I have known her since 1994 and we have worked separately and in tandem with patients in which I was treating the individual and she saw the couple. In addition, Dr. Greenberg is very talented in helping people navigate any parenting difficulties. I know her work intimately since we have participated in professional consultation groups together over the years. She is one of my main referral resources when any of my clients need couple's therapy. I know when I send clients to her that they will receive the best care, and I highly recommend her for those with any relationship issues. Judy H.Smith, Ph.D.

It was a huge decision for me to enter therapy. I'd had several (brief) prior experiences with…read moreother therapists and was openly jaded and hesitant to give it another try. I was at the end of my emotional rope though -- dealing with major depression, loss, anxiety, burnout, and an array of issues from childhood that were apparently still waiting for me. In short order, I found Dr. Greenberg to be noticeably different from the other therapists I'd dealt with. She is engaged, tuned in, and an extremely astute listener who seems to truly care that she is helping. She is not at all shy about providing open, honest feedback that addresses directly the issue(s) at hand, and she is clearly both intelligent and well trained. I've seen her now for well over a year, in both individual and group formats, and have always found her to be incredibly objective, supportive, sensitive, kind, compassionate and very easy to open up to -- which is an invaluable credential for some of us. I genuinely believe she takes great pride in her work and seeing her patients progress. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Greenberg.

Before seeing Eric, I had been dealing with stress that caused changes that caused severe…read morerestrictions in my life. I refused to use the medication and tried exercise, meditation, and other options with no changes. From my sessions with Eric, I found solutions to what had been hindering me. I discovered the root cause of my issue, and we worked together throughout the process to achieve positive results. Eric was extremely patient and truly professional during every session until I achieve the transformation that I needed. I am extremely happy with the new me!

Pros: Eric is nice enough, seems genuine in his efforts to help, and communicated an approach that…read moremade sense to me on the surface. Cons: The approach seemed like a one-size-fits-many solution, and maybe it does work for many, but the deeper we got into it, the less faith I had in it as something that was capable of specifically meeting my needs, and the more it just seemed like culturally appropriated mumbo jumbo by a dude who's going to spend 3 hours telling you that you're all better over Zoom, then go take his 5th vacation of the year to Hawaii. Bottom line: If anyone is here looking to solve substance-related issues, I'd strongly encourage you to look for help through a conventional medical provider, especially if you have health insurance. That approach will take more time and effort on your part, but the data shows that it usually pays off if you're willing to do the work. I paid almost nothing for a comprehensive program at Kaiser which used a multi-modal approach and led to a lasting solution (16 months and counting as of today) for my problems. For me, Eric's services were a waste of many hundreds of dollars. Spending the same amount on out of pocket sessions with a cognitive behavioral therapist would have yielded a better outcome.

When I questioned her about this, she attempted to mislead me telling me that the insurance company was reporting the wrong number on my statements. A quick call to the insurance company proved this was false. When I presented her with that information and asked why she was charging a higher amount, she recommended we not work together any longer. Even after all of this, she also still billed my insurance for the cancelled appointment. I reported this to the insurance company (that I did not speak to her on that day) and they have tried to contact her via phone and email, but have been unsuccessful. If I had not looked into this, she would have been fraudulently making ~3X her normal pay just because I cancelled too late. I understand why therapists need to charge fees for a late cancellation, as it represents lost wages for them. However, I believe it's unethical to charge more money than she would have made if I had attended. I have been wrestling internally with posting this review as I want to believe she did not have bad intentions, but in the face of her misleading me and avoiding calls from the insurance company, I feel an obligation to let future clients of hers know what happened. I am giving 2 stars because during the 4 months we spoke, she was not an awful therapist. She came off a little more like a life coach at times, where she was directly telling me to/not to do things rather than asking me questions to help me come to my own conclusions. It's not really my preferred style of therapy, but some people might find it helpful.
