on (what the actual hell), and if you have abnormal vitals at 30 weeks pregnant (bp 170/93) they don't care to recheck it or send you to anyone for further evaluation. On top of this, because of the high bp problems that went completely over all my doctors heads, i got very sick and had to rush to a hospital to be induced early. I'd love for momdoc to call me about my baby's gender (the test cost 500 dollars), but they never did. Now my son is 4 months old. I cant forget the HOUR AND A HALF LONG WAIT TIMES when i would come in WITH AN APPT. They also don't tell you what you're paying for when they ask you for money! If you see this review, do yourself a favor, and find a new obgyn. read more

I have been going to MomDoc Midwives for our first pregnancy and I could not be more pleased. For starters, I've never waited longer than 5 minutes to be seen and that seems to be a huge issue at other OB's. Secondly, they're so not invasive. They don't bombard me with unnecessary tests, checks, etc. They stay very in line with our holistic plan and I feel so taken care of by each of the Midwives, Ramona and Tiffany are our favorites. We will 100% be going here again when we grow our family again and so thankful we came across this practice! read more

This is my first pregnancy, and the MomDoc Midwives have been amazing throughout the whole thing. The midwives are caring, knowledgeable, and thorough. They treat new moms with the utmost respect. They've answered all my many questions without making me feel silly for asking, which is a must when you have so many changes going on in your body and a new little life that you're protective of! I love that they're a group practice with an intimate feel. You get the best of both worlds this way. You have the convenience and the perks that come along with being in a group practice, but they're small enough to where you can get to know each midwife individually and have a personal connection with whomever might deliver your baby. I haven't delivered yet, but I'm confident that it will only reaffirm my five-star rating! I feel like I am not only receiving excellent care, but that I have an advocate by my side when the time comes to deliver. I would highly recommend MomDoc Midwives to anyone who is newly pregnant or trying to conceive! Other good things to note: -They have a triage line with a nurse that you speak to immediately (no leaving messages and waiting to call back...which can be the worst when you think something's wrong!). I'm not sure if someone answers immediately if you call after-hours, but they do have a 24/7 line. -They can often get you in for same-day appointments. -They have on-site labs and ultrasound (I can't imagine having to run all over town for these!) -I haven't experienced a wait-time in the waiting room of more than 10 minutes. -They have a group care model called BUMP where you have the opportunity to interact with other expectant moms and couples due the same month as you. read more

Situated in a beautiful building, you walk into the door and are greeted with a living room type of seating. There's no check in spot - which is bizarre. Instead, the check in gal is sitting on a couch, checking you in. It's a bit uncomfortable sharing information when other patients are around in that close of proximity. They take you to a room fairly quickly but you do end up waiting around 20 min to be seen. The rooms are very pretty but they are FREEZING. Lucky that I didn't have to strip down for an exam. I'd be pissed. I came in for a positive pregnancy test, just for them to tell me their test was negative but not very sensitive. That's annoying. They should have a more sensitive test. The thing is, I used a super cheap test strip that wasn't vey sensitive... so how bad are their tests then? So then I get a blood test - but wait. Their phlebotomist is it on lunch so can you come back in an hr? Poorly ran imo. My husband and I called back in a couple of days to get results to see if the blood test confirmed a pregnancy and the woman refused to say yes or no when we asked several times. She mentioned an hcg number but wtf does that mean? Are we pregnant or not?! Rude! Turns out I am. I return for a second exam, they draw blood, yada yada. Provider was fine. I've had a total of 3 appointments here. I receive a bill for every single pregnancy test and visit. My insurance covers all visits and when I called MomDoc, they said they accept my insurance. I'm pissed. Now I'm having to dispute $400 from them because they lied about accepting my insurance. This place sucks. read more

