This was my third visit to this office. Needless I was less than satisfied with the service I got. I called on a Monday the day before I had an appointment to request that an item be ordered for me in a bigger size as I felt that the current one was too small. Tuesday morning I received a call that the Dr. would not be in the office because she was on call at the hospital, so we changed the appointment to Thursday morning. As I arrive at the office and am getting ready to get out of my car, I receive a text stating that the Dr. was ill and would not be in that day. I went in and told them I was not happy with them and then got an appointment for the following Monday. This appointment was very disappointing as I found out that my message was not forwarded to the Dr. or the Office Manager so what I was asking for was not there. So nothing was accomplished again at this appointment. I felt very dissatisfied with the whole situation. I was told that they would order the next sizes for me and would contact me when they came in. I had asked if the item was inserted correctly or if it was to far back in my body and was told that it was fine and this would be addressed at the next visit has been 3 weeks. As of this writing I have still not heard anything from this office, i will never go back and I would advise others to think very hard before using this facility. I went to another Dr. and was told that the issue that I was having was not what I had been told it was at MOM DOC and that this to is very disappointing as I had put my faith into this Dr. and now, I was truly upset and aggravated with this facility. read more

I really hate to leave a Bad review but I did not feel welcomed at all the ultra sound tech was telling me about what my insurance will cover and I don't think it was the time or place or her job. After seeing the physician and her saying we would do a blood test to figure out the gender of my baby the medical assistant comes in and proceeds to tell me that the phlebotomist is going to lunch basically excusing me and telling me I can go to another location. I was amused with the care at this facility and I won't be back. read more

Zero Stars .Do Not Go to Mom Doc!!! I saw Dr. Tammi Williams at Mom Doc and the Dr. and Billing department decided to charge me twice for to two office visits (same day) for my normal annual pap. I tried to discuss this with the Office manager and they insisted on double dipping the insurance co. and charging me for two office visits same day for a normal annual papsmear...which is illegal ! It should have been covered by health insurance as your annual exams are free. It's a law. This is fraud! Shameful practice. Terrible billing department. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but my experience was not great at MomDoc Midwives. I will start by saying Dr Guzman was great and this review is for really everything else that happened. I have had 3 appointments with them and something didn't go smoothly each time. It all started with walking into the office. There is no welcome or check in desk, so the nurses are usually sitting on the couches. Might just be me, but it didn't seem professional for a doctors office. The wait was usually longer than i had experienced with other similar doctors. At one appt I had to wait 2 hours because the midwife didn't come in that day (which they didn't tell me until after an hour of waiting). Once you are seen, it really depends on who you are seeing for your level of care. The blood work lady was amazing, very friendly and seemed to care about your health. Others seemed to just get the basics done. At my appt with Rebecca, I asked a few questions and advice from her to which her response was I don't really have any recommendations. These were not crazy questions, so it was frustrating to hear that from a medical provider. She also met with me for maybe 5 minutes total. The final straw for me was when they did the wrong blood test. I was clear at my first appt which test I wanted and after two appts they told me it was a different one that I was given. Again, not a great experience and made me weary of continued care with them. With some basic changes, it could be a great office but wasn't right for me at this time. read more

Poor communications. Service and care is at the bottom. They are just rushing to get you out of that place. Front girls are Not very polite and friendly. Prescribed me unnecessary medication that my body doesn't want. I told her I don't like this unisom but Angela kept sending me same medication to the pharmacy which I can't use it. Why go to mom doc, they tell you to google your symptoms anyways. I've been going to mom doc for 3 years unfortunately. The amount of miscommunication is actually ridiculous to me. Everytime I go in for an annual visit it's like they don't know anything about me and have to re do everything over and over because no one's documenting my health. The last couple times I went they told me I have pre diabetes and when I asked how does this happen? How to manage it they told me google it. read more

