This past December I booked with Vanessa for silver/ platinum processing. I was indecisive at the beginning but she was so patient and kind! My process took about 14 hours of Vanessa's meticulous attention to detail. I've been getting my hair colored and cut for so many years, where I left botched and insecure. This was hands down the best salon experience I've had and is worth the drive from my house in Newark! She is extremely kind and bubbly, and I'm forever grateful for the care she took in separating my botched layers of balayages to get me to an even blonde (With my textured hair too)! I've been trying to reach this salon and followed their process online for booking an appt by sending a text with all my information. A few days later I get a text back saying someone will follow up with me but no one ever did. I've seen the stylists post their availability online and how they have openings but still don't understand why none of them ever got back to me if they have so many openings. It seems like they're not organized in terms of booking appointments or having a system that does so for you so just be aware if you're trying to get in for a quick appointment, it may take longer for them to get back to you. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Lux. I've been coming to Lux to get my hair done for years! Specifically with Marjorie! I honestly can say that I never leave the salon unsatisfied. The atmosphere, the environment, it's always a good time! Not to mention the outcome of my hair! Marjorie never fails to take care of me! I think if stylist is going to charge anything close to 400.00 it should be discussed with a client... i understand get what you pay for.. but 400.00$ seems ridiculous.. not a color correction.. or anything of that sort, i like my hair but wouldve never gone here if i knew i would be charged anything close to 400. I love this salon!!! Even though all the stylists here are talented, I chose to go with Iris after finding her many beautiful styles and coloring on Instagram. I was so impressed with her work, that I didn't mind making the drive to Stockton from San Jose to have her do my hair. Let me tell you it was well worth it!!! Iris takes the time to listen to what I want to do with my hair and she makes it happen. Not only that, she is very genuinely sweet and has a great sense of humor! I spent 5 hours in the salon, but I didn't even realize it because everyone treated me so kindly and I was having a nice time being there! I saw the other two negative reviews on this salon, and I think it's a shame. The reviewers didn't have any service done, but felt that they had to rate very poorly about this salon. That's not fair. Any reputable salon or stylist will be heavily booked for months, and it's not easy to get an appointment if you don't plan ahead or exercise some patience. I know I did, and the experience for me was great! I have experience going to many stylists and know this is always the case. My son and I had a great experience today at Lux! My 11 year old son wanted a new look which included a new color. I had no idea where to even start, luckily I scheduled an appointment with AJ, who completely hooked my son up! The style is modern and cool and the hair cut frames his face. He loves it and so do I. Aracely cut my hair I'm new to the area and let's be honest I'm picky about who I let cut my hair but this place has great reviews so I took a shot and was not disappointed. I called about mid day and someone politely answered advised she would find someone to call or text me back to set up the appointment. I arrived and Aracely was ready to rock and roll she greeted me and to my surprise the salon was empty except two other girls so the vibe was chill. The hair washing station is heaven! I am completely satisfied with my hair. Since March 2020, I wasn't able to get my hair done until December 2020. Stevie made my hair new again. I saw her again in Feb for a touch up, and still lovee my hair. I will definitely see her again and probably will let her do whatever as long as it's low maintenance. There are other ladies there, I was just referred to Stevie by a client of mine. Before Covid, all of the ladies there get constant continuing education for hair. Despite what some old reviews said about Majorie, I had an excellent time with her for my balayage! She was very sweet and explained to me what she was doing for every step of the way. I had dead ends at first, so she trimmed my hair then spent nearly 4.5 hours hand painting my hair just to make sure everything was even and perfect. Her balayage technique was also able to get me to a light blonde in only one session which I was highly impressed with. She even made a custom set of toners just so my color melt came out amazing. Really wanted to give this salon a try but making an appointment was impossible. I just wanted a hair cut and maybe more down the line. Took a while(weeks) to get a response back even though I've followed their appointment booking rules. Finally a month later I got an appointment and when the date was getting closer(3 weeks later) the stylist texted me just to be told last minute she double booked me. I have called three times within the last year to try to make an appointment but no one ever answers the phone. The voicemail states they would call you back if you leave your info to which they never do either. I was recommended here by my sister in law and niece but I mean, if they don't care about getting new clients, why even bother. I get that salons can be busy and sometimes it's hard to get an appointment (which is why I gave them a year to reply with three different tries) but Apparently they don't care for new clients enough to call you back so don't waste your time if you're not already going to them. So i got my hair done by jannefer on october 6 on a Wednesday i messaged her by Monday because i straighten my hair and saw some things i did not like. She did not message me for 3 days and she was posting on her social media so i am sure she saw my message. I explained to her that what i asked for was not what i got. She kept saying well when you were he you seem satisfied but we all know we feel bad to say thats not what we want when we are there but once i saw what she did i had to say something. I paid 280 dollars and she only toned my hair and did a deep conditioner. I asked to see if she can just blend the top and she just said i can tone your hair darker. I was already to dark i didnt want my hair as dark as she did it. She did not care to satisfy the customer my appointment was at 9am and when i was on my way she said she would be 45 min late. She got so many clients going down the road and she refer me to her bff Cynthia which I truly luv much . She always takes care of my red hair and I get so much compliments everywhere I go. This review is LONG OVERDUE. I've been a regular client of Stevie's for a few years now... and I have to toot her horn because she has always been able to get my hair how I have envisioned it. She's always honest about how many sessions it will take to achieve a lighter/blonde color and she is always very thorough with her haircuts! I shaved my side once and when I was ready to grow it out she was able to give me a hair cut that hid the awkward stages of it growing out. She's brought me back from my crazy color days. I was once red (Rihanna red) and covered it with a black violet and she slowly but surely got me blonde! Like I said she is honest about how many processes it takes to go lighter and I was more than willing to be patient and let her do her magic. I definitely recommend her! Also... the salon itself is super cute! They recently just remodeled the inside and it's even cuter than before! Always clean and never unkept. I love the look the salon owner has going there. I was fortunate to get an appointment with Iris, thanks to a friend's referral. Iris exceeded all my expectations. I arrived with long, old brassy hair color with dry ends and left with a fresh cut, dark brown base, and ash blond balayage. I'm so obsessed with the cut and color. Iris is such a talented woman. If I could give my stylist Tina 10 starts I would have. I found Lux salon through work of mouth at my nail salon down the street. After reviewing photos I seen Tina on many photos with very different hair styles and colors. Her blonde hair looked flawless and even which I was looking to do on my own hair.
