The best mole I have had!(besides my moms) Great service, small location. Everything was 10/10! I have gotten vía food delivery apps and it was always good but nothing beats eating it fresh out of the kitchen. Today I arrived at 10:15am and was the second person in the door. Fresh ingredients always. I'm a vegetarian and I appreciate the quality and variety of the vegetables . Mr Bahena's skill in the making of such delicious sauces for his dishes is superb. My favorite dish is the Chile Relleno with Chile/garlic sauce. Other mouthwatering dishes are the vegetarian mole, the sopes and the vegetable soup. One cannot get these quality dishes for such affordable price anywhere else in Chicago. The staff is always welcoming and courteous. Parking is always available across the street. This place is AMAZING!!! I live in the area but had never seen this place. My mother in law happen to know about it and she took us there, we walked in at 6 p.m. not knowing they were closing- they allowed us to dine in. They were so friendly and welcoming. They started us off with chips and salsa, the salsa was so good! Just the way my mom makes it, not too spicy but enough for you to get a kick. We all ordered different food but what they're known for is their mole; which of course we ordered. We had the Mole con pollo, Mole con costillas de puerco, Cecina estilo Guerrero and an Alambre. Everything was DELICIOUS, I believe you can't go wrong with any of their choices. Did I mention they have handmade tortillas?! Go here!! Best choice you'll ever make if you're in the mood for Authentic Mexican food. Also they have an all you can eat buffet on Sunday from 10-4 p.m. what else can you ask for?! read more

A little FYI....Southern boy raised in Texas on the best Mexican food in the world!! Cute place, I love that there is not an English word anywhere but the menu. The warm salsa is delicious, roasted peppers really set off the flavor. Unlike much of the salsa in the South there wasn't much cilantro, a little disappointing but not too much. The tortilla chips were fresh and not too greasy, absolutely perfect. The large horchata, at $4 was a little pricey (only because I know what the ingredients actually are), but it was thick, fresh, and most of all delicious. Today's breakfast is juevos con chorizo with rice and beans. We'll start with the mediocre; the Spanish rice is the same from a bag fare you can find in any craptastic Mexican joint, the refrejoles tasted homemade and were very heavy on lard and lacking much flavor, a little cumin goes a long way, any cumin even further. Now to the main course of eggs and chorizo, absolutely wonderful. The eggs are flat (no water or milk) and cooked hard scrambled. The chorizo is excellent and evenly blended throughout. All in all I will stick by my 5 Star review as I am most pleased to find very good quality Mexican food this far north! read more

This place is amazing, the mole is soooo good, heads up it's red and sweet! The quedo fondido with chorizo is hella good. 10/10 recommend

What a great gem! The carne asada is so tender it melts in your mouth. The pollo con mole is just delicious with a hint of spice and chicken that falls off the bone. It took a little time to prepare because I think everything is made to order. We have found our new place! Can't wait to try more. read more

They recently catered a graduation party we had. We had steak, chicken, rice, beans, guac and chips. The food, service and price was outstanding. Sunday afternoon 2: 30 pm went for the buffet which states 10 am - 3 pm .FYI there are really no options food was cold . Waitress was slow. We were a party of 4 people . Buffet consisted of pork meat with cactus , chicken mole , pozole and menudo . Rice and beans COLD AND KRUSTY . On the side there was rice pudding and fruit . We served this cold and krusty food and wait for the tortillas she comes out and brings 1 tortilla for each and about 45 minutes later when were already frustrated brings 4 more tortillas by that time we were ready to go . FYI place has about 8 tables . 1 Waitress . Will never be going there again . We PAID $ 75 FOR HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE . read more