I love Dr. Guzman he is amazing! But the girls in the front and in his office are rude and do not perform their job. It is in my chart that me and my daughter both only want to be seen by Dr. Guzman himself I make my appointments with him I get to his office only to be told it's with someone else! I travel quite a ways to see him only for this to happen! The communication between his office staff is horrible! He tells us 1 thing and the girls tell us something different. As much as I hate to we will be looking for somewhere else to go. No way would I want my daughter to deliver through here if he is to be her doctor yet it's a battle just to see him! I followed my midwife from iWomen's and never looked back. The environment is calming and comfortable and each room is decorated in a different theme. Does not have the cold, sterile, impersonal feel of most offices. Park on the top of the parking garage for easy access on that floor to the office. Check in is done on the couches in the room you walk into. Easy breezy! Everyone is friendly, professional and helpful and Tiffany always makes me feel at ease. Midwifery really is a world of difference from an OB. The only minor complaint here is that my recent appointment for an annual exam and IUD removal was a bit disorganized on the front end. I had to reschedule twice (once due to me, once on their end) and both times told them I wanted an annual AND Mirena removal. They forgot to put it in the notes on both occasions and had to call the day before to ask why I was coming in. It all worked out in the end! My husband and I are open to "trying" for our second child this year (wow, that sounds romantic! ;-) ) and I look forward to more prenatal care with Tiffany but at this lovely office. Best of luck with your women's care or your baby-to-be! EDIT Dec. 2016: I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins and have had phenomenal prenatal care thus far. The last office allowed my midwife to conduct ultrasounds in our exam room, which I miss. Here, you must schedule both ultrasounds and follow ups with a provider. Luckily, the ultrasound tech is there often and is very sweet. I hate being poked and prodded(which is especially frequent with multiples) but she makes me feel comfortable. Update to continue the below review... am not exaggerating when I say that this is the most appalling and unprofessional medical experience I have EVER had. They truly ruined several weeks of my first trimester with my first baby because of the stress this all brought. I will NEVER get that back. I will be spreading the word to all my friends and family and all the mom groups I am part of to NEVER EVER even consider using this practice. I now have to start over with a new practice and doctor and having them re do everything because I have no trust for the information that Momdoc gave me. How could I? It is not worth the risk. Besides this experience with the bloodwork I have nothing positive to say about my care before all of it. I had no idea who anyone was. No one knew how I was. None of the staff or midwives ever actually asked me how I was feeling. Not even at 1 of my visits. Everything was so rushed- during my last appointment I had to ask for the midwife to come back in so I could ask her more questions because she rushed out. Everyone talks about Dr. Guzman? Who is this Dr and why do I have a feeling that I would never meet this person or have any interaction with him what so ever. There is a 90% chance that if you have a low risk pregnancy you will have met the person who delivers you baby maybe 1 or 2 times and they will def not remember you. read more

Stay away from this place!! They do whatever they can to get money from you and insurance!! I went here once to see if I would like a midwife. They will file false statements to insurance claiming you said things that are not true! 1. The midwife I saw was ehh alright. Not nice or friendly. She seemed like she hated her job. But that I don't care about. Just my first initial impression, not great. 2. This is what gets me. I saw them ONCE where they just talked about family medical history and she answered questions I had. I left. Later I receive a bill from in the mail. I called insurance and asked why I'm being billed this much because my office visits are covered. Insurance stated that momdoc coded my visit as a "high risk pregnancy" which is not covered under my insurance plan. I said "I don't have a high risk one though, it's been healthy this entire time. I've been seeing another OB my whole pregnancy and they have the records to prove this" overall my insurance company and I have been on the phone with momdoc 4XS!!! Each time momdoc said "oh yeah we'll fix that". It never got fixed. Now today 01/26 I called insurance again to contact momdoc because it wasn't fixed. Now momdoc is saying "they refuse to change how it's coded to insurance because I stated in my office visit that I use marijuana and have something else wrong with me that's considered high risk." 1. Please tell me how you came to these conclusions when I only saw you once and there was ZERO tests performed. I'm healthy, my partners healthy, our family is healthy! 2. I NEVER stated I use marijuana or any drugs for that matter. My OB I saw at the same time did a full drug and std panel testing with blood and urine on me and everything came back negative nothing in my system! I told momdoc and insurance I'm happy to send those results over. Momdoc is filing false allegations to get more money and it's truly disgusting. Not what I expected from midwives. I spoke with Dina in billing and Miranda the supervisor at momdoc is the one who coded this and refuses to change it. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! read more

I love this place and everyone who works here. I've been going here since about midway through my first pregnancy in mid 2019. I'm pregnant again and have chosen this location to be my primary care during this second pregnancy. I see a few different providers here but they are all wonderful. Karen Evancic delivered my first child and it would be awesome if she's available for the second as well, but I have confidence that whoever is available that day will be just as caring and supportive. The waiting time is reasonable, usually short. The exam rooms are comfortable and feel like home. The facility is clean. Appointments are super easy to schedule and availability ranges for a variety of schedules. read more

