Booked the Feast of the 7 fishes pre-fix experience on Christmas Eve. Reservation time was for 7:30pm, and we were seated at 7:45pm. Although not an extremely long wait, Elma is an intimate restaurant with no standing room for non-diners, so when they are running behind that involves guest waiting outside ... in the cold. While I understand "things happen, The owner/chef handled the communication of the delay poorly, in my opinion. He was bothered with the inquiries and seemed annoyed that he had to keep coming to the door to answer similar questions from other patrons with the same seating time. Outside of the personnel, the food was decent. Although the menu was set to be a fish/seafood forward one, I did appreciate the variety of the dishes served that day. I do however feel the temperature the food was served at, was a bit luke-warm and that's coming from someone who despises overly hot served food. This however, leaned towards cold. Would I give Elma another shot, yes! I want to visit again on a regular day and get their regular menu, and choose dishes of my preference. I do also think they could benefit from a hostess :)

We were greeted by the bar staff who was great and helpful at giving suggestions for the menu. Started with (not pictured-- Bloody Mary and Don Giorgio drinks which were tasty for a slight hair of the dog) bomboloni which were delicious but with the rich flavor of the chocolate sauce, I'd rather have saved it for dessert. Also you get 4 and they're (IMO) too big for 2 people to share (but great for a larger group) because I was starting to get full. Entrees were the Eggs in Purgatory (perhaps an Italian shakshuka) which we ordered because the people next to us ordered it and it looked delicious--and glad we did. The dish was so flavorful and we left no crumbs. We also ordered the sweet Jawn pizza which also left us members of the clean plate club. The hot honey was just subtle enough but provided an extra level of flavor you didn't realize you needed. I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying their dinner menu!! 5/5 stars!

I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The restaurant was completely packed on a Saturday night. We ordered two cocktails and 3 appetizers to start. Cocktails: 1. crimson and clover was very good. Not too sweet and I enjoyed the pomegranate & ginger beer combo. 2. Martini was citrusy and strong! Not my cup of tea Focaccia: very fluffy and soft on the inside. Crispy on the outside. The ricotta olive oil dip was pleasant. Nothing special about this dish but it was a good sharing app Wood fired beets: so good. Even if you don't like beets, you'll like these. Beets were sweet and topped with ricotta and pistachio. Very delicious. Grilled calamari: also very good. Charred, tender, and full of flavor. For entrees, we ordered the tortellini di zucca, apple pie pizza, and spicy jawn pizza. Tortellini: smaller than I was expecting but very tasty. Creamy, nutty, and not too heavy. Apple pie pizza: seems like this pie is seasonal. Apples, ham, and brussels sprouts with a white sauce. If you're a fan of Hawaiian pizza, this might be up your alley. The apple and ham combo was nice but this isn't necessarily something I'd get again. Spicy jawn pizza: this pizza was very meaty and had a nice spice to it! Overall every dish was good and I'd come back.

Highly recommend making a reservation as it's a small place with about enough table seating for 20-30 people at a time. For food with started off with the focaccia which was divine! It had the perfect amount of sweet salt and the bread was still soft with the perfect crunch. For mains, we had the vodka rigatoni which was delicious! It wasn't that spicy to me but was the perfect portion size. The pasta didn't come with the option to add a protein so that's something to keep in mind. I loved that all the drinks they offered were made locally by PA breweries and wineries. They also have an amazing share meal deal that allows you to try multiple dishes for a good price. Can't wait to try this place again the next time I'm in Philly

Our waitress actually let us sample a few of the wines, since we couldn't decide! This was awesome and so rare these days, but a definite plus for any "wine bar". That being said, the food was really underwhelming. The highlight for me was the tuna crudo, which was so flavorful, creative, and absolutely melted in my mouth. The carrots were also really good. The pastas, however, which the place is known for, lacked flavor. The menu descriptions seemed super unique and innovative, but when the dishes arrived, they were seriously lacking. I really did come here for the pasta, and since the meal wasn't exactly cheap, I don't think I'll be rushing back.

I now live in Florida and when I come back I need to have a few food items while I'm there. My first stop is always the Pretzel Factory, I have to have a Stromboli with steak, forget the cheesesteaks go for a Stromboli from Fiore! Medium size is pretty good size, for three people we had plenty of left over for the next day. The delivery gentleman which I didn't get his name was very friendly. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza, my last visit to Philly, We had to get it again, so good and I'm not a crust but their crust was actually pretty good for me to have. Our order came pretty fast!! I forget to take photos of our food, Sorry !! Food just looked to good not to dig in right away. I hope this will help you in making a decision on their Stromboli. Forgot to mention that we had the.Fiore's special Stromboli, which has the pepperoni in his steak mushrooms green peppers mozzarella cheese, onions, and a red sauce so delicious now I know way to go get my Stromboli my next visit back home.

When you walk in, you're greeted by smells of fresh baked pastries and sights of families, friends and hipsters packed like sardines in the small dining room. Despite being tiny, the system flows like a well operated machine and I am here for it. You place your order at the counter, which is speckled with an array of freshly baked Italian pastries and savory items. We opted for their classic, the SALTIE sandwich, and a side of hash browns because what brunch is complete without some taters? After ordering your are given a table number and, if you are lucky, you find a table and a waitress brings out your food. While you wait, any drinks you ordered are also brought out and their coffee is bottomless so hint, hint. Fill-er up. After a few minutes, we were greeted with the perfect sandwich. I am being quite literal here. A combination I wouldn't have dreamt of. So simple. So. damn. good. The softest scrambled eggs sit atop a cloud of whipped ricotta (TRUST this) which is perfectly seasoned with salt and black pepper. Then it's all sandwiched between crunchy/crispy, perfectly oiled housemade focaccia. It is perfect in every single way and as soon as I was done eating it, I dreamt about the next time I would eat one. We can't forget the spuds, because those...My goodness. An upgraded version of my favorite hash browns as a kid (the Golden Arches) these are large and in charge and an order comes with two hefty slabs that are perfectly rectangular, perfectly salted and despite coming with ketchup, need nothing more than a napkin to wipe your hands after eating one. The rest of their breakfast menu looks fire as does their lunch items, which rotate based on seasonality. If only I lived closer, this would be a weekly, if not daily, staple. Fiore Fine Foods... The food you crank out sure is fine. Much, much more than fine and I can't wait til the next time.