In ~20 years of going to an OB/GYN for routine care, I've never been to a place that was so blatantly money hungry as MomDoc. Their low rating should be all you need to know, but I'll share some good details... For starters, during a regular well women exam you be sure to keep your mouth quite because if you want to talk about ANYTHING at all, anything, that is not part of what they consider the routine well exam, they will bill you and your insurance company a pricey "Office Visit" fee IN ADDITION to the well women exam. For example, if you want to just discuss birth control options - OFFICE VISIT FEE. If you want to simply get information on any kind of specialists -- OFFICE VISIT FEE. Are you kidding me? I'm here for an annual exam with the doctor and I can't even TALK about anything? Literally ladies, open your legs and shut your mouth otherwise you'll be taken for a financial ride. Additionally, they require by their made-up "policies" that you come in for an office visit to go over ROUTINE and negative test results. I could understand if there was some important or concerning, sure call me in for an office visit. This has happened to me twice, I had routine blood-work done (just to get a baseline panel) and I had a kidney scan done but both came back completely normal however they required me to come in for additional office visits just to tell me all was good and fine. Not only is this a complete waste of my time but they do this so they can bill insurance (and ultimately the patient) additional dollars. Every time I have received extra expensive balances owed from these "office visits." It's totally bogus. I called and tried to rectify the balance with the billing dept on 11/27/19 and spoke with Maritza. She wasn't super friendly but said she'd look into my "office visit" fee balance and call me back by that Friday....and here we are 2 months later no return call, and I get a bill in the mail for TWO bogus office visit fees. Thanks for being so patient-centric MomDoc. It's quite clear what you care about. I'll end by noting that their lobby is 100% not HIPAA compliant. I work in the medical field and if you know anything about HIPAA you'd know that you cannot divulge any sensitive patient information in-front of others. Their lobby has no desk so they greet you with tablets and just openly discuss your private health information in front of anyone else sitting in the lobby. I've heard them talk to women about ultrasounds, personal information, etc. I literally do not know how they get away with this. Their whole practice is ridiculous and I'm so over them. I'll definitely be finding a new provider who cares more about their patients, overall experience, and HIPAA compliance than MomDoc who cares mostly about their profit. read more