Avoid this office! I went in for a new patient visit, and was not told that the office visit costs $430. Had I known this, I would have discussed paying cash for the appointment and avoided them placing a claim through my insurance as my deductible is extremely high. When I called to speak with Billing, they told me a cash office visit costs $175. I asked if she could make any adjustments to my bill, she said no that she could not. I am now going to appeal these charges through my Insurance company. I also had to schedule an appointment for four weeks out to meet with the physician and my appointment was cancelled 4 days prior to the visit, because the Physician was out of the office, they wanted me to wait another 4 weeks. I was so frustrated, I ended up going to another Dr. I am so glad I did, I feel that I am now getting better quality of care and the medical office is better at discussing charges with me up front. read more

I chose this location bc I heard Dr Guzman was great. And he is....if you get to see him. He spends time with you, answers all your questions, and really seems like he is an advocate for pregnant women. Everything else about the office is horrible. When you first walk in the office they barely look up from their iPads to get your name and checked in. You will get billed ridiculous amounts of money for things that you were never told. Ie. One of my Monday appointments fell on Martin Luther King Day. I was charged an additional $125 bc it was a holiday on top of the office visit fee. If I had known that, I would have just scheduled another day. If you are getting an ultrasound, you are charged a separate office visit fee for the ultrasound on top of your office visit fee for seeing the midwife on the same day. Also beware, they won't ask you if you want a 4D ultrasound. They just do it and charge you extra for it. I was told my baby may have IUGR and that her head was in the 8% tile. Because of this I had to come in weekly for ultrasounds to check on her growth. This means paying for ultrasounds weekly because it's not covered by insurance. Turns out I received an unnecessary ultrasound. Once I was billed for it, I called them and just got "oops" you're right, we will take that off your bill. So not only was I exposed to an extra ultrasound I was charged for it too. Side note: when she was born, her head was in the 80% tile. They were so far off on their measurements and caused a lot of unnecessary stress for a first time mom. The day my baby was born, I did have tears. Stitches were needed by my midwife. She ended up doing it incorrectly and caused issues for me. If I want to get it fixed, I will need re-constructive surgery. The office pretty much told me tough luck, it's only cosmetic and they won't do anything for me. Please beware, I highly rec. looking elsewhere! Update: in the message below from momdoc, they said they would have a supervisor call me to talk further. They never called. On top of that, I had to go in for an additional appt bc the stitches were not healing correctly (their negligence) and I just got a bill for $400 for the office visit! read more

Easiest possible way to make an appointment-via text and for the next morning! They asked tons of questions, I felt like they cared. The pap portion was quick and painless, and I felt comfortable (if you can ever be comfortable in that position). I would agree that the lab process seems a bit off-next time; I will ask for a slip and go to quest. The only confusion comes in because there is no "reception" and no sign. made me pay $200 just to tell me nothing is wrong with me after zero tests. just a quick conversation. 2 stars because they were nice but something is wrong with my period and they brushed it off and said it's my cycle changing with age and to take tylenol. i'm 20 years old. my period should not be disabling me every month. especially not after it's been fine my entire life of having it. i wouldn't recommend this place if you want answers. they just want your money even if you have insurance. $200 for 10 minutes of their time. not worth it. and i'm still stuck with terrible cramps and periods every month. read more

Find an office that cares about you and your baby!Once we became pregnant again after multiple miscarriages I came in to the office excited and scared. I had been going to this office for years and did have once full term pregnancy. The staff acts so sweet and nice, as if they actually care about you individually. We went in at 8 weeks with a strong heart beat. I was very concerned because I was not on thyroid medication at the time and the only difference with me have a successful pregnancy back in 2015 and the 2 losses was my thyroid. So I expressed my concern and asked for a complete thyroid panel along with the rest they normally run in the beginning of pregnancy. She assured me as soon as they came back she would met me know results. Between 8-12 week appointment I also had the genetic testing completed. I called to check my labs before my appointment and was told not to worry for there was any concern we would have contacted you to come in. Well here comes my 12 week appointment. As we are there waiting to hear our babies heartbeat on the Doppler for the first time I ask the midwife our results for the genetic testing we had completed. She says oh I forgot I'll be back. Comes back and says congratulations everything is normal! Your having a healthy baby boy. We were relived. Now comes time to hear heartbeat...there was none. We lost our healthy boy. Devastated and hopeless I ask why what could have happened, there was no answer just a look of sad. Months later as I have been trying to help myself figure out what is happening to me and why we couldn't keep a baby. I order a copy of all my blood work to review with my natural-path. Low and behold the very first thing that shows up on that initial thyroid panel was highlighted in all red showing a low T3!!!!! What are you kidding, all I would have needed was to be put in a thyroid pill to have kept my baby. And this is something I told them at the initial appointment. Which they should have already know since I had been coming to them for years! I called to try and get answers and see what normal protocol is when test results come back and they just gave me the run around. It is very obvious that if you need any sort of medical assistance during pregnancy this is NOT the place to go. Please save your self the pain. read more

