We have been calling Terry for years. He does his job well done. At this point, I just send him a txt, he comes to set the trap. I saw Terry at a house nearby while I was out on a walk. He had just caught a mole. I could tell he was good at what he did, so I asked him for his card since I've had some mole issues in the past. Sure enough, a couple of months later, I had a mole. I called Terry and he got right back to me. He was at our house the next day setting a trap in our backyard. He checked the trap several times throughout the week, and eventually it was clear that the mole had left. Terry picked up his trap, we had a nice conversation for a while, and then he left...never charging me a thing for his time; he just asked that if I ever get another mole that I call him. I've used Terry in the past with good success, however, he was always very brusk. I thought he was just a grouchy old guy with poor people skills. I see there are some mixed reviews, & while he DID catch our moles, this guy needs a lesson in respect, common courtesy & professionalism. The following season when I spotted mole holes, I contacted him, he said he would be out one day the following week, that he was fishing. I asked him if he could give me an idea of what day so that I could make sure to unlock the gate. He said he didn't need this, and if he didn't have access to the yard all week, he didn't need or want our business. I started to say that I have kids & dogs....and then he lost it & began yelling. I hung up on him. It was the craziest interaction that I have ever had. Terry knows how to catch moles, but his explosive behavior is unacceptable, and I won't tolerate this from anyone, less someone that I am hiring to come onto my property. **After writing my original review, Terry posted a rebuttal calling my review "fake." Fine, whatever, I'm not invested in a Yelp fight with this guy. Then he began badgering me via messages behind the scenes. Just had a very odd experience with Terry from Mole Control. After reading the good reviews on Yelp I decided to give him a call to come take care of a mole problem in my yard. Terry answered the phone and I told him I was looking for mole control services. He was kind of brusk from the get go, but I ignored it and scheduled a visit for "Thursday, Friday or Saturday" as he was not sure when he would be in my area. As it was Monday and moles were tearing up my front lawn, I decided to call around to see if I could do something sooner. I found another mole control service that was cheaper and could come out the next day. As I was about to call Terry back to thank him and cancel, he called me. Perfect, right? No. He told me he was driving by my house and that he could take a look right now. I told him thank you but that after talking to him I had decided to go another direction. This set him off and he basically yelled over the phone that I should have told him that on the phone earlier and why was I wasting his time. I calmly started explaining but he hung up on me. I called him back directly and started to explain that is unacceptable behavior. He made a rude comment and hung up on me. The mole works extermination Inc. sold us 2 months of mole control services. When they were notified that the moles reappeared after 1 month they did not return to finish the job. The proprietor Terry Siedelman was very condescending and aggressive to both my wife and I when we called him to request that he finish the job. I've contacted him twice to get him to finish the job and he's hung up on me. He also walked away with two mole traps that belong to me that I had set on my property. I called Terry to come out and remove a mole that was quickly tearing up my yard. He came out the next day, set a couple of traps and knew exactly what he was doing and what he was about. He clearly was very experienced. He caught them all lickety-split and my garden can now be put back together. He was extremely knowledgeable and has been doing this for decades. Do not call this guy! If you like being talked down to, doesn't show up ever week, griped: this is 20 miles for me and literally bitching the whole time he was here. Muttering under his breath this should be $300. Website says $125 but before he saw anything it was $150. I should have fired him the first day the way he talked. This guy knows his stuff! We tried all the usual remedies over the last 8 months: electronic 'thumpers', smoke bombs, poison pellets, and poison gel. The poison gel seemed to work for about a month. But then the critters were back with a vengeance. My friend Lauretta, had used Terry so we decided this was the way to go. Within 24 hours Terry had trapped one in our yard and one in the neighbors yard. I moved into a new house in NE PDX last summer, and we were plagued with molehill after molehill. Throughout the fall we repeatedly tried getting rid of them ourselves, including setting our own traps, and never got a single one. They were not active over the winter, but came back with a vengeance in the spring. We wanted to revamp the yard, put in new beds, etc and it's hard to go to the trouble when it's just going to get ravaged. Called Terry of Mole Works last Friday around 10 - he was out at 3:30, set a couple traps and said he'd be back every 5 days or so to check them and reset. I was seeing anywhere from 1-3 new hills a day at that point.. haven't seen another one in the week since. The first traps he set caught 2 moles within A DAY! What a great service. I had this huge mole making a terrible mess in my grass. While I feel very sympathetic to this poor creature it was a safety issue with the huge tunnels where I almost sprained my ankle when I mowed. Terry was able to within FIVE minute trap this mole and it was amazing. My neighbor tried for weeks to trap the mole in his yard himself before calling Terry who got his mole relatively quickly too.