We loved our experience at MomDoc's. When you walk in it feels so nice and friendly. They have their staff meet you in a living room style waiting room to check you in. The person that checks you in also takes you back and does the initial checks and gets you situated in your room. They were all so professional and really take the time to listen to your concerns and most important to me and my wife they are not closed minded. We want to have people that are willing to listen and consider other options before jumping to conclusions and this practice did exactly that. On Wednesday the 9th, I went into momdoc for my 3rd ultrasound visit and blood work including the NIPT test. When I asked the provider when I would have the results she told us 7 days. I thought cool! Let's have a gender reveal two Saturdays from now! The following Monday I received a call that I needed to go in for an additional glucose test. I went in on Wednesday morning thinking cool, I'll just get my results then! I asked one of the admins who sit out in the lobby if they could help me find the information, although she was polite at first, she couldn't find my testing at all. It took her 2.5 hours to still not have an answer. The next thing I know I am in an exam room with someone who I was told was a manager. She basically told me that I was an idiot for counting on them to do their jobs, and follow through with a 7 day timeline that I was promised, and people are upset all the time because when the come in for their 20 week ultrasound, they may not get a gender identified either. I reminded her that this wasn't an ultrasound, but a blood test, and blood tests can recognize this. After informing her that I was completely dissatisfied, and that I had already spent $500 nonrefundable for my party, that I should have had the results for per the provider, she promised me she would call the labs first thing in the morning, and then call us. At 12:30pm Today, which is the following day, I still hadn't received a call, so I called the office. The girl I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and that I really should wait 2 weeks before expecting anything. Now I am out $500, no return phone call from the manager, and no answers! If you really cared about your patients, you would (bare minimum) follow through. We are talking about pregnant, hormonal, women that you are hurting! Second visit, left violated and infected. Review for MomDoc Women for Women Mercy Gilbert, which shares offices with Midwives. 09/27/18 I had a 19:10 appt for an ultrasound and endometrial biopsy at the new MomDoc Women for Women Mercy Gilbert location on Pecos Road, next to MomDoc Midwives. I had an internal ultrasound done that lasted a while due to difficulty of seeing my left ovary for my PCOS. After, I was shown to a room (pictures attached) for my endometrial biopsy. 1: i made my worries known as I was not properly informed about the procedure and process. Jenny Engleby was the PA and Ruby Martinez was the nurse. Jenny said it would be quick and feel like a really bad menstrual clamp. I asked about topical anaesthetics and was told it was not necessary. 2: I lie down for the procedure and when they try to initially open my cervix, I felt pain. Jenny could not get it open to get the samples of my 0.5cm out of a normal 1.5cm uterine lining. She made me cough then clamped and opened my cervix. The pain I felt from the first pipette sucking my lining brought on severe cramps. 3: After the second I sobbed and said no more. I did not want to do it anymore. I begged to stop. Jenny said only one more and I felt my uterine lining sucked away. The pain brought on active labor contractions. I was shaking and felt so violated. The pain was severe. I had told Jenny I injured my lower back the night before yet she still proceeded. My back got hurt even more and the doctor never came in once. 4: They left me alone then came to check after 20min. I was in pain and asked for meds. They gave none. I asked about recovery, Jenny just said it all depends. Then joked I get a taste of labor now. I was crying and felt so bad. 5. Day after I was in agony. I notified Momdocs but could not get through at my work. I was on hold for 30min+ on the nurse line. Finally I called the office staff and they just said go to urgent care. I did so on Sunday after getting a fever. I went to urgent care and was given a shot in my butt with Toradol, and prescribed antibiotics, naproxen and hydrocodone. My back was a concern and I showed signs of infection. The NP and nurse were both shocked to hear I had no anaesthetic and I begged for them to stop. My aunt, a PT, said she was offered anaesthesia for the same procedure. I felt so violated and I took Friday off work to go to my chiropractor for a massage and acupuncture. Sunday I went to urgent care and spent over $100 for meds and my copay. I feel as if this Mormon MomDoc network used religion to do this naturally. I asked for them to stop and they continued. I feel violated. I missed work today too (third day), which is almost $500 worth of my income. I am upset. I feel violated. I spoke of my mental health. I was sexually abused. Now I am in pain. I complained to my insurance, Healthnet. Jenny tried calling me today and I told her to speak to my insurance company. They should NOT be allowed to practice this without a doctor. Others have had bad experiences as my urgent care nurse said do not go there again. *No direct response from a manager whom I requested to file a complaint with 4 days ago. That "1 hour to call back" sure is long. Let's not forget, the PA had no issue making me sign a legal form while I was in pain, hunched over, sobbing and sweating. She "forgot to make me sign before" and I asked if it will give me pain meds. I received no after care follow ups or instructions, except to treat it "like a period cramp." I like the NP that I have, Laura Larson, but the staff is very unprofessional and unorganized. I have received bills for tests done that I otherwise should not have received because the office failed to send over my insurance information to Senora Quest. When I contacted Mom Doc, it goes to their corporate office and not to a local person. When I asked for a direct number, they said they don't give that out, but they would email the office that I was seen at. Also, prior to seeing Laura, I had labs sent to Mom Doc and was Informed during my appt with them that it takes weeks to get labs because they are sent to the "main office" and uploaded and not sent directly to the provider you are seeing at Mom Doc. It appears Mom Doc is very "hands off", not thorough and unorganized. I will likely be looking for another personable OBGYN. I recently left an OBGYN of 11 years who was your typical mom and pop place. The doctor had one nurse and the same staff for years. A real small place that felt like home. Had I not moved, I would still be there today. After receiving such warm and thorough care, this is a big shock. Mom Doc operates like a corporate business and not like a medical office caring for PATIENTS. I think they often forget that they work for US. They are employed by US. It's disappointing that they have failed on many levels and do not offer hands on care for their patients. Look at the reviews. The responses from the staff are "we are heartbroken (Blah Blah Blah) and will forward your concerns to the supervisor." That's easy to do. Forward problems. How about you follow-through? Have meetings to ensure these issues from patients aren't happening over and over. Follow-up to be sure new procedures are actually being followed and expectations met. That's the real work. Forwarding the concerns doesn't ensure things change. Take some accountability for responding and speak with whomever is in charge and figure out a way to know that when you "forward something" it is actually being fixed and won't happen again. My girlfriend had an appointment for an iud and they canceled on her while she was in the building and then on her way home they called her and told her to come back so she went back then while she was getting the iud they were telling her that they couldn't do it so she had to reschedule at the Tempe location and then they also canceled her appointment the day of 30 mins before so she had to drive all the way to Scottsdale the next day to have it put in by a random doctor she didn't know. Very disappointed on how they run. And she was referred to Romona Joseph specifically and after the first appointment never saw her again. I have been going to MomDoc Midwives for almost 5 years now. The midwives plus Dr Guzman helped to safely deliver my twins girls vaginally a few years ago. I believe things went so smoothly because they were willing to allow us to try to deliver vaginally and we couldn't have asked for a better labor and delivery experience. I am now pregnant again and have been extremely happy yet again going to see the midwives. They always take their time to listen to me and allow me to ask my millions of questions without rushing me. I have always been treated with respect by all staff members. I usually have to bring my 3 year old twins with me to my appointments and the staff are always kind and patient with them too - it's nice the office is set up to be kid friendly as well. My only bad experience has been with a triage person being short and not fully listening to my concerns when I called the regular MomDoc number - but other than that - all good things to say! read more