Background: We left mom doc after week 32... We felt like we were left with very little choice.... Why the review: We keep receiving astronomical bills... Our baby boy was met with a surprise from his old provider mom doc... a $700 bill (no explanation sent to our insurance) .... For comparison sake, our new provider charged us $10 for the same service an ultrasound... why such an difference ? The good : Dr Guzman was nice the limited times we got to see him. They did have a very personable and supportive midwife Karen... she unfortunately left. Leaving behind one midwife who we liked for the most part and one extremely rude midwife who seemed to hate her job. Zach was very kind on the phone today. The bad: Seemed like mom doc was pushing for ways to make more money...: Our experience can be summed up with an office who seemed hell bent on running any test which would have the highest profit return, while negligently spacing off important tests such as glucose (supposed to be done between week 20-24... mom doc dropped the ball and didn't administer till I believe after week 28... My wife never received the initial bloodwork which was supposed to be completed in the initial visit ... Unfortunately Friday is for the staff to dip our early. (We both took off work for an appointment which revealed how very little this office cares about others time) A revolving door of staff: This led to miscommunication around important tests, Canceled appointments and zero talk about what our birth plan was... how we wanted this joyous process to go... Misinformation Regarding the effects of Covid: We were told, by our midwife,to expect a blood bath and that the placenta would be extremely aged...We asked for evidence so that we could learn more... unfortunately our concerns were brushed off with no explanation... Our new provider, a doctor, scoffed at the notion... We were, also told that , because my wife had Covid, we would require biweekly ultrasounds... Again, based off of what research?... When pressed with concerns of exposing our child to unnecessary tests, our concerns were completely brushed off.... Luckily our new provider debunked that claim as well. Misinformation Regarding the placenta: We were told that our placenta was too low and that we would need a c section if we were not passed 3 cm by the next appointment... After researching we found that 90% of women have a low placenta at the point in our pregnancy. Rude and disrespectful staff (overshadowed the good staff): Health and wellness are of the upmost importance to our family... When my wife's glucose test was scheduled, the technician threw a fit because we brought in our own natural juice for our glucose test (which we were told exactly what to bring.) We were never greeted with a smile. We were just another number. Our wishes for our birth were largely pushed aside. The office visit response was a crap shoot. Some times we had good care. Most of the time we sat alone in an office wondering if we are forgotten about. Taking over a month to provide health records to our new doctor following our week 32 switch I could go on but won't... Random, inconsistent bills: The final straw was the multiple ultrasounds and the excessive charging to our insurance without an explanation of why (based off of research) and a line by line item. One week our ultra sound bill would be for example $100 - $200 and the next $700- $800. Ultimately we decided that we had enough. The hospital nurse told us that, as of late, mom doc has grown to have a reputation for this type of behavior... please do better. Having a child is supposed to be a joyous, positive experience... Thankfully ours was from week 32 on... Our first appointment ,with our new provider ,discussed fluid levels in the placenta, and went over much more detail in 1 visit compared with our entire 32 weeks with mom doc. Oh and they didn't once make us feel like this wasn't our birth.. I can't say the about mom doc. I want to give mom doc the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure Covid has created staff challenges and as a result a dip in service... We left a message with Zach and a text message asking for an explanation. Still waiting to hear back. read more

Courtney was not empathetic and said I needed to be sedated, having never been in this much pain, let alone been left bleeding, in 16 years seeing a woman's doctor. Courtney M did not do a good job and immediately blamed me, and I showed up early, everything felt disorganized and took forever, left in a room waiting in nothing for half an hour, I have never had this bad of an experience ever in my life getting routine checkup done, one I have never need sedation for. read more

