Just read the response to my two star review, now I have to take away another star for dishonesty. I was not kept in touch with after my appointment by anyone. I had to text and ask when I may be seen for my follow cut and after over 2 weeks, I still didn't have a follow up appointment and was not contacted by the other stylist. So, no, no one kept in touch with me from the salon. I kept having to reach out to them. And there was no charge for my half haircut but I did drive from out of town, have to take off work early to meet your salon hours, only to not get my hair cut . I wanted it cut the same way as I walked it with it but shorter. Pretty simple really. read more

Once I got there, she really took her time to look at my hair, listen to my desires and talk to me. She didn't even start working on my hair for about 20 minutes, which was really wonderful. I texted and received a text back within hours for an appointment the next morning. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with John, very, very pleasant man. I have problem hair, he took his time to look over my hair and explain what he would do in order to style my hair the way I wanted it, he cut and styled my hair then had me work through it to insure when I style it my hair would look the way I wanted it to look. I asked Yelp to find me a salon to give me a cut to help hide my giant forehead and this was the only one that did women's hair ( they sent my message to a bunch of barbers and Modni). They responded fast and set up an appointment within the same week. They asked for a deposit which I think is very smart for a business that relies on customers showing up. I also thought it was smart of them to keep their doors locked. It's nice to know that no crazy gunman will shoot the place up while I'm getting a trim. Everyone who works here is very polite and professional. If any of them had a bad day, they hid it very well. The place is really clean and the decor is so chic. It made me feel expensive just by standing in it. All I had to do was show a picture to my stylist ( John) and he replicated the cut perfectly. He also gave me a bunch of tips as he styled my hair to get the exact look I was looking for. I appreciated how he didn't force me to buy a bunch of products or make me feel bad about the state of my hair. High end salons don't always have the nicest stylists, but that wasn't an issue here at all. I'm very happy with my cut and the service I received. We stumbled upon Modni 5 years ago when I was looking for a hairstylist for our wedding. We went with Modni for makeup and hair styling for our wedding in October 2019 and have not looked back since! We (both my husband and I) have been seeing Gina and Lena since our wedding for a VARIETY of styles, cuts, and colors and could not be more thankful or grateful for the service and family we've made along the way. I personally have not been to Modni but, I left voicemails on their phone and also sent a request through Yelp, which showed that it was read, two days after I sent the request. If you have an influx of customers, at least get back to the ones who are wanting an appointment to let us know that hair appointments are so far out, etc.. The hairstylists look like they do a phenomenal job, but who ever is responsible to communicate to requests, does a poor job. read more

I requested a service quote on yelp, filled out the questionnaire that asked about my hair type, and the kind of hair service I was requesting. I appreciated this questionnaire because as a woman of color, my hair is thick and wavy. A couple days later, one of the owners of the salon reached out to me, and set me up with John. John was very accommodating to my schedule, and got me really excited about my lob cut. When I first walked in, not only was I greeted by John, but also another hair stylist was all smiles and very welcoming. Upon my first booked appointment John the owner realized he did not have the right color match for my hair (Red's can be tricky) he was sincerely apologetic and he actually drove to Sacramento to get the color he needed and I returned a few days later. Wow! He colored and highlighted and conditioned my hair, The salon is just beautiful, clean and very inviting. Beautiful salon - as soon as you walk through the front door (and the fairy princess door charm welcomes you) you know you're in good hands. Salon is in a great location with a spacious parking lot attached so you never have to worry about finding parking. My stylist Lena Orr is the best! She listens to whatever crazy request I have and always gives me her expert opinion to make sure my hair dreams come true. She is a master with color and always delivers exactly what I wanted. I think the greatest indicator of her talent is that I got my mom to be a faithful client of hers as well after having the same hair stylist for 20 years prior! My mom and I both have pixies and it's really hard to find someone that cuts short hair well but Lena always has us looking sharp. Can't recommend Lena and Modni Hair Salon enough!! read more

I have had Lena as a hair dresser for over almost 2 years. She moved to this new saloon and I had to follow her. She is amazing at her work, very professional, and knows her line of work. We have done everything from simple cut and style, chopped off 14 inches of my hair, done an under shaved, all over color, and now trying low-lights. She educates me on different ways to style my hair and take care of it. Her new saloon, Modni, is beautiful. The chandeliers inside are #lifesgoals SO PRETTY. What an amazing experience. After my former stylist closed due to COVID I was very much in need of an all over color but my 3 inches of outgrowth needed attention immediately & urgently. I saw the reviews on yelp & decided I'd give this place a try. So when I called, left a message John called me back within couple of hours and had me scheduled for the following Saturday. When I went in the salon is modern, clean, cute and they really adhere to safety precautions for both clients and themselves. John listened to my needs, asked me what my goals were for my hair and gave excellent recommendations I have very fine whispy hair and I'm always concerned with hair loss and breakage John gave me a fabulous service a gorgeous color and really made me feel like I might have a healthy head of hair again soon.
