I definitely recommend this office for a women's wellness exam! I felt comfortable in this environment as a young, Christian woman whose first time it was at a gynecologist. Upon entering, I was intimidated by how busy it was. I checked in and handed over my license and health insurance while I filled out paperwork. They ask a lot of questions, but very important questions. They do ask on the paperwork about your religious preference (which doesn't bother me at all since I am a Christian) but just so you are aware, you can specify whether you're religiously affiliated or not. They brought me to the back rather promptly, despite all the other patients they were taking back. I was wondering how they had so much room for everyone they were admitting and if they had enough staff to get to everyone, HA! I guess this is why they're the professionals. However, it gave me comfort to see how busy they were. Dr. Marielle McDonald was the dr who saw me. She came in and we went over my paperwork, talking about everything I had written down. She eased my worries and nerves, telling me that she would walk me through everything! She truly seemed very well informed, and like she cared about me and how anxious I was for this appt. She left for a little to let me change and then came back! When she returned, she brought another worker with her who may (?) have been in training. She was a bit younger, closer to my age. Dr. McDonald's didn't ask if this was ok with me, but I wasn't bothered by it, and assumed it was standard practice to have multiple employees in the room while the check-up is occurring. They were both incredibly respectful and professional!! I highly recommend this obgyn, as they are a very professional business whose morals align very closely with mine. I read some reviews about them acting pastor-y, reciting Bible verses in lieu of administering medications, etc, but NONE of that occurred. If anything, I was the one to bring up anything faith-based. They don't administer Birth Control or do any sterilizations, so keep this in mind if that was what you were in search of. I was referred to Dr. Kreller for endometriosis and some other health problems that I have been dealing with. My husband and I have been TTC for a few years and wanted to see what we can do to help us. I love that they are faith based practice. My first impression meeting Dr. Kreller was that she is extremely knowledgeable in what she does. I went I her office and told her 8 years worth of struggles with PCOS, etc. She not only heard me out but she actually walked through what the next steps would be. She was so nice and made sure to answer every question I had. She was very informative and very aware of all I'm dealing with. She quickly scheduled different tests & said she wants to try a few things. I am so thankful to God for being referred to Morning Star OBGYN. Been here for my 3rd appointment now and while I genuinely love the staff and the bedside manner each doctor has, every single time I am not seen until 15-20 min after my appointment time to be taken back. Then it's a minimum of 10-15 min sitting In the room to be seen by the doctor. It's extremely frustrating especially when you have somewhere to be afterwards. I completely understand maybe 5-10 min of waiting but 20 min to be sent back and then an additional 10+ min to actually be seen by the doctor is 30 min of my time wasted! This is not my first rodeo and with it being my second pregnancy I understand that some days they might run behind, but after 3 times this is honestly disappointing. I hope they can work on scheduling because everything else has been a great experience so far.. read more

I had great prenatal care at Morning Star OB/GYN. My family picked Morning Star because it is a faith based practice. I didn't want to be pressured into doing anything I didn't want to do. I got see each doctor a few times for my prenatal visits. I like them all for different reasons. I was very happy to see that it was Dr. Leonard that was on call the night I went into labor. My first impression of Dr. Leonard was that he was a very experienced OBGYN that has probably seen it all. Dr. Leonard and the nurses at Mercy Gilbert took great care of me during delivery. Dr. Leonard even checked on me twice before it was time to start pushing. As a first time mom, I was under the impression I wouldn't see the doctor until the baby was practically out. So I was pleasantly surprised to see him checking in on me. Dr. Leonard was super calm and collected during delivery. I knew my baby and myself were in good hands. I will be back at Morning Star if we have any more children. read more