If you're reading this review, it probably means you'll be welcoming a new addition to the family in several months, so congratulations! MomDoc excels at supporting pregnant woman with the constant reminder that pregnancy and birth is natural, and your body was made to do it - even when you don't feel quite like yourself. My perspective is the (formerly) clueless father, who acquiesced when my wife opted for a midwife. To me, a "midwifery" sounded like something from the ancient world, but I soon found their combined expertise to be anything but old-fashioned. Several reasons why my wife and I could not have asked for a better partner-during-birth to bring our baby girl into the world: -We got to know our midwife. Even with a planned birth date, you can't always assume your OB is going to be there on delivery day. We felt comfortable as we met with each midwife during our office visits, knowing that at least one of them would be available on our special day. Not knowing which of them would be on-call was a fun surprise instead of an added stressor. -Professional, discreet, and courteous. Each midwife and technician we worked with was very friendly and always kept our wishes in mind. My wife felt very comfortable going to visits and I never felt like a 3rd wheel during appointments. We chose to keep the sex of our baby a secret, and MomDoc ensured that not even the midwives knew so that they could share in the surprise too. The only aspect that disappointed was Bump Group - the class that provides education on pregnancy, postpartum, and infant care. It appeared poorly managed, and often seemed like an afterthought. My suggestion is for couples to seek out a Bradley class (like we did), or another type of birthing class where you'll get more dedicated attention. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our experience with MomDoc and look forward to using them for future children! P.S. I brought my two little ones with me and was treated like absolute garbage. The girls played paper rock scissors a few feet away from me to see who had to "help" me. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. They are not children friendly and are hardly women for women! I wish I could give them no stars! Imagine this, you're past your due date to have your baby. You go in for your appointment at 9:50. You wait patiently but don't even get seen till almost 11. When the provider finally walks in, you are greeted by the wrong name. You are told that you'll be scheduled to get induced by someone else. But this provider says no. Then when the provider leaves another person walks in to schedule you & she says "we will call you before 5 to schedule to be induced ." Imagine how confused you'd be at this point with all these mixed up answers. You leave the office confused but patiently wait for a phone call as you were told. You never receive a call, so you call the office only to be told they can't get in contact with a supervisor & they will try to get in contact with you later on... hopefully. I wouldn't be as mad if this was only the first time I had scheduling issues with this location but it's the second. Along with scheduling issues there is time management issues. I'm so disappointed & irritated. I do not recommend this location. Nobody should be put through this much stress especially dealing with the health of a stressed out soon to be mom & unborn baby. read more

MomDoc Midwives is FANTASTIC! The phone scheduler was kind, quick, and helpful. The building they are located in has plenty of covered parking and is gorgeous! The front office is like a living room and the staff is super friendly and quick. The exam rooms are all decorated like beautiful nurseries and are comfy. Janice Boveé is the most warm and loving midwife you could ever ask for. She takes her time, answers all of your questions, and takes those extra steps to ensure your comfort throughout your exams. I highly recommend Janice. I've been with her for 7 years now and she is the best!! One critique for the building is that there needs to be larger better signage on the outside letting patients know MDM is in this building. I never even saw a sign for MomDoc Midwives. It wasn't until I wandered to the elevators and saw them on the map located there that I knew I was in the right place. Not knocking any stars off for that though. For anyone looking for the office, it is in the Rome building on Rome and Pecos. The big tall 5 story glass building. They are on the top floor. :) read more

