Highly recommended!!…read more New to the valley area and needed a hair appointment Booked a hair appointment to dye my hair from natural jet black to blonde back in the end of May & they were able to do so all in the same day with no complaints. Wish I would've remembered her name but she was so kind from start to finish, my appointment was at 1 and we didn't finish until almost 8 pm. As tired as she was she didn't rush at all nor did she make me feel uncomfortable. Definitely recommend this hair salon. Hella clean and so much room in here for a lot of customers & to still be able to get around the salon. Would be coming back from now on

Unfortunately, I didn't have a welcoming experience here…read more The first time I walked in was around 5 PM after seeing that the salon advertised walk-ins as welcome. When I entered, no one greeted or acknowledged me. I eventually asked if anyone had availability and was told that all of the stylists had left for the day. I was asked to leave my number and told that "maybe someone will call you." I left my number but never heard back. I later came across Michelle's Instagram and contacted her directly. She was able to book me for a haircut a few days later. When I arrived for my appointment, there was a woman at the front desk on the phone who looked at me but didn't greet or acknowledge me. Since it was my first appointment there, I wasn't sure whether I needed to check in or wait. Even after she got off the phone, I still wasn't acknowledged. I sat down and noticed Michelle nearby on her phone. After sitting there for a couple of minutes without anyone saying anything, I finally got up and asked her if she was Michelle. Michelle was nice during the actual service, and I left her a generous tip. However, once I got home and looked more closely at my haircut, I noticed some long, thick sections in the front that I wanted adjusted. I messaged her and politely asked if she could fix them, even offering to pay extra if necessary. I never received a response. I ultimately went to Pomp Salon to have my hair corrected, and the difference in the customer experience was noticeable. I was greeted, acknowledged, and made to feel welcome from the moment I walked in. For me, this wasn't just about the haircut. It was the overall lack of acknowledgment and follow-up that made the experience disappointing.

I have watched Stevie Diaz for a long time and got to know her over the years. Her work speaks for itself. She is meticulous, professional, listens to her clients needs and wants, gives her best advice and professional opinions based on those needs and wants, she is honest and above all talented! She wants each clients experience to be personal down to being aware of their emotional needs as well. For example, she recently posted that if her clients need quiet time during their appointment she would not take offense because she knows that some people just want to get their hair done without all the extra talking. She understands that a hair appointment is not just about the hair but the entire client experience. I just enjoy Stevie and appreciate her awesome skills and willingness to go the extra mile for each client so they walk out of their appointment feeling confident, relaxed and gorgeous! She is not just my stylist but also a friend!

I was told If I like a stylist or barber I can get them again, and basically follow them and hopefully after they graduate . I think thats pretty cool Anyways, back to the review... Had to wait till they opened, which is not the time Yelp says they are open at 9am, I think thats when they start school, and staff get there, the actual Salon and Barbershop open at 10:30, if I remember right, it was not 9am like its posted. Walking into the place is a little confusing and so much going on, like they need a remodel with the guest check / receptionist, and behind them a walk way for others in the building getting to one side to the other, withoutblocking the flow of traffic. But I dont judge them at all, just was screaming for traffic flow, and receptionist work space. And before I forget , a Shout out to JOEY, I swear it was Joey, I am terrible at names... Tall ... just leave it at that dude was tall.. nice guy, didnt talk much, but then again they are pretty focused on the job at hand. gave me a almost prefect cut, as he was shaving my side, he shaved my side burns right off.. all good, they grow back fast anyways. and when he did my beard my wife said it was off one side, but I still liked and felt good. You have to understand unless you get an instructor which i had once, but he was showing techines on my hair.. to students, so I doubt they do that often? My point is these are college kids/adults/people. They are there learning and growing doing something most of them love and have a real passion for. Give them a chance. I'm a long-story kinda guy, but bear with me; you might be entertained…read more My mom was a cosmetologist and she gave me every haircut I got until I was about 18. Since then (we're talking THREE DECADES-ish), I think I've only gone to the same hair person once. She started working out of her garage and I kinda noped out. So there's been this endless line of decades worth of haircuts that have failed to impress me. I've cut my OWN hair several times. My girlfriend is NOT A FAN of my cosmetological skills, or lack of same. I should rewind a bit. I have curly, sometimes frizzy, nasty hair. It has NEVER LOOKED RIGHT. I'd look at Patrick Dempsey, or Robb Stark, or Chalamet, and I'd say, "y'know what? I could look like that with the right combo of product." Nope. Thousands of dollars of products later, I have never achieved the look I was looking for, until today. Today I crossed paths with Amber Smith. Reportedly, she's the only one that does "guy hair" at Enlighten Salon. I told her my sad tale, she was very reassuring, and said "you'll see, you'll look great". And proceeded to give me (and I love my mom more than life itself) the best damn haircut I have ever received in damn near 50 years. She even taught me how to style it!! I've literally purchased BOOKS on "curly hair for dudes", and none of that stuff held a candle to Amber's work. Whether you're a guy or a gal, PLEASE check this place out. This was a one in a million find. You will not be disappointed.