TLDR - They do not provide kind or compassionate care. They might hide risks from you. They advocate for unnecessary procedures. They get defensive and fight with you after the birth. I gave birth in February. I finally decided that I needed to post about my experience in hopes that it helps someone else avoid the terrible care I received. Policy wise - The biggest policy I dislike is that they refuse to see you within 24 hours of giving birth. Two of my Facebook friends confirmed this after the fact - one used midwives and the other the ob-gyns so it is a consistent policy across MomDoc. If you have a cesarean and want post-op healthcare and advice you won't get it for a while. Robyn did see me 30 hours later but then she snapped at me. She did not give me any useful aftercare information. The nurses kept asking if my provider had seen me during the first day. Other medical practices will apparently help you afterwards, I suggest that you go to them instead of MomDoc. Two of the three midwives at the hospital were awful. If Melissa is still working, do not go to this place. During my induction, the nurses would not give me any medicine to induce after a certain point because my son was struggling on the monitor. His heartbeat would drop below 110 and slowly come up. I asked Melissa how my labor was progressing. She told me not to worry that I was having a normal labor for someone who had an old placenta. What does that mean? She left while I was confused. How does normal labor progress in this situation? I knew that old placenta was weird "casual" language for placenta insufficiency or that my placenta was not giving enough nutrients. What I did not know was what that meant for my birth. My husband followed her a few times to try to get answered. He caught her playing games on her phone in the hallway. That was back when we still wanted to talk to her. Later, Melissa advocated for different procedures - one of which was stripping the membranes. I knew the research was mix and also that it was uncomfortable. I asked Melissa if it would help with my son's situation. She said no. I asked "why would we do then?" She gave some reasons that sounded knowledgeable. I said in relief "It does help then". She said No. I was thoroughly confused. I only did it because my nurse said she had seen it help make labor go quickly. Melissa did it. It was one of the worst moments of my labor (I did experience harder contractions later). I remembering screaming and arching my back to try to get away from her. Melissa performed an unnecessary and painful procedure on me that she not even think was helpful. I remembering feel so powerless and confused. She was honest when I asked, but still was advising me to do what she considered unnecessary procedures. After that, I did not want her around me because I could not trust her. I was relieved when we decided to do the c-section. I had been worried about my son's health for hours. I remember feeling comfortable (but way out of it) during prep because they played music I liked. When I was still open and right before they got my baby to touch my face, I heard Melissa say "This is thickest meconium that I've have ever seen." This made me extremely uncomfortable while I was waiting to feel my son. I still don't understand why she felt like she need to comment about my body while still sewing me up or at all for that matter? This review is getting long. When Robyn finally showed up 30 hours after my c-section, I asked her what went wrong. I thought it was placenta insufficiency but Melissa was saying that and she had shown she was not to be trusted. Robyn snapped at me that I had an OLD PLACENTA. She woke up my husband. She then told me that a second to last ultrasound had shown this was probably happening. Again what? Why was I told risk factors about my labor after the fact? When I had that ultrasound, Ramona had made me feel comfortable because we had passed the non-stress test beautifully. read more