I should have written this review and left this practice long ago. Positives: some of the midwives seem like genuinely nice people who care about their mamas and babies. Easy to get an appointment, even save day. Negatives: where do I start... 1. My midwife did not come to my birth. None of the midwives I had met (which was all of them, or so I was told every time I asked) came. The midwife there was someone training for work with them. I had never heard of her or met her before. She assured me the midwife on call (who I had met many times and was one of my favorites) would come soon. She never did. The midwife I never met caught the baby. 2. Midwife I had never met made it very clear before a procedure that she had never used that piece of equipment before. Then proceeded to ask the nurse to help her, nurse said she wasn't allowed. Midwife then attempted to insert this equipment 6+ times over a period of 30+ minutes, while I was in pain, all the while talking about how she had never done this before. I was petrified and didn't know what to do. 3. Piece of placenta was left in my uterus. I understand this can happen in any birth but I really question how/why it happened after my experience in labor. 4. Of Course, we didn't know the placenta was left in there. When I started feeling sick a week post partum, I called their nurses line and was told I had diastasis recti. Luckily, I knew something more was up. I insisted on an appointment the next day, was given an ultrasound, and found a uterus full of blood and tissue. Had a D&C a few days later. 5. Never once asked about mental health during post partum appointments. I thought this was standard. 6. Had to drive 30 minutes away for post op office visit after the D&C, waited over an hour for the OB, for her to spend less than three minutes with me in the office and tell me I am fine. So after all of this, I still had to do one more appointment with MomDoc. I had a skin issue that was possibly breastfeeding related. I was prescribed an antibiotic. Went to pick it up and the PA had never called it in. Ok, maybe I was too early since I went straight to the pharmacy after my appointment. Called back the next day and it still wasn't in. Called MomDoc back and they said the PA mistakenly didn't send it. Then they call back and say she prescribed the antibiotic I'm allergic too, and that they would get me a new one and call me back. Never received a call. Pharmacy never received another prescription. I gave up and found a competent doctor and will never be going back to momdoc midwives again. Wish I had taken the negative reviews seriously before going to this practice. read more

Mom doc has been nothing but trouble and a headache for me. I started to go to them in the beginning of my pregnancy, and a few appts in I received a cancellation 10 min before my appt saying my midwife called in sick, shortly to find out at my next appt she had a trip planned and the front desk didn't plan accordingly. That happened one another of them canceling right before I would be leaving for my appt, which is annoying when your husband and self take off work to go to the appt together. Switched over to women for women for a few visit and they did a lot better. Started to go back to midwives cause I loved my midwife. And arrived 10 min early to my appt in the heat to find out the door is locked on lunch break while they are all inside and wouldn't let me sit in the lobby. So there is a pregnant lady sweating her butt off outside standing and no one would tell me what's going on. They opened the doors later than when my appt was suppose to start, walked in to the hole place smelling like onions which doesn't do well with me. Another time I'm going to my three hour glucose which no one calls to tell me I need to come back, finally get ahold of the office after leaving two voice mails. The lady on the phone told me I can go whatever morning just don't arrive past 8:30am so I looked to see what time they open 7am got there at 7:15, to the doors locked again, and workers are inside and still won't let me sit in the lobby. So now I am standing outside again with no seats waiting for them to open the doors. Will never go back to momdoc midewives or recommended it to anyone. read more

This place was horrible! I originally switched to them from my original midwifes due to distance. This place was so bad I ended up going back to my original dr office even thought it was way further. On top of it all they keep charging me a late fee for a late that I refuse to pay since I had such horrible service here! Based on there are so many others with issues and their billing, this appears to be the normal for them. Not interested in hearing their BS copy and paste response they give everyone on here. I rarely write reviews, but I am so passionate about women staying SO FAR AWAY from MomDocs. One, the ladies that work here are so incredibly rude. I haven't had a single encounter with a lady that has made me feel comfortable and safe. One of the midwives, Rebecca, scoffed and laughed at my husband, as if he was a child. The doctor, Alexandra, did not really offer me much information or guidance. In fact, apparently I had a hemorrhage bleed that I was UNAWARE OF. A month and a half later I found out about it. Alexandra's response was "oh they didn't tell you.. oops." She was my doctor so I didn't know it was anyone else's job to tell me such crucial information. They are so lucky that I didn't take further actions about such slip up. Not to mention how horrible the customer service and billing department is. I have never had so much stress in my life and stress is not a good thing when you are pregnant... DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!! At least to this location. I switched a half way through my pregnancy to a New OB and practice that I am obsessed with. Do not make the same mistake I did. I came here for Dr Guzman, and I didn't even get to see him once in my time here. read more

Stay away from Momdoc midwives once you have your baby the care they give you once postpartum is awful. I saw them 4 different times because I had developed mastitis from breastfeeding. Every time I came in the made me feel like I was overreacting and brushed me off saying everything was normal and to just keep massaging my breast even though it was only getting worse each visit. I finally decide this wasn't right and went to the hospital due to the redness,swelling and pain I was in. Come to find out I have mastitis mixed with cellulitis and had to have emergency surgery on my right breast to remove the abscess that had formed. The drs at the hospital couldn't believe they let me go 2 months with this and just told me to massage it. Had I never went who knows what would've happened. Very disappointed in the care I received from here. read more

