We tried the cookies and cream and vegan yeti and moon butter cup (seasonal flavors in April 2026). It was rather pricey and the yeti and moon butter cup were incredibly sweet...so sweet we couldn't even finish, and we usually love all flavors of ice cream. I love coming to Molly Moon whenever I am in Seattle, especially in this University Village location. I always make it a point to come get some ice cream from molly moon no matter how cold the weather is outside. There isn't one thing that I like to order because I always try their flavors of the month. Obviously during the summer months, there may be a longer line to order than say the fall time. But the staff all work pretty quick and efficiently. They're all very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. As far as the interior, there isn't much seating if at all. My coworkers and I stopped by this location after a long shift at U Village (6/12/25 @ 10:30pm), just hoping to enjoy some ice cream and unwind. Unfortunately, we were met with rudeness and a bizarre level of unprofessionalism that left us shocked. As soon as we walked in, a customer ahead of us informed us--on behalf of the employee--that they had stopped serving 30 minutes before their listed closing time on Google and Yelp. Confused but respectful, we turned to leave. But just moments later, we watched a group walk in and get served with no issue. So we went back in and politely asked if they were still open. The employee, "Samatar" (not sure of the spelling), stared at us, laughed, and said, "What flavor?" in a condescending tone. Then he rambled on about how they were trying to lock the door around 10:30 so they could stop taking orders? Why would you stop serving before your listed closing time(11pm)? I understand there is last call, but for an ice cream shop that seems kinda odd. Still trying to keep things pleasant, we placed our order kindly. When we asked for a kid's scoop, he claimed he didn't have the scoop for it--so we offered to get a regular one instead. What happened next was unacceptable. He looked at us and said: "I hope you guys got a lot of steps in at work tonight, because it's allllloooottt of calories." Seriously? As someone who also works in food service, I know this is a massive violation of basic courtesy and professionalism. You NEVER comment on a guest's body, choices, or calories. Ever. UNLESS ASKED. The entire interaction was rude, awkward, and unnecessary--and the rest of the staff wasn't exactly warm either. We weren't asking for anything special. We just finished a stressful shift, stayed kind, and wanted to support a local spot. It takes nothing to be kind. It takes a lot more effort to be this rude to people who were being polite from the start. Mind you, if he had kindly turned us away or had not spoken to us like that, we would not have been this upset and confused! Oh, and on top of all of that mess. We ordered the matcha strawberry ice cream which tasted nothing like matcha. Or strawberry. It just tasted like cream cheese. We stopped by here on a summer Monday night after having dinner at U Village Din Tai Fung right next door. Even for a Monday night, it was quite busy. The interior is clean, bright, and welcoming with that cute logo Frenchie on all the merch inside. Molly Moon's always has a big variety of interesting flavors to choose from, with both 'always' flavors and four seasonal flavors that get rotated out. We got two scoops, both of seasonal flavors: Orange Creamsicle and Strawberry Rhubarb Sorbet. The first thing we noticed is that the scoops are enormous! They are like the size of a baseball and two scoops is more than enough to share between two people. The Orange Creamsicle had an icy yet creamy texture and tasted like Sunkist soda mixed with vanilla ice cream. Being vegan, the Strawberry Rhubarb Sorbet had a smooth icy texture without any of the creaminess. The strawberry flavor was tart and not artificial-tasting. Both flavors were not overly sweet as well.
