Awesome family owned business that's been around for over 20 years! Great food and service! They have a spacious dining room that is great for family & friends get togethers, a nice patio area if you want to eat outdoors and a fun bar area that offers great pizza and wing nights. My blackened burger was fantastic, done perfectly and fresh cut fries were excellent. Wife had the cheese steak, and she was very happy. Service was excellent and making sure our drinks were full and checking in with us. We ate in the bar, so I got to watch h the Pirate game. All was good. read more

Without exaggeration, Mogies serves the best chicken wings I've ever had. They're whole wings, perfectly fried, and come generously coated in a variety of delicious sauces. The prices are incredibly affordable, and the vibes are fantastic--the staff is friendly, and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. The service is excellent too. I had tried them before and years ago and wasn't sure what the big deal was. Even been there drinking in the past. I must of had an off day cause the food I've seen since and seen my friend a post and share has drove me bonkers to get back over there and try it. Give them another shot and all. We did so and we ordered two pizza, hot pepper cheese balls, and I have to say for an Italian place the pizza was pretty darn good. The hot pepper cheese balls were a little bigger than expected but the portion was still really nice. I hope they keep that the same. I know so many other restaurants that start well and lose customer cause of inadequate amounts and issues. Our cheese pizza was 14 something and was actually way bigger than I thought it would be. It was really tasty and fresh. Hand made dough and home made sauce. Yummy!! The white pizza has left room for more to be desired in the taste department and was a little over cooked kind of like eating an oiled cracker though the tomatoes were nicely done and presented on it. We will be headed back again soon to try out more of what they have. The hot turkey and mash looked incredible. My friend got it and I wish I would have. Leave more to try for next time. They are reopened now from just to go to actual dine and and bar service but it's social distancing and all of that to do so. They also have outside seating which is really nice. read more

Pizza, our appetizer, was good, but not great. Kids thought the crust was to thin and the cheese was to stringy. But it came out hot and I enjoyed it. The turkey Devonshire was my choice. While it tasted fine, nothing stood out. The cheese sauce could have been a little more flavorful. Honestly, I prefer Stouffer's rarebit sauce as it has more flavor. Lots of turkey on the toast though, so it was filling. Daughter had Philly cheesesteak. She said it was good. Fries were ok. Son had Buffalo chicken wrap. He didn't enjoy it. He said it had a sour taste to it. But daughter took a bite and said it was fine. So this sandwich is a toss up. Our waitress was very pleasant and she joked around with the kids. Looking for the best fish sandwich of your life? Well here it is.. my husband and I went here one Friday night and I got the fish sandwich witch came with coleslaw and fries. And my husband got a stromboli. The fish sandwich was huge. Enough to be completely full and still have some leftover. On the sandwich was lettuce, tomato, and cheese. All veggies were fresh and crisp. The fries are hand cut fries lightly salted and a very very generous portion. The coleslaw was also very good. The stromboli was also very big and packed full of stuff,.. the bar is big and there are also tables for more of a sit down dinner feel. My friend and I had dinner and several martinis. Food and drinks were great. I ordered seasoned wings to go for my husband. It was late, I gave him the wings and I went to bed. He said the wings had no seasoning on them. I called the next morning when they opened and explained I received unseasoned wings And asked for a replacement. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a business. The owner said I should have went back that night, he said I was snippy on the phone which I definitely was not. He made a new order of wings but after the way He badgered me when I was there, I left the unseasoned Wings and replacement wings there and left. How sad to be treated like that. I've had their pizza before and always thought it was OK-not the best but acceptable. Tonight's was not very good mainly because whoever made it doesn't care or doesn't know how to make pizza. If you make a large pepperoni pizza and you put no more than two pieces of pepperoni per slice (some only having one piece) you're just not that good at what you're doing or, like I said, you don't care. I posted a picture. The only thing I really want is for them to see my picture, go to the employee and say, "You can't make pizza like this." Hopefully it will be better next time. read more

Came here after playing a round of golf at Hillcrest Country Club up the street. Decent place to grab a beer and watch some March Madness. The service was good and I enjoyed talking to the patrons at the bar. To eat, I only ordered the appetizer platter which was okay at best. Only wish I could give it less stars. I had the worst steak, service, and overall dining experience ever, at this place. The food took forever, the restaurant was frigid cold, and the waitress came to our table 3 times total, never checking if we needed a drink refilled even. Frankly you'd be better off going down the road a little further to find some better food or spend your $ across the street at the Chinese buffet. It's a lot better in all aspects of service, and value. Maybe I've spoiled myself from dining in Pittsburgh more often and set my expectations too high? But this place didn't want our business and made it kind of known. Further out towards Leechburg is a nice place called the Bonfire. It's worth the extra few minutes drive. Had the BEST steak salad at Mogies about 6 weeks ago. Ordered it over the phone from their posted menu. When I picked it up, it wasn't $10.50 per the online menu, it was $13.00 per the bar's printed menu. Fine. The salad was delicious, even at Pittsburgh prices. Six weeks later, I'm picking up my salad and it's $14.78, including a beverage tax. I get that restaurants are hurting, that's why I brought cash for a tip. But the two menu prices, the up charges and the MASKLESS patrons were a big turnoff. I WANTED to support local businesses but not this one. read more

Mogie's continues to operate despite the current PA shut down for in-house dining and drinking. Response from workers who have answered the phone and been asked about why Mogie's is still serving have been dismissive and inappropriate. I could never recommend a restaurant or bar that does not put customers and community first, especially in a global health crisis. read more

just now On July 2, 2020 approximately 6:30pm my boyfriend and I went to Moogie's to have dinner after dropping my daughter off at soccer practice. We waited to be seated for 7 minutes with no one coming to greet us. In fact, we never saw anyone in the dining room at all. After waiting there for 7 minutes, we decided to go outside to see if we could seat ourselves. We asked the server who was on the patio if we could seat ourselves. She said yes but we could tell she wasn't very happy about it. After sitting down we waited 8 minutes with no one greeting us. The owner was standing at a table right behind us talking about calling senators/state representatives about shutting businesses down. NOT ONCE DID HE ASK IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING. We had no menus or drinks. Needless to say we left. I work in the restaurant business and I'm not only appalled by how poorly the place is being run but the fact that the owner neglected to notice that we had been sitting there for a long period of time. Is actually disgusting. I do not recommend going there and 1 Star is being very generous. Horrible way to run a business and to treat people. We would have spend money there every week. There was maybe 13 people at the bar and I don't know the bartender but she was an older lady and she was on her phone rather than refilling our drinks. There were 6 of us in my group. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in my life. The decor is tacky the ceiling is water stained and missing panels. The wait staff does not know the drink or menu specials. For our meal we ordered two appetizers one came out ten min. Later a pizza showed up 5 min later my sandwich came out 5 min later my sons pasta came out and once we were done and wanting to leave our second appetizer showed up. The worst part of it all is it was all over priced and not very good. Never again will I dine or find myself in the bar which made everything stink of stagnant smoke (I am a smoker and it was that bad that it bothered me). New Years Eve 2013 - You know you made a mistake when the wait to eat line everywhere is 30 to 45 min., and here, you can walk right in. What did everyone know that I didn't? Suspected something but it went beyond any expectations. I will be kind. The server was a reasonably nice women, ie: the one star. Without question, this was the worst example of a restaurant I have ever encountered. I can't begin to describe the main course, or what it appeared to be. I will simply say that the burnt fries, the frozen desert (considering it was to be hot!), and what was passed off as a main course were the stuff of Kitchen Nightmares.
