I have wavy hair and it's hard to find a cut that fits my face and hair pattern. I spoke to John over the phone a week ago. He was very friendly and reassuring that he could help me with the look I was going for. A week later I had my appointment. Walking to into this place was stunning. Beautiful wall art and bright colored walls. I loved it. I showed John some pictures and he explained to me the type of cut I wanted. Every step of the way he explained what he was doing and always checked in with me about the length. He helped me style my hair two different ways. I have never had a stylist check in with me the way he did, he made me feel very comfortable in the length and style. Also the surrounding staff was also as nice as John. Thanks John for such a great haircut. I loooove it so much! read more

I took my 4 year old daughter in for her very first haircut. Kyiah was so nice and talked my little one through the whole thing. My daughter did get the wiggles at the end, but kyiah was so patient. We will back. read more

I received a message from Kenny immediately and he matched me with Gina. Once Gina reached out, we were able to get me booked the same week, and she was super flexible with scheduling. Once I got there, she really took her time to look at my hair, listen to my desires and talk to me. She didn't even start working on my hair for about 20 minutes, which was really wonderful. I felt so At easy with Gina! Her calming demeanor and obvious expertise in the profession speak for itself. She is very easy to mesh with! Once she started, she took her time and did an amazing job. I got a full balayage, tone and trim. Gina truly takes pride in her craft and carrying conversation was super easy and the perfect vibe you want while trusting someone with something so delicate as your hair. I am so happy to have found a stylist close to home that reminds me of home. Thanks Gina! See you soon! read more

100/10 No amount of stars could do it justice. I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Kyiah at Modni Hair Lounge in Lodi, CA, and I am beyond satisfied with the results! Just read the response to my two star review, now I have to take away another star for dishonesty. I was not kept in touch with after my appointment by anyone. I had to text and ask when I may be seen for my follow cut and after over 2 weeks, I still didn't have a follow up appointment and was not contacted by the other stylist. So, no, no one kept in touch with me from the salon. I kept having to reach out to them. And there was no charge for my half haircut but I did drive from out of town, have to take off work early to meet your salon hours, only to not get my hair cut . I wanted it cut the same way as I walked it with it but shorter. Pretty simple really. read more

I went in for a brown base and a rose gold highlights. I loved it. John was very professional and knowledgeable about the colors and the hairstyle I was looking for. It came out fantastic. This will be my go to for my hair. read more

This salon is a whole vibe. I love it! Everyone is really welcoming and Raquel is amazing. Highly recommend!

This salon is the best you will find. First of all it is perfectly decorated, super clean, fun - not to mention the stylists always offering snacks or drinks! They use top of the line hair products and no matter which stylist you go to I promise they will make your hair fabulous, couldn't recommend more. 11/10! read more

I texted and received a text back within hours for an appointment the next morning. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with John, very, very pleasant man. I have problem hair, he took his time to look over my hair and explain what he would do in order to style my hair the way I wanted it, he cut and styled my hair then had me work through it to insure when I style it my hair would look the way I wanted it to look. I will definitely be going back, he has a customer for life. I would recommend Modni Hair Lounge to everyone looking for a great stylist. The Lounge is immaculate, stylish and has a very calming feel. read more

I asked Yelp to find me a salon to give me a cut to help hide my giant forehead and this was the only one that did women's hair ( they sent my message to a bunch of barbers and Modni). They responded fast and set up an appointment within the same week. They asked for a deposit which I think is very smart for a business that relies on customers showing up. I also thought it was smart of them to keep their doors locked. It's nice to know that no crazy gunman will shoot the place up while I'm getting a trim. Everyone who works here is very polite and professional. If any of them had a bad day, they hid it very well. The place is really clean and the decor is so chic. It made me feel expensive just by standing in it. All I had to do was show a picture to my stylist ( John) and he replicated the cut perfectly. He also gave me a bunch of tips as he styled my hair to get the exact look I was looking for. I appreciated how he didn't force me to buy a bunch of products or make me feel bad about the state of my hair. High end salons don't always have the nicest stylists, but that wasn't an issue here at all. I'm very happy with my cut and the service I received. I think this will be my go to salon from now on. read more

I received many compliments at my Son's wedding. The vibe was great and overall he did a great job.

