    Complementary nachos and salsa.
    David N.

We were in the area for lunch at a different restaurant, but when they turned out to be closed for the day, we began looking around for another option. Molkagtez immediately caught my eye because I'll never say no to tasty Mexican food. We arrived at lunchtime on a recent Saturday and were shown to a table on their impressive, spacious back patio. It's a really cool space and I could see it being very fun in the evening. For food, I opted for the Quesabritas & Consomé Birria ("3 folded quesadillas stuffed with pulled birria meat. Topped with onion and coriander, served with consomé dipping sauce"). First, though, we were served complementary nachos and salsa. This was a delicious way to start off the meal. The nachos tasted hot and fresh, while the salsa was zesty and just the right amount of spicy. The quesabritas showed up a short time later and they're also quite good. Aside from the fact that they showed up to the table warm rather than hot, I quite enjoyed this dish. They were cheesy and flavorful and enhanced considerably by being dipped into that aforementioned sauce. (One of them did have an inedible piece of cartilage in it, so that was unfortunate.) All in all, I really enjoyed my meal at Molkagtez. The service was top-notch, too.

Came for dinner. It was easy to get a reservation and we were lucky and found street parking right out front! The vibes are great here. It was Monday which means $10 margaritas. The value is incredible. The margaritas come in huge glasses. I couldn't decide between mango chamoy and mango habanero so I asked for both and they were able to do it. It was delicious. I really recommend it. They brought a little bowl of chips and salsa to start which I loved. So few restaurants still offer that. We shared the guacamole which desperately needed salt but was otherwise very tasty. The chips are delicious. I ordered the quesabirria with consume and had a shrimp taco. The taco was good but the quesabirria fell apart really quickly and didn't have that crisp on the outside I was expecting. The costume was good. Service was good. It seems like a fun place to have a birthday since two tables were celebrating and were sung to and given a slice of cheesecake and a sombrero for pictures. I'd happily come back :)

Absolutely a gem, the tacos were delicious. My friend even said this is the best baja fish tacos he ever had :) The pulled pork tacos were both flavourful and juicy. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced, around $15 a cocktail, which still sounds crazy but nowadays many places charge you a meal of a price for a drink. The only complaint I have was the chips of the guacamole which can be more fresh but it could also be just the batch.

I didn't get why this place has so many great reviews. The place does have a good vibe (back patio) and the people are really nice & attentive but the food wasn't amazing. We had the molkajete cielo, Mary tierra which is a seafood and meat mix served in a traditional Mexican molcajetes. It came with soft corn tortillas (not a fan!) plus some corn pieces, cactus and jalapeño peppers. Salsa is layered on the bottom. It was really difficult to eat this with the tortillas as it was a very wet dish. Everything tasted okay but not great. Wish there is an option to get rice and refried beans instead of the corn tortillas. Oh for our app, we got the elote. The corn was overcooked (soft, not crisp) and it was bland with only mayo and feta cheese. For dessert, we got the flan Neopolitan. That was ok but at $8, it was a very small piece. I enjoyed the comp chips and salsa plus our Mexican colas.

We came to this restaurant having seen it on blog TO. We made a reservation for 6pm but arrived a little earlier. We were seated at the front of this cozy restaurant / bar. Unfortunately, I do not drink but they have an extensive drinks menu. We ordered 3 items to share and they were all delicious. We got the Lava stone pot with meats. The bone Marrow and the tacos with the consomme dip. We have never had authentic Mexican food before and we would highly recommend this place. The meats are well seasoned and very juicy. Everything is very flavourful. My favourites were the sausage and beef. Service is good and we will definitely make the trip out here to enjoy the food again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the ambiance and decor of the place, it feels more authentically Mexican than most Mexican restaurants in the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was very quick and attentive. We loved the food and cocktails. The Aztec God's platter was delicious and my wife and I both loved the spice level of the enchiladas. I would definitely recommend this place.

3.5 stars - we tried this place for some authentic mexican and the food was really great. if you're feeling adventurous the dip trio with crickets was surprisingly delicious. i ordered the chicken enchiladas and the verde sauce was amazing. the drinks were also incredible!! we sat inside but i recommend reserving a table on the patio if you can. the inside is very warm and the music is loud so it's hard to hold a conversation. the service is just okay, it took us a while to place our order and had to hunt down a server for refills and our bill. if you're in the area it's a great neighborhood spot, but i don't know if i'd travel that far again.

