It was a huge decision for me to enter therapy. I'd had several (brief) prior experiences with other therapists and was openly jaded and hesitant to give it another try. I was at the end of my emotional rope though -- dealing with major depression, loss, anxiety, burnout, and an array of issues from childhood that were apparently still waiting for me. I went to this therapist based on the quality yelp reviews. I was incredibly disappointed when she told me that she liked me a lot but didn't think she could work with me because of the fact that my husband was currently undergoing specific medical treatment. She explained that someone very close to her was also undergoing a similar medical issue! Ummm....excuse me? I've never heard something so ridiculous. Isn't that one reason therapists have therapists? Before we met, I told her on the phone about my husband's medical treatment, & that my prior therapist (who I loved and adored) had passed away several years ago. I was so traumatized by her death that it took me years to begin the process of finding a new one). Also, it's not like my husband's medical treatment is super uncommon. In fact, she would lose a considerable number of new and/or existing clients if she couldn't work with this demographic. She also doesn't take insurance, but sure as sh*t made sure I wrote her out a check before I left her office. In summation: I laughed, I cried, I kissed $200 goodbye. read more

Dr. Greenberg cares. She is always prepared and I have great respect for her experience and knowledge. I learn something new each session about how to be a better person for myself, and for my partner. I have been to other therapists who would let me get away with my pre-programmed excuses. Sharon has been a wonderful therapist. I didn't know I could feel so comfortable with someone. I'm an introvert who prefers books and computers to people. She is helping me through some intense issues, helping me make sense of it, sort through individual emotions, validate some of them. I can see that she enjoys her work and is receptive to understanding new cultures. I never expected magic out of therapy, but someone I could work with, Sharon hasn't disappointed at all. She even sees me on a short notice at times! A year and a half later. I need to add, I've made so much progress in therapy I'm a different person. I was disappointed in our couples session. For $300 (!!!!!) and all her high rated reviews I was astonished. She appeared to be distracted and not really listening. Granted hearing a history of a new couple covers a ton of ground but that is part of her job, no? I just felt like she wasnt able to corral the conversations or give any useful tools for us. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have found Dr. Greenberg and working with her was the most important and right decision for us. Therapy sessions with her guided and enabled us to put in a lot of effort and focus in trying to salvage our marriage. She is very innovative and creative in her approach and provided us with tools to help understand the real issues and communicate effectively. The sessions with her were highly productive. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Greenberg for over a few years now. Our relationship has strengthened exponentially in that time and she has helped us in a myriad of ways. We each came with our own "issues" or baggage, and the stress of raising a child put our relationship over the edge. I've been seeing Sharon for a couple of years now. I initially went to her to try to navigate some family issues. In working with Sharon I realized that I was severely depressed. She helped me figure out why, and helped me turn things around. We then dug deeper and I started to work on some things regarding my childhood that explain why I do some of the things that I do. We're still working on things and I continue to gain understanding that helps me feel more comfortable in the world around me and interact with my loved ones in a better way. My wife and I have seen Sharon as a couple for over 2 years. The changes we've gone through in that time have been remarkable. With her help we've been able to move to a whole new place in our relationship. Sharon has a direct style of communication that works well for us. One of the things that surprised us greatly was when Sharon suggested our marital problems sprung in part from behavior patterns we'd had imprinted via our childhood and family interactions growing up. This was a unique approach and initially I found it hard to believe.