I personally have not been to Modni but, I left voicemails on their phone and also sent a request through Yelp, which showed that it was read, two days after I sent the request. If you have an influx of customers, at least get back to the ones who are wanting an appointment to let us know that hair appointments are so far out, etc.. The hairstylists look like they do a phenomenal job, but who ever is responsible to communicate to requests, does a poor job. read more

I requested a service quote on yelp, filled out the questionnaire that asked about my hair type, and the kind of hair service I was requesting. I appreciated this questionnaire because as a woman of color, my hair is thick and wavy. A couple days later, one of the owners of the salon reached out to me, and set me up with John. John was very accommodating to my schedule, and got me really excited about my lob cut. When I first walked in, not only was I greeted by John, but also another hair stylist was all smiles and very welcoming. I love my hair cut, and I appreciate that John stays up to par with latest cut trends, and more importantly, how to deal with different kinds of textured hair. read more

My first time here. I met Lena a week prior to my appointment. Once I met her and spoke with her. I knew she would be a great stylist. When I arrived today for my scheduled appointment. She talked to me. Asking me questions about my hair. She didn't rush into cutting. Explaining every step she was going to do. And the end result!!! I LOVE IT!!! I HAVE A NEW HAR STYLIST!!! THANK YOU LENA!!! read more

We stumbled upon Modni 5 years ago when I was looking for a hairstylist for our wedding. We went with Modni for makeup and hair styling for our wedding in October 2019 and have not looked back since! We (both my husband and I) have been seeing Gina and Lena since our wedding for a VARIETY of styles, cuts, and colors and could not be more thankful or grateful for the service and family we've made along the way. We've been to "boujie" salons before in the Bay and have never been treated like We've been treated here before. Every. Single. Team. Member. Of Modni truly cares about their client (and eachothers clients) . ALL of the staff listen to what our requests are and work with us to get the most incredible results. If you are looking for an incredible salon, look no further. If you are looking for the most incredible wedding makeup or hair or both... look no further. Give them a call because honestly, they changed our lives read more

I had a wonderful experience at Modni Hair Salon. Upon my first booked appointment John the owner realized he did not have the right color match for my hair (Red's can be tricky) he was sincerely apologetic and he actually drove to Sacramento to get the color he needed and I returned a few days later. Wow! He colored and highlighted and conditioned my hair, The salon is just beautiful, clean and very inviting. John is amazing, very sweet and accommodating and I would highly recommend this salon. read more

Beautiful salon - as soon as you walk through the front door (and the fairy princess door charm welcomes you) you know you're in good hands. Salon is in a great location with a spacious parking lot attached so you never have to worry about finding parking. My stylist Lena Orr is the best! She listens to whatever crazy request I have and always gives me her expert opinion to make sure my hair dreams come true. She is a master with color and always delivers exactly what I wanted. I think the greatest indicator of her talent is that I got my mom to be a faithful client of hers as well after having the same hair stylist for 20 years prior! My mom and I both have pixies and it's really hard to find someone that cuts short hair well but Lena always has us looking sharp. Can't recommend Lena and Modni Hair Salon enough!! read more

If you like to keep your length and hoping to just get a trim. Don't go here. I had long hair almost to butt and now it to my shoulders.

I have been on the receiving end of John Galindo's amazing coloring and cutting techniques for years. I constantly receive compliments from people on the street, coworkers and friends. John is dedicated to his work and his clients. Consistently, he works to see his clients feeling beautiful and happy. He put a lot of diligent work into creating the vision he had for a hair lounge that is pampering and fashion forward thinking. Modni is exactly the hair lounge experience that Lodi needs. read more

Owner, John, is a terrific person. He shows up & keeps his word. I went to Modni because I had the color expert from hell at a previous salon. Orange hair, breaking off. He & his colorist very nicely trimmed & put on a rinse. They were quite candid about what to expect. A year of damaged hair. I'm still recovering.BLC read more

This is hands down a fantastic salon!! I found them on yelp along with several other salons. They were THE ONLY ones to respond. And in a timely manner. The salon manager was Johnny on the dot and referred me to Gina. Ladies.... if you want a beautiful updo... she's your girl!!! Friendly, professional and super sweet!!! I will be posting pictures soon. But trust me... my hair was AMAZING! read more

Slow response. Was looking to get a cut and hair color but appointment was never booked nor was I contacted by an stylist as promised. They never answer their listed phone so messages thru yelp work best, still tho the response is super slow. The person I message with was nice and polite but this place its not interested on gaining new clientele so if you are looking for a new salon you might want to skip this one and keep looking unless you like waiting. read more