I came in as a new patient here last week. I arrived 20 minutes early for paper work and didn't get called back until 25 after my appointment was scheduled. I asked the MA if it was always like this and she said yes.. let me add it was only 10 am. How could they be this far behind so early? anyways, got called back into the room, the MA asks me how far along I am? I said excuse me? She said how many weeks pregnant are you? I said I'm not pregnant.. I'd hope you know that by the chart you're looking at.. she got quiet. She walked out and then came back in and asked me what my name was?! My jaw dropped. I walked out after that, after waiting 2 months for this appointment.. I was pissed. Do not go here. I should have read the reviews on this place. So take my advice and just avoid this office all together. read more

Stay away from this OVERBOOKED Dr. for the health and safety of you and your baby. Any issues needing an unscheduled appt will be addressed in 1-1.5 months (even bleeding that will eventually become a miscarriage will not deem an immediate or ASAP appt necessary). I will start off by being forever grateful to Dr. Kreller for delivering my first baby. Dr. Kreller is amazing but you can't pick which dr will be on call for your delivery. This is a detailed graphic cautionary tale to warn other pregnant women to stay away from this practice. Dr. Leonard is a robot with no bedside manner. If you are pregnant and can see into the future to know that you'll have no issues or complications that need proper and timely care, by all means go here. I'm healthy average weight but had complications that Dr. Leonard failed to treat properly. This office will NOT schedule any urgent appointments regardless of if you fear the worst that you're having a miscarriage. They will say they're booked up a month out or more. There have been so many concerns with this practice that I made the mistake of trying to overlook for the sake of staying with the same Dr. I had a SCH with my first pregnancy. Dr. Leonard refused to put me on medication while the SCH continued to grow risking a miscarriage. It wasn't until I finally saw Dr. Kreller for the first time that I was prescribed medication that resolved the SCH. Upon being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I asked Dr. Leonard if there were any pamphlets with more information on what to eat and avoid. I was provided a paper that said guide to healthy eating for weight loss with weight loss crossed out and GD hand written over it. When researching foods, the lists I found didn't match the list provided. I had preeclampsia. At the after birth appointment I wasn't told anything about what to be aware of with postpartum preeclampsia. I self diagnosed the postpartum preeclampsia when you would think the Dr. would have wanted me to come in again to check my BP or inform me of checking my BP at home. After pleading that something was wrong and I needed to come back in, I was seen. My BP was so high that I was prescribed medication. I was never told the seriousness of high BP, how life threatening it could be or again to monitor at home. Several years later I was pregnant with my second baby. I had early bleeding that started minor and called the Dr. Dr. Leonard told the nurse to tell me they're all booked up a month and a half out and to go to the ER. The office will not squeeze you in for an urgent appointment. I ended up finding an OBGYN that had a same day appointment. At the other OBGYN, they provided a handout with dos and donts that included a weight restriction of 20 lbs that Morningstar never informed me of. The bleeding got worse. 5 days after my other appointment I had my Morningstar appointment I had booked a month ago. Another SCH was found and medication was prescribed by the nurse. The nurse wanted me to come back in 3 weeks but the front office staff said they were booked a month and a half out and that they would check with the nurse and call me back. They failed to call me back. That evening, the blood got worse and I passed a fist sized blood clot. I called Morningstar. The nurse called me back and said Dr. Leonard is sorry about the blood clot and said to call us back in a few days if things don't get better. No scheduled appointment or concern with what happened. I called the other OBGYN and they said I can go to the ER or wait until the morning (I booked an online appointment for the other OBGYN for the next morning after it happened). The Dr. told me what to look out for that would require me to go to the ER. I had lost my second baby. read more