Came here with my friends and we had a really good time. The food & service were great. Just a heads up book online reservation before going.

    Jamaica margarita

I had the mixed sopes and it was mediocre and lukewarm. Jamaica margarita was good, but weak. Staff very friendly, but food/drink not worth the price.

Pierina guided us via phone and even came outside of the restaurant and waved as we approached. That was awesome Customer service as well as kindness. Ambiance was chill inside. Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

The almond croissant, when you're lucky enough to claim one before nine, delivers a genuinely impressive balance of shattering, buttery layers and a filling laced generously with almond cream, more Parisian in spirit than most bakeries attempting the same feat across this city. Even the raspberry version, when available, carries the same confident hand in the kitchen. The coffee program deserves equal praise. A well pulled latte and a properly balanced cappuccino suggest a team that treats espresso with the same seriousness as their pastry case, and it shows in the cup. Where the experience finds room to grow is in the choreography of the space itself. The room is petite, charming in its cobalt blue framed way, but the flow between ordering and pickup can feel cramped during a rush, and seating fills quickly. The patio, however, is a genuine reward, a shaded perch worth claiming on a slow afternoon. This is a cafe operating with real ambition and skill, let down only occasionally by its own popularity. Arrive early, claim a croissant while you still can, and settle onto the patio; you'll leave understanding exactly why regulars keep coming back.

The line moved quick, even though it wrapped around, we waited for about 20 minutes only. The menu has some cool items, a few fusion dishes and trendy items. Awesome presentation and definitely Instagram worthy. I got the huevos rancheros, it was more like an egg burrito with beans, sauce and potatoes on top. The potatoes were probably my favourite out of everything. It was good but not the traditional you would expect. My friends sadly did not like their eggs benedict. The coffee was also average, not very strong or fragrant. Service was absolutely terrible. Our sever took so long to come, we see him just chatting in the corner. It was hard to flag him down for anything. It was not a nice experience. The menu does have some other cool items I do want to try (pancakes and french toast)... so maybe I will give it another shot if I am in the area one day.

Very friendly service (server was Crystal). Sat outside and still was attended to attentively - typically worried that patio seating gets less attention but that wasn't the case here. The menu excited me as brunch usually is a choice between sweet or savoury, but they have various options with both. Got the Indecisive with the eggs poached medium ( would recommend soft for future or sunny side up). The pistachio latte was yummy but with the matcha pancakes it became too sugary of a meal. Overall a casual yet put together vibe. Great for friends, dates, solo, or family. Washrooms not the cleanest, but the dining area was good. Did notice a few more birds than typical patios (tried to eat our scraps as we were waiting for the bill).

Food (3.5/5) - the menu is a combination of small and large plates ideal for sharing. A cosmopolitan menu of diverse items from many different cuisines. - Baja Caesar Salad - baby romaine, corn, caesar dressing, agave bacon, croutons, grana padano, chili spice. This was pretty good, romaine was fresh and sauce not too overpowering with a slight kick to it. - Coconut Shrimp with mango salsa, lime, chipotle aioli. Also pretty good... shrimp was cooked fine and the garnishes worked with it. - Tuna Ceviche with avocado, cilantro, corn, red onions, leche de tigre, cancha, plantain. This one was average. The sashimi chunks were pretty average and the overall mix seemed to lack flavour and moistness. - Hamachi Crudo with avocado, elderflower, pickled strawberry, jalapeño, pistachio, basil, olive oil. This was one pretty bad... some of the worst hamachi I have ever had! Overly fishy and off-colour. Service (4/5) - server and assistants were friendly and generally attentive. Some lapses in check ins from time to time. Rooftop is first come, first serve so a reservation does not mean you will be seated quickly and may have to hang out in the interior bar or tables until ready. Atmosphere (4.75/5) - you really cannot top the view from Kost. It has multiple look out areas besides the patio dining area by the infinity pool. They have a raised photo pedestal which is ideal to take pictures with the Tower, Rogers Centre and lake in the background. They also have some trendy couches and sitting areas as well. The interior dining area is also pretty good with window views outside and a California vibe to it. Overall (4/5) - Yes, the food is on the average side for the price. However, it really is a great atmosphere for dining, even if sitting inside. It is a bucket list destination at a minimum and worth a repeat imo.
