They had it for a month, never even bothered to look at the vehicle, then gave a ridiculous quote. Then bothered to tell us that they couldn't even help us unless we wanted to pay money. Both David Vanderhyde Sr. and Davey Jr. should be ashamed. If you want a crooked place to take your vehicle to get swindled, then go here. If not, go anywhere else. This place is a pile of steaming crap. Edit- (4/23/26)- This dealership actively tries to take advantage of customers. I left messages to speak with multiple people and no one bothered to call back. I would never buy a vehicle here, or take your vehicle here to be worked on not even if you're desperate. J.R. In the service department Actively tries to take advantage of customers and the owners know about it. Especially Davey Vanderhyde. Just pathetic Edit - (5/7/26)- Ended up taking it to another well known dealer and I they were able to have it repaired in 2 weeks. We then found out that they ran the VIN of the truck through the Good faith warranty program and flat out lied to our faces. Again, the Vanderhydes are garbage people and if you want to be scammed, then go here. I'd also stay away from J.R., as he's a few colors short of a full crayon box.

If I could give it many negative stars I totally would they probably abuse me after I paid them…read more$1200 to do a job they did not do in the first place as a matter fact I received my vehicle back in worse shape than what it was when I gave it to them for the repairs they screamed cuss words at me calling me horrible swear words because i politely asked them to at very least fix my air conditioning back to the halfway working order iit was before they charged me to actually fix it because now it won't even turn on at all he started cus and slammed the phone in my ear i tried calling back after letting it register how he had just treated me in disbelief I called to ask them to please put my jeys in my car I'd come pick it up they refused to answer my call so I waited a bit and used my friends phone to call the lady that originally called me with a quote of yet another 540 dollars to fix my air conditioner and now ironically my ignition coil pack was bad and that's their explanation why my car was now running extremely rough after just 42 minutes of total drive time since they repaired the car lol but they had to have damaged the ignition coil pack doing the tune up or something because I work at auto zone as a manager i simply ran it for any new trouble codes the day before bringing it back to them after they had already done all those repairs because I was afraid it was going to leave me stranded on the side of the road now so I only paid them $1200 to fix something that came back to me more broke than what it was in the beginning but now I have more parts that I'm told have to be replaced due to their negligence in my opinion, I can't say for absolute sure but i said I'd come pick my car up and she was extremely rude now too sh snapped at me and said yup they're in there and i politely asked for the name of who was in charge of the business she was very rude and said you don't need to know absolutely anything and hung up on me yet again so I got a ride to go pick my car up and get there to find my car parked on the road downtown barely in the parking spot couldn't find my actual keys anywhere so dreading to have to go in and ask for them I'm reluctantly shutting my car door and I see my keys underneath my actual car on the road lol I was absolutely floored I am astonished that someone that runs a business especially this day and age in a small awesome town that we live in here is still in business at all verbally abusive and basically krooks in my opinion they charged me for a job that was never done they broke my vehicle more and it's my only means of transportation for my own livelihood to maintain my bills and my life I don't have any extra money for another vehicle or ano thousand dollars to fix whatever they claim needs t be done now so i'm now bringing it to another mechanic to find out what's going on and how he can help me and how much that's gonna cost me but he's gonna let me actually use a loaner car while he does the work and ironically when I told him what happened to me, he said now I am the fourth customer that he has had out in Coopersville there had a story about the same auto value in Sparta and how they were treated and taken advantage of people WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL DOING BUSINESS TO BEGIN WITH THEY NEED TO BE CLOSED DOWN!! Review of General RV in Wayland, Michigan…read more We recently had the pleasure of working with General RV in Wayland, Michigan, and overall, it was a very positive experience. Here's a detailed breakdown of what stood out and a few areas where there's room for improvement. What Stood Out Wide Range of Options: General RV offers an impressive variety of choices, from their "Keep You Camping" program - considered an "industry differentiator" because it prioritizes your ability to use your RV during peak camping season and educates owners on what truly needs immediate attention versus what can wait - to various extended warranties. Their willingness to work with customers and tailor options to individual needs really sets them apart. Exceptional Team Members * Marcus (Salesperson Extraordinaire): Marcus was fantastic. He patiently answered all our questions and helped us secure a great price. His expertise and knowledge of the industry as a whole, honesty and friendly approach made the buying process smooth and enjoyable. We appreciated all of his tips and tricks while test driving and found his insight and attention to detail refreshing! * Justin (Financier and "Cliff Talker Offer"): Justin was incredibly patient with all our questions, especially when we raised concerns about General RV's service department Yelp rating. He walked us through the financing options clearly and helped us understand everything thoroughly. * Aaron (Parts Specialist): Aaron was straightforward and helpful, providing a clear list of must-have, nice-to-have, and cool items for our RV. His no-nonsense attitude was refreshing and very useful. I love that he did not try to sell us things we didn't need and answered lots of questions about water systems and electricity! * Jim (Walk-Through Expert): Jim gave us a thorough walk-through of the RV and explained all the features in detail, ensuring we felt confident with our purchase. * Andrew (Insurance Specialist): Andrew was amazing at finding the best insurance coverage and deductible combination within our budget. His expertise made a complicated process much easier. * Front Desk Team: The ladies at the front desk were attentive and helpful throughout. Even though they initially spelled our name incorrectly, they quickly fixed it and kept the atmosphere light with some friendly teasing. Areas for Improvement While the overall experience was great, the cleanliness and attention to detail inside the RV could use some work. There were small issues like the time wasn't set on the clock, dried chunky caulking around the outside lights and smeared on a window, and a receptacle so dusty that I initially thought its color was off. Improving these small details would elevate the customer experience significantly. Final Thoughts General RV in Wayland offers excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of helpful programs that make RV ownership easier and more enjoyable - especially for a first time buyer. With a bit more focus on the finishing touches and cleanliness, they would be absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the market for an RV.

We met Riley from General RV of Wayland, Michigan a few weeks ago while visiting from Tucson…read more Arizona. We knew exactly what we were looking for and he was able to show us just that. We informed him we were going to the Hershey RV show and since he was going to be there as well he was willing to to meet up with us while we were there. He came to the RV we were looking at, helped us with the purchase and at the price we were looking for! He even offered to follow up with us on his day off when picking up the RV. He was amazing, available and one of the best salesman we have worked with so far and this is our 4th RV! Thank you, Riley for being there for us and not pushing just for the sale. You are the kind of Salesman we look for when purchasing. -The Morton Family
