Good food and good service! An old school dude from this neighborhood invited me here for a Sunday lunch. We both ordered rueben sandwiches. They were great. And the service was really good. Our server was awesome...super friendly, on top of everything, and funny. We didn't have the brunch because there was only about 10 minutes left when we walked in the door. It looked really good. 5 stars, Moe's, 5 stars. Not like this is a Meritage or Travail-esque establishment, but for what you expect and what you get, this place is pretty damn good for Mounds View. Yes, Mounds View... it's a place that is a mere 15mins from Minneapolis but is considered BFE. But hey, I've been here several times and have never had one complaint. The first time we came here was for Easter brunch. We called last-min for a reso, and they were still able to accommodate us at our desired time. They had a lovely set-up of an enclosed outdoor tent full of meat carving stations and trays of heart-attack. I love these things. There was a lot of variety and I honestly enjoyed everything. And yes, they had a lot of healthy options too but that's hard for me to care about at a buffet. The second time, we showed up late after a fishing trip and the kitchen was about to close in 5mins. But they were still kind and patient and agreed to serve us with a smile. I was obviously starving so I ordered chicken fingers, and was pleasantly surprised that they were fresh and hand-breaded. That makes a huge difference to me and fellow chicken finger aficionados. And children. I highly recommend their chicken parmigiana. Hear me out. I probably sound like a basic bitch raving about chicken fingers and chicken parm, but theirs is just so good. They have a homemade marinara that tastes like a blend of marinara and a vodka alfredo sauce. Tangy, creamy, cheesy. My boyfriend was all frisky for it too. I enjoyed their bacon blue burger that was stuffed with thick porky bacon, instead of a majority of grease and fat, and they were generous with the blue cheese. Next time I need to narrow in on some steak and walleye. They often have events and specials. They are also active and responsive on Facebook. My 3 year old was demanding pancakes so after touring the packed parking lot of neighboring Perkins and R J Riches we opted for Moe's, which I had been to before and liked. However the near-deserted lot should have been a warning. Don't get me wrong, the food is really tasty. It's just inconsistent in portion (my husband paid $8 for a tiny portion of Eggs Benedict, while my $6 skillet was too big to eat) and the service was awful. The waiters on duty kept rushing around as if there were hundreds of people there (there weren't; remember the empty parking lot) and we could hardly get the attention of our waiter to get the bill. Plus he deceived us into buying a 2nd orange juice by a flippant "can I get you some more orange juice?" in such a way we both thought it was free. Nope. Not a fan. This places has changed so many times since I was a kid. This us a similar American bar restaurant. The place was slow for dinner, but so was the service! I didn't see anything in the menu I thought even sounded good, so I ate some of my cousins mozzarella sticks. This place got one star since my grandma enjoyed her side salad meal! 1. The food is okay, not the best. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp pasta, they say the sauces are homemade but it's not. I also got the jumbo chicken wings and they were dry the buffalo sauce that it was "tossed" in was barely there. 2. The host was not by the front so I went to look for a waitress, one saw me standing there for 5 minutes but proceeded to keep talking to the customer and pretend that I was not there. I had to ask the bartender to help me, she gave me the food and just told me to have a good day...Then when I arrived home the "Host" called me and said I didn't pay. If she was doing her job properly the bartender wouldn't have mistakenly given me the food that I forgot i had to pay for because I didn't pay over the phone. In all the food tastes okay but the customer is $h!tty. If you're a POC don't bother going here they won't treat you right. read more

We stopped at Moe's for dinner since we were in the area. We arrived around 6:30pm, so missed the Happy Hour window. The bar was still packed, but the restaurant had many open tables. It took a while to take our order and quite a bit of time before the meal was brought out. The service was polite, friendly, and helpful. I couldn't decide what to order so asked the waitress to surprise me. She brought me the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich and it was delicious with the BBQ pulled pork, topped with coleslaw, brioche bun, with a side of apple cider vinegar red pepper sauce for dipping. It was perfect!! My husband ordered the Jim Beam Burger with fries and my son ordered the Bacon and Bleu burger with fruit. I met some former coworkers here for lunch a few months ago.From the looks of the place (outside and inside), I didn't have high expectations. The guys got club sandwiches. I got a steak salad. The positives: the portions are quite large if