The midwives there are great and I gave birth with no problems. But am disappointed in billing. I was lied to about the "midwife delivery fee". It was estimated at $480. Which turned into $5,500 (before insurance) I called and tried to get this fixed. I was lied to just so i would use there services and then charge craxy amounts. I have decent insurance and after everything my bill is almost $3,500. That is not including hospital bill! That is routine OB care & the crazy delivery fee. If i would have known they charged that much i wouldnt have used the midwife or gone to this doctor office. They also continue to charge late fees on the bill but insist they dont charge and to discard the late fees. Yet they cant take off the bill. Im so livid with this office & will not recommend. This is long (I unfortunately used this office for 7 years), the short version is this: They will tell you bs to get money and they will send you a bill for something 5 years after the service. Went to this office for years....I started when I was young and naive... When I was 18 I had my period for over a month straight, they did an ultrasound and just said my "lining was too thick"...I was in constant pain all the time, but it was just my thick lining. When I was 23, I had a bartholin cyst and severe pain constantly, so they finally agreed (yes, that would be 5 years later) to look into my pain and do a diagnostic laparoscopic procedure. They found a band around my uterus and attached a tube to my intestines but never followed up with me about why. (8 years later, I am going in for the same surgery again, hopefully this time my NEW doctor will do his job and give me answers) When I was 25 I decided to get an IUD and although I have no children, they decided the Paragard was the right way to go. They then placed it incorrectly and caused me to literally pass out in pain. Then, when I didn't stop bleeding for over a week they said I was fine. I visited the Chandler office and they removed it immediately under ultrasound and were dumbfounded at my experience. Luckily, that office then put in my Mirena and all was well for the 5 years I had it. I gave these people 7 years to treat me. Beyond that, me and my insurance company gave them tens of thousands of dollars for misdiagnosis', incorrect placements, incorrect prescriptions, ect. But to just put the icing on the cake, they had the AUDACITY to send me a bill for copays I "owe" them from 2014 on. Are you KIDDING ME. Maybe TAKE THE DAMN COPAYS AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. I am so in love with this practice! I'm a healthcare provider myself so I wanted someone who would respect my wishes for a natural, unmedicated, low to no intervention birth. I NEVER wait, I'm always taken back quickly, the MAs have been super sweet and I've enjoyed my visits. Due in August so I have no idea who will be my birth provider but so far Robin and Dr Guzman are absolutely my favorites. Robins demeanor is so sweet and nurturing. Dr Guzman has very much supported my fitness and lifestyle as a athlete, being the breath of fresh air from normal Ob conversations I have had. Also the US tech is VERY fast, efficient and makes me comfortable due to limited time/exposure for my little one to the US. I cannot wait to deliver my first daughter with this team. read more

Dr Guzman is beyond amazing but rest of staff needs to be replaced. Saw midwife (Melissa) first time and she couldn't find a heartbeat and then told me to come back at my earliest convenience. Very little compassion or understanding of how devastating that was at almost 13 weeks. The lady who I saw before the midwife asked me a ton of questions and put my due date upon my last menstrual period despite the fact that I had IVF with the sperm donor and 100% sure of due date. Dr Guzman had to change my due date before I transferred my records to new OB because of this mistake. Clearly nobody in their office listen to a word I said or that I came from the amazing doctor in the fertility clinic next-door to them. I came back next day and had ultrasound, Melissa then told me I needed STD testing because I didn't have it done with last doc and required by law even though I was positive it had been done at least one if not more times at RE's office. The lady that took my blood left a huge bruise on my arm, so she was clearly not very good at drawing blood, and coming from the VA system and having my blood drawn on a pretty regular basis I have some experience and knowing what is good and what is bad when getting your blood drawn. Btw I did have the testing done; she just didn't see in records sent from RE office not did she even look to see before I told her that I had records transferred. Not once did I get recommendations or information from their team. Noting about avoiding caffeine or different meds, etc. good thing my RE is amazing and I had most information I needed to start my pregnancy with but both visits were rushed and their face in their iPads most of the time. Nothing in regards to me losing almost 30 lbs due to morning sickness - is this even healthy? I still don't know and won't until I have my appointment with new OB. BTW their faxes take 2-3 weeks to go through, get to the right department and be handles - say what!?!?! I was getting an NIPT test done and I was upset from first meeting with midwife I just decided to pay for it. Well stuff happens and the first sample wasn't any good for whatever reason so I had to get new sample drawn. For the 2nd time, I had more time to get everything sorted out so I spoke to my insurance and they cover but need preauthorization first. I gathered all the information for them and called MomDoc multiple times, spoke to numerous people and everyone was clueless. But I did find out they didn't put in my insurance and listed me as cash pay - what did they do with the scans of my ID and insurance card - I don't know. Finally spoke with Brittney (office manager) and let me tell you she is lazy of the laziest. Refused to do the preauthorization told me only the third party lab could do that even though they don't have copy of my records. She said they'd give them what they needed which is a HIPPA violation as I hadn't signed a release to give them my medical records. I gave up because their rep for the company finally said they'd waive the fee if my insurance wouldn't pay for it. I went into their office on Monday at 4pm and my vials should have been mailed off that night or next day. I'm not sure what they did but the blood was lost and wasn't mailed out until Thursday. The lab didn't receive them until Friday evening. I saw Dr Guzman the following Tuesday to let him know I was leaving MomDoc and going to different OB. Brittney's manager was sent a message to call me but it's been 2 weeks and I've received nothing. I'm now getting bills in the mail from lab core for stuff my insurance would have covered and I've literally spent hours on the phone to find out information and do stuff myself since their office is incompetent. They are in the happiest business in the medical industry and their staff just makes it stressful and unpleasant. The last thing a pregnant woman needs is more stress especially from their OB. read more

