Traveled from Kona to this place a few weeks ago and NEEDED to leave a review because this place is new to me and needs positive exposure for how welcoming and amazing they are. Also, my axolotl and lily survived. Not sure if it was the owner that helped me, but while looking at the water plants (HUGE selection btw), he was so courteous, knowledgeable, and patient (I couldn't decide which one to get). Overall, worth the drive and money. Thank you!!!!

What were the names of the man and woman who ran the fish shop? Rod and Annette!…read more I can't say for certain (a lie), but I'm fairly sure that the good people who run Jordyn's Pets and Plants are not so serendipitously named. However, they run a pretty great little fish shop all the same. Jordyn's Pets and Plants is located on Kaumana Drive, all the way up above the Kaumana Caves. However, if you take advantage of the Puainako extension and cut through to Kaumana Dr. via Wilder Rd., it's right there for you. At least that's the route I would recommend. You'll not find a real parking lot, so to speak, but there's plenty of room in the lot next to the building, as well as on the other side of the road to park. Once inside, you'll find a very quaint shop lined wall-to-wall with tanks of various fish. They're mostly (if not all) fresh water fish to be put in an aquarium, but you'll find a nice variety nonetheless. Fish of all colors, shapes, and sizes! It would probably be pretty tough to run a fish shop that sold only generic fish that all looked exactly the same, I guess... But I digress! In addition to the many (unique) fish sold at Jordyn's, they sell quite a few live plants for you to situate ever so tastefully in your aquarium as well. I mean, really, are you content with those not-quite-the-right-shade-of-green plastic decorative plants? Nah, son. Get you a real plant and experience the upgrade. Your fish and family will thank you. Jordyn's of coures has the other odds and ends you'd expect to see at a fish store. Food and the like. You'll just have to pop in yourself to catch it all. And if you're into fish like that, why wouldn't you? Drop by and check 'em out!

This place is a piece of heaven. Those cookies, brownies and rocky road are things I dream of. I do prefer dark chocolate over milk, but milk chocolate stuff is really yummy too. Who am I kidding if only milk chocolate dipped cookies in front of me I'd totally take them. The packaging is also beautiful, but if you just want cookies for you or to make goodie bags save a little money and get the bagged cookies vs boxed ones. And if you have any product questions, make sure to ask the friendly staff.

Disappointed! - I've come here before for nail trims and dremel services, and my previous…read moreexperiences were generally quick and satisfactory. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. The groomer cut one of my dog's nails too close to the quick/vein, causing it to bleed, and also dremeled/filed the tops of multiple areas on his paws, which were also bleeding quite a bit. He was noticeably in pain afterward, which was extremely concerning as a pet owner. I understand accidents can happen, but cutting into the quick and over-dremeling multiple areas of his paws is not something I consider acceptable for a routine nail trim. I'm especially disappointed because I've used this service before without issues. I hope the grooming team takes greater care to prevent this from happening to another pet, especially as my poor baby is in pain!!

Saw most of the important sites in Okinawa, including several museums and memorials, Shuri Castle, Naha city, Churaumi aquarium(!), the Higa awamori brewery and the Orion brewery! We even got to see the Shuri Castle parade. The shoppers had time to do their thing too. Akemi, our guide, is from Okinawa and was really friendly, helpful, and made it really great for us. James was very communicative about updates about weather and the different locations. When we got to the spot, Dylan was very friendly and pretty honest about the sky being unfortunate and that we may not get clear skies. He told us we could wait or just leave now and reschedule or get a refund. At our tour start time he decided to cancel the tour but offered a mini tour for free instead. Since we weren't able to rebook, we opted for this option instead. Dylan was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. He was able to show us some cool stuff they saw last night. It was for sure a bummer that we had our tour canceled, but everyone made up for it and we still got a full refund. We knew it was a gamble, but we chose this company since they gave full refunds if it was cloudy and they fulfilled that promise and then some. We still walked away with a very cool experience. Highly recommend! If we come back, we will for sure try again.

Would not recommend this tour. Save yourself the money and drive up to Mauna Kea on your own…read more To be fair, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and did a good job getting everyone safely to the viewing location. We also lucked out with excellent weather. Unfortunately, those were the highlights. The experience itself was surprisingly chaotic. While the lead astronomer, Dylan, was trying to give his presentation, the photographer was constantly lining groups up for Milky Way photos just a few feet away. Between the photography, people talking, and others getting up for pictures, it was difficult to hear or stay engaged. If you're expecting a peaceful evening learning about the night sky, this isn't it. Dylan was clearly knowledgeable, but his presentation felt more like a stand-up comedy routine with astronomy mixed in than an actual guided stargazing experience. Instead of focusing on the stars and constellations we were actually looking at, much of the discussion revolved around black holes, nebulas, and other astronomy topics that had little connection to what was visible in the sky that night. It was entertaining at times, but not what we signed up for. The telescope felt especially misleading. The website advertises that one is provided, but guests never actually get to use it. Instead, we were shown images on an iPhone that were presented as if they had just been captured, only to later discover they had been taken weeks earlier. That left a bad taste and felt unnecessarily deceptive. By the end of the night, we genuinely couldn't figure out what our nearly $300 had paid for. The viewing location was on public land just minutes off the highway with no special access, we never looked through the telescope, and the astronomy portion rarely focused on the sky above us. In the end, it felt like we paid hundreds of dollars for hot chocolate, a folding chair, and two professionally taken Milky Way photos. Mauna Kea is breathtaking and absolutely worth experiencing. This tour, however, added very little value and actually detracted from what should have been a memorable, peaceful night under the stars.