you're starving. The food is really good. I loved my salad (lots of good greens-no iceberg here). The service is good. The negatives: there is no ambiance/it's quite dark inside. The location is inconvenient if you're at home (only good for a work lunch). The portions (why both good and bad? well, I wasted almost 75% of my salad since I had to go back to work-that's how large it was). Moe's is your typical towny restaurant that serves good home cooked meals that the locals have been coming back for years for. You can't go wrong with the boneless wings as an appetizer but I did hear if you go traditional they also grill the wings which sounded pretty good to me! I went with the Philly cheesesteak sandwich while my wife got a burger. Both were tasty, nothing to write home about, but still a filling meal! I met a buddy that lives close to here for dinner while I was on a work trip to the area. This is a solid sports bar. They don't have too much on tap unfortunately but beers and food were very reasonably priced! I got the beer can chicken for dinner and we split some wings. Both were really good. I can't remember the last time I had beer can chicken or even saw it on a menu. Very cool and unique offering! The bar area was a little dimly lit, but had a good amount of TVs with multiple games on. They had a separate dining area as well that was more lit up. If I was back in the area for work I could totally come back for more of that chicken! read more

This past Sunday, our party of 5 decided to go to Moe's. It was the first time there for my husband and I. We had the Moe's Signature Burger with tater tots and the Pub Burger with natural-cut fries, respectively. Let me just say, my Pub burger was nothing short of fabulous! The caramelized onions, pepperjack cheese, and Sriracha mayo were great on the medium-well burger, and the pretzel bun held up nicely without getting soggy. The fries were also seasoned perfectly! Hubby's Moe's Signature Burger is Moe's version of the Juicy Lucy: two beef patties stuffed with real bacon bits, American cheese, and onions with house-made BBQ sauce on a brioche bun. Hubby was very pleased the burger was thoroughly cooked. As with many Juicy Lucy versions, the burger can be slightly undercooked to avoid loss of the cheese stuffing. This was not the case, this time. His only complaint was there could have been a little more bacon. The restaurant itself was very clean and the tables were nicely spaced for those concerned about Covid. Staff does not appear to be required to wear masks, but our waitress kept a reasonable distance during ordering and checking on us. I highly recommend Moe's for an evening out. read more

First time at Moe Ice House last night, we really wanted to like this place. It was very busy, great for them, however, feel it is necessary to address some issues. We asked a server if we could place a drink order, she indicated we had to place it with the scan on a table, at this point we were waiting for a table to open, we just ordered at the bar. After finding a table, which was never cleaned from the previous customers, we set up our account, placing our food order, which we received in a timely manner, but, no one ever checked to see if we needed anything else, never cleaned our table, never asked if we needed water or any concerns. We don't mind paying a tip which we included with our food order, however, tipping is for good service, which was greatly lacking. We enjoyed watching the curling events going on, we tried to order an additional drink, the scan menu is way to hard to just order a drink from, so went somewhere else. We were under the impression that last night was a Grand Opening, this should be the time to be at your best! Not sure if we will be back. read more

OMG, we came here last week since I had a birthday coupon. I think I heard about this through a Groupon offer and a lot of people bought it. So, I figured to give it a try with my coupon and it was worth it. I decided on the surf and turf (lobster and sirloin steak) which was really good. My wife had the blackened salmon which a little spicy for her. We split our dishes and even those portions were generous. Well, the waitress was really nice and also got us the messy sundae included with the birthday coupon. The sundae was amazing for theatrics with the sparkler. At first glance Moe's looks like a sports bar. Though littered with TVs which can be distracting, Moe's is also home of good food and nice clean atmosphere in the dinning side. The wait staff is friendly and accurate. We regularly take our 2 year old along for dinner. I like the Crescent City Pasta the most. We also had them host a party for us. Their main banquet room was taken, but we were desperate for a location and convinced them to host us in the tent-covered deck outside, despite a looming thunderstorm. Visited last night with a girlfriend. This place feels like you've been here before. The front is a neighbor hood joint. With Dustin pouring the perfect drink, taking your food order, and making you feel like you want to come back. The back is like the " nice" place in small town American. Where you go for special nights