uncooked rice, moldy lettuce, runny poblano crema, dried out chicken, stale/old/overly salted chips
    Lacey D.

Thats it. Ive held my tongue far too long. Listen people... im a 90's baby and Moe's was my #1 go to in my youth... which means i experienced Moe's at its prime, during the pandemic and now unfortunately during its decline...Don't come to this location and waste your money or your time. I regret to inform you that the Welcome has officially no longer welcome at Moes. Because Moe's must hate us to have let it get to this point.....The rice is always overcooked, the poblano "creama" has been more poblano "runny" its very watered down, the meat is dried out like it was cooked years ago and resold. This location no longer, i repeat DOES NOT HAVE a freestlye soda machine which means NO MOE-RITA. BIG DISAPOINTMENT! And dont even get me started on these Oily/Stale/Bendy wendy/ caked on salt crumb of a disgrace to tortilla chips they want to call chips. What has happened to the quality of food at this location. Seriously. Whoever is in charge of this location... please put this location out of it's misery. Farewell Moes

Not as good as other moes. I know this is Tex mex, so I wasn't expecting too much. I got the Nachos & they were average. However, this location was very hot like the air was broken & the ice machine didn't work either. Definitely could use a good cleaning

    Whole place was dirty.

My issue is how unclean the place is. Staff was simply fine. The food tastes average but the place is filthy. They don't clean. I was looking at dust and dirt along the window sill at a booth and noticed the sat shaker, picture posted. My husband asked if I noticed how messy the food prep area was, I wasn't paying attention though. I stopped eating and let the fam finish before leaving. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Chucks of Cilantro in my burrito

Horrible customer service. Some of the worst I have ever experienced. I was actually in shock as it was happening. I usually put it down to having a bad day but I felt like I was being punked or on the set of Waiting this was that bad. Then looking at other reviews & the 2.5 stars I guess I wasn't. Unfortunately the food wasn't much better, I ended up pulling out big chunks of cilantro throughout my burrito. Lesson learned & never again.

When did they start using canned corn?

I truly have no complaints about this establishment, which is one of the reasons I have frequented it for so many years. This is clearly a Tex-Mex restaurant chain. They also feature a sauce bar, offering a variety of different hot sauces to select from.

I've been here before with friends a few times, years ago but somehow never wrote a review and hadn't been back. It was time to fix both of those problems. . I stopped in for lunch on a Monday and had my pick of spots in the large, festive- rustic dining room. There are tables and booths aplenty-along with tall stools at the large bar. They bring you a generous basket of chips and salsa right away. The first round is free-they charge after that. The chips are usually fresh and crisp. To me, the salsa needs more heat or spices-but don't go by me-I have tomato issues. My server arrived soon and was so sweet when handling my questions. She helped me make good ordering decisions and also checked on me often, but didn't hover. I went with one of the lunch specials, which was a good deal. I had the Speedy Gonzalez: a beef taco, beef enchilada verde and rice (you could have also chosen beans). It's tasty and filling-and goes down great with those aforementioned skinny margs. I ordered the cheese dip and a side of flour tortillas to dip in it. I just can't resist a bowl of cheese. All this merriment on a Monday afternoon? Si!!! The menu is big-and has echos of the Vallarta's restaurants here in the Bay Area. I'm wondering if it's a sister restaurant. It's in a strip mall, with some parking in front and maybe more in back. There's outdoor seating-and I know they used to have mariachis on certain nights-and people would dance. I should find out if that's still the case. I love mariachis even more than a bowl of cheese. Gran Agave has been here a long time. I think it has a strong local following-and I need to become a regular.

We had a group of nine for a family dinner and waited about an hour for a table, which was understandable for a larger party. Once seated, however, the service was unfortunately very slow. It took about 15-20 minutes just to receive our drinks (seven waters and two margaritas), and our food took roughly an hour to arrive at the table. The restaurant didn't appear to be overly busy, so the long wait times were a bit confusing. Because gratuity was automatically included, it felt like our server may not have been as attentive as expected. The prices were also on the higher side, which made the slow service even more disappointing. That said, I do want to mention that the food itself was very good, which was definitely the highlight of the experience. Overall, while we enjoyed the meal, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I'd consider returning in the future, but only if the service improves.

Los Chapos Tacos - Brandon, FL…read more I've been on a serious hunt for truly authentic Mexican food in the Brandon/Tampa area for years, and this little hole-in-the-wall next to the HCA hospital absolutely nailed it. I ordered the Al Pastor burrito -- twice in one week -- specifically to test consistency. Both visits were outstanding. The flavors were vibrant and clean: fresh pineapple, bright cilantro, perfectly seasoned meat, and you could even pick up subtle notes of cinnamon. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and genuinely authentic, not over-processed or masked with heavy sauces. What really stood out was the care. The staff checked on me while I was eating, genuinely wanting to make sure everything was right. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being in someone's kitchen -- that comforting "grandma making sure you're fed right" kind of energy. Warm, welcoming, and personal. I've traveled extensively in Mexico and lived in Florida for years trying to find a place that hits the mark for real Mexican flavor -- and this place absolutely delivers. Hands down, this is the best Mexican food I've found in this area in a long time. If you're anywhere near Brandon and love authentic Mexican food, do yourself a favor and stop here. You won't regret it.

It was open for business, but there was only one other group of two in there with us-and only one server-who was also the bartender. It was a little odd. I'm sure this place is popping at night. Our server (who was chatty at the end-businesslike before) told us there's karaoke on Friday nights and a DJ on Saturdays. I'll definitely bring the friends back for that. The drink menu is large-it would be a fun night spot. I'm just not sure I'd come back for a weekday lunch. That's not the food's fault, though. I had chicken enchiladas verde (very nice) with some of the best Mexican rice I've ever had. The margarita was also good. You can tell this restaurant has been around awhile-there are echoes of genres past, with different decor still lingering (the lighting, for example). But I love the murals outside, the bar surrounds, the signage by the stage area and the other Mexican touches. I also really like the vintage windows-it's a nice nod to the past. We did not know that walking in. They all looked at us like what are you doing here? My husband even said is this a restaurant? So we asked for a menu - which is a QR code. Yes- they have food. We decided to sit at the bar and at least have a drink. It was early so no a lot of people. Everyone seemed confused as to how things worked. Most employees spoke Spanish and we do not. A bartender did speak English. He asked what we wanted and took our drink order. He was nice. We did end up getting food. Chips and salsa=$10! Other items were priced fairly. We asked for water and he claimed they only had bottles of still water=$4.50. But we saw someone else get a glass with ice/water at another table. Also be warned there is a "service fee" of 15% (for what I have no idea) and if you use a credit card 3% card fee. We searched on line to see what people said about this place and some other reviews on Google said they charge $10 to get in although we were not charged anything to come in. In the end the food was pretty good. Bottom line- this is a nightclub with an identity problem as they are trying to serve food as well and it just does not have a restaurant or bar&grill feel to it. We won't be back as not our scene, but also wish them well with the clients they really are trying to attract.