most of the receptionists that are there seem like they have attitude all the time especially the one who's pregnant now i feel like i'm not welcome or they are bothered by your presence they should hire women who are more happy with the job they have. i feel uncomfortable every time i am there i feel like they really just sit there and judge you the office itself is honestly very very pretty and luxurious but the women there have got to be replaced. read more

Dr Guzman is amazing! I have not had the pleasure to birth with them yet. My prior OB has retired and she highly recommended MomDoc. I recently miscarried and have received the warmest treatment from the staff at MomDoc (particularly the Val Vista/Pecos location) and specifically Dr Guzman. The office is clean and super cute. My kiddos love their decorated rooms! Ive never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room and maybe 10 minutes (at most) in a patient room. Not a typical doctor's office in that sense. Last note, the only unfortunate aspect is their association to Goodman and Partridge. Goodman and Partridge's reviews are terrible; completely unlike MomDoc. read more

Ladies, hormones are nothing to mess around with. My poor husband (and kiddos.) For 15+ years, doctors have been telling me I'm fine. A woman knows when something isn't right. I was at a competitive valley office where a doctor told me my symptoms were just "some people's lot in life." Seriously? I had had enough and a so a friend recommended Dr Guzman. PA I see is great, MA (Chrystal) AWFUL. told me she didn't have time to update my chart for my current medications (should have been noted at last visit) because I should have been roomed by 1230. I was in the lobby then while she say there talking (non work related) to another girl for 5 minutes. Then proceeded to sit in the exam room waiting for another 15 minutes. She was very rude and dismissive. Cassandra however is amazing !! read more

I followed Tiffany here from her previous office and am glad I did. The office is very comfortable and homey and the office staff inside the office are very kind and warm. Tiffany is very LGBT friendly, too. I took one star off because the scheduling department has some room for improvement in terms of scheduling and phone courtesy. read more

Updating to remove a star. I had too many occasions requiring me to chase answers and call backs, including a birth control prescription that never ended up happening after a few months. The pharmacy also called and faxed them a few times. Unfortunately, most of the midwife groups seem to have similar hit or miss experiences, but so far so good elsewhere. read more

Dr Guzman talked to me prior to my exam and made me feel so comfortable and was very knowledgable about any concerns I had. I would highly recommend this office and doctor to anyone. read more