Absolutely furious with this facility. I was abandoned, I came in for my 15 week 1st appointment on 01/21/2022 at 1:30 as scheduled only to be told there was no faculty to see me and that the Dr. cancelled my appointment. Instead of taking responsibility for the team's failure to contact me. The woman with the short hair and glasses argued with me and blamed it on my phone service. I gave them an email the day I made my appointment over a month ago so clearly the team did not do everything they could have to notify me, not a letter or anything. I am a high risk and was to follow up from the Emergency Room the night before 01/20/2022 because of a subchorionic hemorrhage and a short femur on the fetus the ER Dr. relied on that. This is my first pregnancy- and when I called Morning Star I was experiencing cramping. They got me in on Dr. Leonards lunch hour to determine if I was having any complications(this was my 1st visit). At this point, I was positive this was the Doctor for me! However, after that visit they never called me back with test results. Instead they have you log into a portal (which tends to have glitches) to see your results and future appointments! I thought this was going to be very convenient. Not at all. I needed to change my appointment so I did so through their online portal- I even called after to talk with the office to make sure that my new appointment was rescheduled. Come the day of my appointment, I called to confirm the time because they never called me to confirm. They said that I had cancelled it so I was not scheduled. They were very rude about the appointment and said that I should have received a cancellation email (which I never received). They were then going to push my appointment out 2 more weeks because whoever I had talked to previously to re-schedule that appointment never saved it in their books. (whoever I was speaking with was VERY RUDE) I was able to finagle my way into an appointment at the time I was planning on so my husband was able to go to this ultra sound with me which is a very special moment- especially it being our first pregnancy. They made our experience very rushed, unorganized and as if we were a burden. They made the cancellation seem like it was OUR fault. I saw Sarah who was their most requested PA and she made me feel very uncomfortable. It could be due to my experience with the front office and the attitude we were receiving from one of the girls. She wasn't informative at all and gave me a packet at the front informing me on what to expect with my next future Dr visits. I would not tell anyone I know to walk into this office due to the lack of communication and INFORMATION I did not receive as far as this being my 1st pregnancy. I found another OBGYN called Valley Women for Women- PA Heidi- and had a much different experience and she walked me through what to expect with my Dr. visits and said they were not going to run any unnecessary screenings to jack up my rates -which is what I experienced with Morning Star. There are better, more informative OBGYNs out their- I would suggest to look else where. ADVISORY: The office is a VERY religious atmosphere as well, this does not bother me- however I just want to let others know who may be uncomfortable with that. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Leonard's for nearly 15 years. I had an appointment this morning at 8:15am and due to morning rush hour and an accident, I walked into the office 7 minutes late. I was told I had to reschedule. Never mind that I was there because I needed a diagnosis for an illness... this wasn't just some routine visit without concern. I routinely wait longer than that in the waiting room and exam room to see a provider. I am extremely disappointed in this experience and will be finding a new provider. My review is a little late, I am just now seeing them on here. I had my daughter in 2013, she was delivered by Dr. Leonard. I feel the need to write this because of the positive experience I had. I came to Morning Star when I was 33 weeks. I switched because the place I was at first was absolutely horrible. I first called I had made an appointment but was shortly called back to change that because Dr. Leonard wanted to make an appointment with me sooner because of how far along I was. My first appointment was great. I felt important and comfortable... I felt that myself and my daughter were going to be taken care of. Every appointment after that ensured that feeling. All the staff is very friendly and supportive. When you're about to be a new mommy, that is very important to you. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Leonard and his staff. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know. Still to this day I see Sarah Adamo for any checkups, etc.. She is absolutely fantastic too. If anyone is having trouble with their Doctor's or is trying to find one. You won't regret going here. read more

The office is nice enough. The staff seemed friendly. I went to my first appt which seemed pretty much a waste of time. I was 1 day shy of 10 weeks pregnant, all the appt consisted of was paperwork and a few questions about my health with the PA... at 10 weeks they do the pelvic exam and meet with the Dr instead of the PA. So I was one day shy, had to pay my copay and had to make a second appt for the actual exam... seemed like a waste of time. I also noticed in the take home paperwork about pregnancy dos and don'ts there were a lot of references to prayer and God which is totally fine but I happen to not be a very religious person and felt a little uncomfortable. I was treated as if I were overreacting, PA got pretty patronizing with me, front office staff failed to give accurate information and so had me schedule a follow-up appointment before I had all the tests complete. I have had five babies under the care of Dr. Leonard, and every time I go to the hospital and am asked who my doctor is, the response is always the same...."He is the best!" So, don't take my word for it, the nurses in the hospital think so, too.