out. It was cool how they hold the two together I don't know. We had the dusted wings grasshopper legs and beef stroganoff. The wings were good, but the blue cheese dip was great. Get them for that. Loved the green beans. I don't usually like stroganoff, but this was delightful. It was rich meaty, seasoned perfectly. Really really good. One more thing the bar tender/ server was a big reason I would go back. He seemed to genuinely want us to be there, want to serve us and make our night a good one. Stopped in on a Tuesday evening for dinner. After looking at the menu we selected: WALLEYE BITES: Freshwater walleye cut into "bite-sized" pieces, lightly battered and fried golden brown. Served with lemon wedge and tartar sauce. MOE'S SIGNATURE BURGER: Two lean patties stuffed with cheddar cheese, bacon bits and diced onions. Served on a toasted white bun with a side of BBQ. The walleye bites were very tasty and will become a regular item for me when I visit. The Signature burger (Jucy lucy) was also a winner. I felt they could use some new carpet and other cosmetic changes but I go for the food so this is not really an issue for me. On this trip our waitress was outstanding. There are several references to it on the menu. I passed. I went for the patty melt. $13. 13.5 for a regular burger. 6.25 for a pint of bells.4.75 for a rail whiskey. Moe's Is it a nightclub? Is it a sports bar? Is it a concert venue? Is it a restaurant? Is it a comedy club? When I went there it was a restaurant. Kind of quiet on a Saturday Afternoon. They offer sandwiches and some more involved entrees - the special was grouper. I had a "Mayslack's Original" I am not sure how that ties out with the real Mayslacks, but I enjoyed it. I actually thought it was quite a bit better than the sandwich I had at my last visit to Mayslacks. My wife's fish and chips didn't receive the same accolades. She was not impressed. Pretty solid option for a sports bar. Stopped in with some friends on a Saturday night for a few drinks and some food. The bar was full so we sat in the dining room. We were seated by the fireplace. Nice and warm at first, but it was really hot by the time we left. We started with some deep fried green beans. Those were great. I really liked the coating and the sauce that accompanied the beans. I hate to say it, but they were better than the beans at the Blue Door. I ordered the Mayslack's beef sandwich. That was very good. Nice beef flavor and enough throughout the entire sandwich. The rest of the group enjoyed their meals too. Our server was pretty good, mostly attentive. She left just was we finished and asked of we could close out and we did. Sometimes I think it's a little tacky to ask people to close out, but I did not mind since she was a good server. The server that replaced her was a little flighty and weird. The broiled walleye was amazing! Minnesota fresh fish cooked and seasoned to perfection. Fish does NOT get any better than this. The meat loaf was very good and the portion was more than we could handle. Left overs for lunch tomorrow! Also, the kids meals were good, home-cooked fares as well, complete with fresh baked cookies for desert. Service was great, atmosphere was okay. This place is about 65% restaurant and 35% bar. Stopped in for a quick bite on St Patrick's days. My bartender was Michelle although it was super busy she still made time to come talk and also talk with the other guests in the restaurant. Turn around time was fast from the moment I got into their. I got the pot stickers very good the sweet and sour sauce was one the best had a kick to it. The bartender working Saturday, August 19th was completely rude, incompetent, and disrespectful. We ordered vodka tonics with a splash of cran and both times he forgot to put the cran in. When I asked for the splash of cran, he replied with a really horrible attitude and saturated in sarcasm, "Anything else?" Like I was being super picky? I asked for it from the very beginning, it's not that hard. He only put the splash in the second one we ordered and then overcharged us for the drink. Three drinks combined (double vodka tonic, vodka cran, and a kiddy cocktail) was $21 and the ONE other double vodka tonic with the splash of cran was somehow $16 by itself. Clearly he either doesn't know how to ring people in for what they ordered or he was overcharging us--and in a very rude manner. Horrible food. This place has gone downhill in the last couple of years. Wife and I went a few weeks back and ordered the Walleye. BIG MISTAKE. Walleye was very fishy tasting and gray in color. I had my order sent back. No apology from the waitress. Also for the 20+ price wasn't worth it considering that the filet they gave me was no bigger than a frozen fish stick. I don't think I will be visiting this establishment ever again. Excellent food! Much of their food is homemade and all is high quality. Great service too. I recommend the homemade soups, my husband especially loves their chili. I also love the club sandwich - so, so tasty! And the turkey melt is amazing! Everytime I try something new I end up loving it. And there was great live music on a Wednesday night no less.