I'm sure coming from traditional obstetrics, MomDoc is a breath of fresh air, but as a homebirth transfer, I've really not been impressed. Maybe it's just been the midwife. I had to transfer at 39 weeks for less than ideal blood work, and my first appointment went very well. A great midwife named Brinea, who unfortunately operates out of SanTan which is way too far away for me, ordered some more routine blood work to try to figure out why my body hasn't been responding to treatment. She wrote an order for a test done by Theranos at Walgreens, which is super cheap and sends patients the results via email within 48 hours if they choose. But at my follow-up appointment to discuss the results, with a new midwife at the Gilbert location, the midwife didn't even mention them, even though 2 out of 4 of the tests came back really abnormal (luckily my former home birth midwife gave me instructions on how to proceed). At the same appointment, I said that I'm trying to make my pregnancy go as long as possible so I can correct my blood work before going into labor (so I can give birth at home). Given the fact I'm trying hard to be pregnant as long as possible, I thought it a good time to start thinking about induction techniques offered, if my blood work doesn't improve and I run out of time to fix it. The midwife said she doesn't talk about it until you're already past-due. The only induction technique I'm comfortable with is a membrane sweep, so if they don't offer it and they won't let me discuss it with them before my appointment, I may end up going to an appointment for no reason. As the midwife was walking out, she casually mentioned that the assistant was going to schedule me for an ultrasound during the follow-up appointment the next week. No explanation for why or another word about it. Knowing that ultrasounds to assess fetal size in late pregnancy are poor and the only thing they really do is result in a higher chance of having a c-section, and not wanting to talk to the condescending nurse again, I just called back later and cancelled the ultrasound with the scheduling office assistant. Also, since my due date is so close and the whole reason I was referred to them in the first place is for anemia, I asked to be given the results of the blood test I took that day over the phone, or to go pick them up whenever they came in, so that I could know going into labor if I was anemic or not. They said they don't give results over the phone or if you just walk in to pick them up. This isn't even consistent, since the first blood test they ordered through Theranos, the results were sent to me right away. Also, it's a huge pain in the butt because it means I have to call and sign a medical records release and wait around for my results when I'm already in labor. I'm not intelligent enough to be able to be told over the phone whether or not my hemoglobin is still too low? Overall, I've felt they've been everything I find wrong with current obstetrics and childbirth practices. At this point in pregnancy, they offer nothing that I can't monitor on my own - blood pressure, fetal heart rate, blood tests, etc. - so I just canceled all future appointments with them and will only use them if something goes wrong and I still have to go to a hospital. They're packaged like a more natural alternative, but I haven't found them to be any different. I just hope that my blood work gets corrected before my baby is born so I don't have to deal with giving birth with them. read more

This place came highly recommended but I've been sorely disappointed. They treat you like a number- bounce around to different midwives would wouldn't be an issue meeting everyone except they don't seem to read your chart or pick up where you left off. You better hope you don't have any pregnancy complications or 1- they will charge the crap out of you because it is out of their "ordinary care" 2- good luck getting decent care with these complications while you bounce between midwives. Ramona and Tiffany were good but don't make up for the crappy experience I had throughout my whole pregnancy. I could fill this review with issue after issue I had with this place (and more than one mom doc location) but I don't have that much free time. Bottom line- Unless you're 100% certain you can have a natural, uncomplicated pregnancy go find a real OB practice. Oh and billing is a bit of a mess too. Still trying to get them to set some things straight with my insurance company that they messed up on their end... and I delivered 3 months ago. Good luck. Update: THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED THE BILL ISSUE ON THEIR END AND THEREFORE MY BILL CANNOT BE PAID TO LAB CORP AND IS SITTING IN COLLECTIONS. STILL. They seem to be able to respond better on Yelp than when you or your insurance company try to call and get them to do their job to fix their mistake. read more

This is one of those cooperate doctors offices which means that you are unfortunately treated like an investment or payment instead of a person. When you call you are calling a call center. I've asked to speak to a provider and kept getting nurse Ashley who seemed to be on a power trip and kept repeating the rules to me and backing it up with what the office manager said about the rules, and followed that up with another nurse who spoke with Ashley and also regurgitate the rules to me. All because I missed 1 appointment.....I keep hearing well the rules say you have to make EVERY APPOINTMENT. I live 45 minutes away from the office and have showed up for an appointment in the past and the office was closed, but I miss 1 appointment where they check the baby's heart rate, weigh me, and check my blood pressure and all I keep hearing is how I must come in for a 5 minute appointment. I considered changing providers in my 3rd trimester with my first child because 1. I had a midwife tell me my medication was a class C drug without checking (it was not) 2. I showed up at a scheduled time with lab work to the office being closed and 3. I was told I was GBS negative and that was NOT TRUE. They rattle off rules and facts without checking and it's just annoying and rude. read more