Hi Momdoc, here is some constructive suggestions: 1. It's cool that you don't have to stand in line to check in when you walk into the office. BUT the nurses shouldn't be sitting on the most comfortable couch in the room. They should get up and let the pregnant lady have the couch (and not make her sit on the chair). 2. When a nurse says she will call you back with your test results, she should in fact call you back. When you call back 1 week later and leave a message, she should return the message. 3. The triage nurses need more empathy. If I call in at 8:30am and say my chest is hurting, I have asthma and I would like to come in today, they should say "honey, you need to go to emergency if it's that bad." NOT "Sorry we don't have any appts for today at your location. Anything else?" 4. It shouldn't take over 5 min for the operator to answer the phone. If you are that busy, hire a second person. read more

I'm disappointed Dr. Guzman most likely won't deliver my baby at banner gateway but I feel like all of their providers have been super helpful during my first pregnancy. read more

Why did I opt to switch practices halfway through a chaotic third trimester? And double the travel time for my twice-a-week appointments? Because I freaking love Tiffany Jackson. I met her halfway through my first pregnancy when she joined her previous practice. She ended up delivering my son, and the experience was nothing short of perfect. So when I found out she accepted a new position with MomDoc Midwives, it was a no-brainer decision to follow her there to continue my care. I'll be honest. I was pretty nervous about moving to a new place this late in the game. All the paperwork, new location, new people, etc. But so far, my experience has been nothing short of stellar. As soon as I found out Tiffany was moving, I called to schedule an appointment. They were able to get me in soon enough to pick up right where I'd left off at the previous practice (pleasant surprise, sometimes doctors offices have a wait period for brand new patients). Tiffany was not yet on the schedule on the day I needed to come in, so I saw another midwife, Monica Reno. She is a doll! It was obvious that she'd spent time reviewing my records, because she came in and was familiar with my health history and knew exactly what the "game plan" was for this pregnancy. I had a few health questions and concerns that I brought up and she addressed them thoroughly and compassionately. The appointment didn't feel rushed at all, which earned huge bonus points with me. I should also mention Ramona Joseph. I saw her for pre-natal care during my first pregnancy (before she moved to MomDoc). I absolutely adore Ramona. She is genuinely kind and very easy to talk to. Her reassurance and encouragement was a huge help to me during my first pregnancy. I remember my very first appointment with her... I walked in completely terrified and nervous... and left feeling totally confident and excited. (Thank you, Ramona!) Also worth mentioning is the GORGEOUS office. You walk in and the waiting area looks like a comfortable living room. In fact, so comfortable, that I'm a little bummed the wait times aren't longer. The exam rooms are adorable, too. They are happy and cheerful, they don't feel all "medically" AT ALL. I got to do my NST monitoring while sitting in a plush leather rocker, which was a million times more comfortable than trying to relax on an exam table... oh my gosh, it's totally the little things.
