This property management "company" is very corrupt and unethical. There was a leak through the ceiling of the unit below me. I was contacted by Brian from the renovation company Greg uses on Friday 1/26/18. Brian asked for access to my unit which I denied. I didn't know who he was and figured he would contact my landlord if it was urgent. At this time I also informed him about the leak in my storage facility. Brian said it was not urgent and it could wait until my return. When I returned from my trip on the evening of 1/29/18, I found a note from the tenant below stating that this flood started when I took a bath at around 1:30am and asking that I refrain from using the tub until all is figured out. That was fine with me as I did not any issues with neighbors. Greg eventually had Brian meet me at my unit where he used a water detector in my bathroom to look for any sign of a leak or a flood. I stood there while he tested all walls and floors. No water was detected except a little dampness under the sink. Brian stated that it was not enough to cause such damage in the unit below. Neither my landlord nor I saw the damage in the unit below and although a cause for the leak or way for water to enter the unit below could not be found, Greg stated the Brian's determination was "user error" (tub overflow). They used the fact that the I took a bath after coming home from an evening out on the town to get my landlord to pay for the damage. There was no evidence that it was my bath that caused it nor was there any indication that the water came from my unit. My landlord did not want to fight about it so he agreed to pay. Almost 3 weeks later and the leak in my storage facility has not been addressed however the supposed damage that occurred in the condo below me has been long repaired (that tenant is an Owner/Occupier). The leak has since caused tremendous damage to the items in my storage unit. My landlord has given Greg permission to coordinate the repair several times to which he refuses. In the 3.5 years that I have lived there, Greg or his affiliates have contacted and coordinated all other repairs (most plumbing related) with me. Also, they never contacted my landlord at all initially. This company is very unethical and heavily dependent on taking advantage of owners who are less aggressive in order to get money out of them for known preexisting plumbing issues throughout the building (units 17, 2 and 3 have also reported plumbing issues). I will add that there is no other information regarding Mollenkopf Property Management on the web besides their own website and a Glassdoor review which confirms the unethical business practices I have shared. This will change as I will be sharing my experience on every outlet possible.
*Update* It is now 3/18/18 and Greg still refuses to have it repaired. I had an inspection conducted by Boulder fire department who says the pipe is a sewage pipe which should be easily located by a professional plumber. They advised me to contact the health department and seek legal advise which I plan on doing. read more
