I've tried almost everything and love it all. Their seafood is fresh, salads amazing, curry's delicious, Pad Thai's excellent. I love their Thai iced tea with boba. The fresh shrimp roll and tuna, plus a Papaya salad are among my favorites. Their recent renovations have brightened things up and service is attentive and friendly. Just had dinner here for the first time and service was absolutely amazing. The team never missed a beat to refill waters, to consider extra serving utensils that might be needed, or to provide extra plates when dishes were shared. On top of this, the staff were nice, making conversation with us that made you feel at home. The food matched the service. We loved the red curry the most of the dishes we ordered. First time coming to Mod's Thai House and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations, and the food was quick and delicious! We had the crispy pork sticky rice and the the duck crispy spring rolls as appetizers, and the Thai basil chicken and the beef noodle bowl as entrees. Highly recommend all of these dishes, but especially the crispy pork and the duck egg rolls. We will be back to sample more of the menu! Excited for a new place like this in Basalt! :) read more

This is a small place with a few tables inside and three or four tables outside in the driveway. I did not eat at the restaurant but took out. The food is very tasty but I did not like the vessels they use for the take out food. I found a lot of the sauce is absorbed in to it. read more

The entrees are full of delectable ingredients, making it both tempting and possible to try something outside of your comfort zone. A fantastic find in Basalt! Inside a cute building, tucked away off the street in downtown Basalt, is Mod's Thai House. Casual interior, order at the front, they cook to order and bring it to you at your table. Their menu encompasses many familiar Thai dishes, along with some interesting and unusual ones. One was a salad of raw tuna with a ginger tamarind sauce, which was tasty. When we walked in the first time, they had a tray of beautiful ducks coming out of the oven. So, we ordered the two dishes where they use the ducks: duck fried rolls, and duck red curry. These were both spectacular. The fried rolls had plenty of duck meat, and were rolled more free-form, rather than the tight cigars that fried rolls usually are. The duck red curry was spectacularly tasty, with moist duck meat. (In talking to the chef, he obviously takes pride in his slow-roasted duck, as he explained his technique.) Everything we had over two visits was excellent. Fresh ingredients, all prepared to order. Very nice people. Super tasty. What's not to love? read more

This is one of those small husband and wife restaurants that you're always looking for. The noodle bowls with the curry coconut milk sauce were amazing. The ahi tuna small plate with toasted coconut and tamarind sauce was out of this world. I am a great Thai food enthusiast and this was among the best that I have ever experienced. We found this place on yelp and it has great reviews even though not very many, which is why I wanted to add one because don't let the small number of reviews steer you away. It was very clean and had a charming decor. The food tasted super fresh, flavorful, and not greasy at all! Extremely friendly and helpful service!!! We were accidentally over charged for one of our add ons by 1.80 which we didn't notice; but as our food was being prepared, they brought the change to us and apologized for the mix up. Talk about honest service that you just don't find these days. An honest family run business with atmosphere, great food, and excellent service. The food was great! We got a pork fried rice, pork phad thai, and drunken noodles with a fried egg added. Each dish tasted unique, not generic, and had well developed flavor profiles. I would recommend it all. My dad and I shared the phad thai and drunken noodles (spicy, yum!) which complemented each other nicely. Mom mom loved her fried rice. I also forgot to take a picture of the crispy duck spring rolls because we ate it too fast because they were that good. The dipping sauce was on point! Not impressed. At all. Ordered takeout last Saturday night and picked it up at 8:15 pm. Was greeted at the door by the unwelcoming statement, "We're closed." However, they close at 9 pm. Got our takeout (almost $30 for just spring rolls and Pad Thai, which was comically expensive) and then was even less impressed with the food. The spring rolls were bland as was the Pad Thai and the beef in the pad thai was tough and didn't even taste like beef. There are so many better restaurants in the valley that are also much more affordable. read more

Delicious authentic Thai food! I tried the Chicken Khau soi and it was super yummy. A little spicy but not too hot. My friends had the chicken pad Thai and the chicken satay. We went here today for lunch at the suggestion of one of the servers we know at a nearby restaurant. The food here is incredibly good. This is a small family owned Thai restaurant that focuses on making authentic food prepared from Mod's mother's recipes. I was particularly impressed by the large high quality Gulf of Mexico shrimp they used in the delicious Spring rolls. The Pad Thai was easily the best I have ever had. The owners, husband and wife, are on site and very attentive to your needs. This place is a little hard to find, it is behind Basalt Clinic Pharmacy, but it has ample parking and food to die for. read more
